  • Shut up and take all my money!

  • hmm Funny concept :)

  • They also clean scratched CDs

  • Comment removed

  • It seems that the higher the spoke count results in a more even the pressure distribution.

  • Sweet, police spike strips won't work on these tires

  • These tires do seem kind of neat but how difficult are they to maintain? I imagine they might be a pain to maintain in my area where dirt roads are fairly common.

  • Come winter time and your tires will be frozen to the ground, plus trash and leaves and twigs will get caught in the tires etc. I like to see them in the mud too.

  • @mrbunnylamakins This is just the inside view, most likely the final product won't have open sidewalls

  • Your video is a favorite on Liberia

  • I'll take the girl instead

  • Michelin exhibited similar stuff 3 years ago!

  • MICHELIN has made the "tweel", with same idea, more than 5 years ago...v=fqRJ9GfIJtI

  • but i LOVE the smell of new tires...

  • will it blend?

  • HEY JAPAN! STOP MAKING STUFF WE CANT HAZ PLZ!

  • reminds me of the tweel

  • Nicht schlecht

  • future tanks? my god man, you do realise tanks use threads right? :P

  • a thermoplastic resin that only supports Japanese girls? sign me up!

  • How good are they with RPM? How much weight can they currently hold and how much weight are they aiming for? They mentioned "Standard vehicles" but what about future tanks and what not? Are they Durable? Can they withstand rough terrain? Are they weather proof? What is necessary to keep them in good shape; is maintenance easy? So many questions!

  • If they are engineered properly, I would so buy them. Plus they look awesome!

  • Will it work off road?

  • I don't this would work out properly at high speeds mainly because going at about 70 miles it looks like it could shred those tires in an instant... also the car gets heavy so it could push the tires and make them nearly like flat tires and theres a lot i have to say but i will end with this... i do not believe this can work out well...

  • @alilaznb0i510 Not everything comes out perfect the first time go....That's why they working from ground up...starting w/ small application then going up to big vehicles improving along the way....tires use to be wood...to what it is now....all improvements come w/ time...

  • seal off the outside of the tire with a clear plastic

  • interesting

  • That british dudes voice is everywhere

  • Tokyo. We. Want. Robots. Now.

  • @JesusPaid4You God doesn't need to beg for our attention.

  • WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU LIVE IN ARIZONA WERE ITS HOT , WOULD IN IT MELT CUS ITS PLASTIC!!!

  • @ImCESARG /CAPSLOCK

  • @ImCESARG everything in Arizona that is plastic melts?

  • @robertha WELL IF YOU LEAVE LIKE A CHEAP PLASTIC IN THE BLACKTOP WHEN ITS HOT THEN YEAH,

  • @robertha arizona and parts of texas , i live in el paso and it get over 100 degrees all day long and most plastic parts on the cars and other things melt and anything that is attached with glue breaks down...

  • if it aint broke dont fix it :/

  • ONE STEP CLOSER TO HOVERBOARDS

  • That's great that it will be recyclable, but what about traction control, heat durability, and shock absorption? these are all key elements to a great tire.

  • thats cool. japan has those tires on scooters. U.S. has those tires on military hummers.

  • I like that they noted that the materials used in the tire are easily recyclable. Rather significant since, as of the present, tire rubber can't be recycled into newer tires so we have to produce more rubber from raw materials.

I hope Bridgestone does eventually put these into production.

  • This is cool, but NASA made an airless wheel out of METAL years ago. Why as this taken so long?

  • this has already been done. check dis out michellin did it first :P unless bridgestone and michellin bought each other out or somtin /watch?v=pcdmH_hVWBY&feature=related

  • can i get one for my bike!

  • IS IT JUST ME, OR is there a one-time-profit for bridgestone? although this is a great idea, they DEFINETELY wont make large profit in comparison to regular tires if they are released. that being said, i would buy them 4 a car.

  • Suprise suprise, an asian guy came up with this..

  • damn can the japanese make technology, but fuck is there culture weird as hell.

  • Cute Japanese girl is like a full time job.

  • THATS NOT A CAR! THATS A MOTOR BIKE LMAO

  • English! Mother Fucker! English!! lol

  • lol at second comment

  • what?????? Michelin invented this tire back in early 2008. Michelin calls their invention the "Tweel". Don't believe me? research it.

    or watch this: /watch?v=qmL2LCb6q7Y

  • i thought the GUY at 1:12 was saluting the electric cart!

  • Comment removed

  • did it really take this long to re-invent the wheel? i thought of doing this in elementary school but my teacher said id never make it because the corrupt rubber industry would never allow it, too much money in tires.

  • i saw something similar on top gear a while back. anyone else?

  • Seems archaic that we still use tube tires filled with air anyways.

  • its made out of PLASTIC!

  • @llXxKhaosxXll so they dont pop when you run over a nail, and then have to spend 50$ at NTB cause you didnt get the warranty the last time you ran over a nail, LIKE A MONTH AGO.

  • Epic - sure looks like the future

  • put a flexible sidewall thing on the sides, problem solved.

  • Finally no more punchers

  • of course their asian...

  • @THESLINGSHOTchannel9 they're*

  • @THESLINGSHOTchannel9 being asian doesn't have shit to do with what people invent

  • thats a really cool design, cant wait to see the support load weight increased to a point were it can be used on cars

  • how would this hold in cold weather?

  • but I want my 20 inch rims :(

  • the sad thing is, no matter how many inventions there are, we will never use them.

  • Guy in the red and white jacket looks like a Japanese version of Mike Myers (snl, etc...)

  • MUSIC is LUV! Youtube/REGGIEWRITEOUS

  • Would not work on a car

  • What about if debris like mud, ice, rocks/pebbles etc. gets in between the spokes? What about maintenance? how much more does it cost?

  • But... will it blend?

  • Please check my video out it will help me out

  • No need to reinvent the wheel now.... get it?!

Okay, fuck you it was a terrible joke!

  • @SirJohnBonham eh, not great but an appropriate joke

  • again they stole a idea from americans...

  • @krisraps Well there not using it, so you know...

  • will it blend?

  • how about for drifting? will it able to take the beating?

  • I have an idea please view my channel im not trying to spam I just want you to see my idea about a Wind Turbine idea

PLEASE VIEW my channel and tell me what you think is it bad, good, will it work? if you think it will not work WHY?

  • chinese people are so smart….

  • @fratdaddy1 cough* japs cough*

  • @fratdaddy1 IDIOT THEY ARE NOT CHINESE. They are Japanese.

  • It can run on water too if they use the Maynex H2-Flex

  • Yes, this is very cool and all, but the real question here is why do the japanese blur out the penis in porn?

  • @Jeffersonwazright i laughed so hard at this comment

  • @Jeffersonwazright the questions is why do you want to look at some dude dick

  • @Jeffersonwazright LOL!!!!!!

  • @Jeffersonwazright Man who gives a fuck about the penis???It might as well be a banana nailed to a wall...Why do they blur out the vagina?...and if they ever decide to stop doing that why don't they shave it???

  • @yanniskusogaki LOL. I did not know they also did the vagina. It's all pretty weird.

  • @Jeffersonwazright it's illegal to show pubic hair in japan... and they have all have hairy dick and vagina's...so it all gets blurred

  • @Jeffersonwazright so they aren't embarrassed by the size

  • Wow 3 times the weight of a small moped is the load limit Amazing!!!!! Also, what about the massive drag (wind resistance) produce by the design?

  • @WOAHyourBoat What drag? Explain to me how these kinds of tires make any more drag than regular tires. (By the way, the drag of an object is proportional to its cross-sectional area, so good luck with that) Even if the spokes did cause drag somehow, it's very easy to cover them up. Finally, the amount they can carry might not be impressive now, but it probably will be later. Have a little faith.

  • @yhallotharlol

Thanks for your comment. I would estimate at speed less than 100 mph the air moving past the tire would not create a buffer zone and would flow into the tire and hit east forward face of each "Spoke" this is usually what occurs when you hear a buffeting sound in your car when the widows are rolled down to a specific point. Covering them could be possible and you got me their. As far as load limit it is very hard to scale-up without losing strength. But I'm certain

  • @WOAHyourBoat

They have that in the works. Great comment by the way you sound like you know what you are talking about.

  • @WOAHyourBoat

Correction I meant you got me there. not their oops.

  • these tires would be freaking heavy on a car

  • Also .. FUCK TIRES !! and fuck cars that use tires!! Build vertical take off cars. The tecnology is there.. To hell with traffic !!

  • @captcaveman4201 We can do that! Already, we have developed technology, like in Back to the Future, where you can use old aluminum can and dirty water to power your ride!! Yes Maynex H2-Flex can do just that for your car today in less than 10 minutes time!

  • Cars of today are BULLSHIT!! the fact is that 7 gallons of oil going into making 1 regular tire.. So until people stop making money off oil.. you wont see these anytime soon.. Just ask the Tweels guys. The corporations look at it from the perspective, that they can make more money off of tires that pop. That is the harsh reality of a dumb world that uses money.

  • @CLOFS there is air in tires for a reason.

  • airless tires ok what could be next

    screenless tv

    heatless toaster

    or holeless toilet:D

  • Menos ar e mais "borracha"? Que merda!

  • stones could be a big problem

  • love how the speaker sings on 1:44 :D

  • i like it, because i never rarely pump my tires, their always flat, get bad gas mileage because of that.

  • Or you can just get a chunk of solid rubber and call it a tire?

  • it's about time somebody makes no air tires. Alot people are sick & tired of having flat tires.

  • Are you all morons? The real tire will obviously be closed, they purposely have those spokes visible to show how it works since it is an auto show.

  • @VonNietzsche Did you not listen at the end of the video?

It says that Bridgestone expects release them with the spokes revealed and is trying to make it so that nothing gets in them.

  • @skaterfan1231 you are correct in that the video does in fact say that the plan is to leave the spokes revealed, however, before you call someone out you should probably put some thought into your comment. The final design must be enclosed, otherwise it is inevitable for material to collect between the spokes. we have not created magical force-fields as of yet, so an enclosure system will ultimately be necessary.

  • @thedruglikeaddiction If they were enclosed then I think that would defeat the purpose of not having to use tire pressure. If it were completely enclosed there would be tire pressure. Sure it would hold up if the tire deflated... But then what happens next? The puncture would spread more... and shit would get in it. And besides... I'm sure the Japanese are smart enough to come up with a way to do it. :D

P.S. I wasn't calling you out... you should probably "put some thought into your comment"

  • @skaterfan1231 you were calling out another person(VonNietzsche) that said the final version would have to be enclosed, not myself. sorry for any confusion.. what i am picturing, though, is some kind of clear rubbery covering that allows for the tire to serve its original purpose and still be visible, without the possibility of of debris collecting. A fine mesh would also do the trick. not trying to argue btw, just trying to figure a plausible way for this interesting idea to work

  • @VonNietzsche Your the moron, the guy stated that they didn't had a good way of preventing stuff to come in the tires, therefore not having a way to close the tire entirely. Which sounds likely since it would mess up allot of factors.

  • @VonNietzsche Are you the idiot? Watch from 1:35 to the end, and if they were covered? What ever would cover them will prevent them from bending...

  • @VonNietzsche 1:27 Don't call others morons without watching the video. The spokes will be revealed.

  • @VonNietzsche no fuckbag, that's not right. At about 1:50 the designer mentions that the open wheel design may have problems but they hope to stick with it.

Interestingly, you halfwit sack of bird dung, this sort of wheel was originally designed by NASA for the rover in the 1970s.

OTOH, you drueling toothless miscreant, German engineers developed tubeless wheels for their trucks before WWI. Go figure. Shit for brains.

  • @MalphRalphThe dude, you could have just replied kindly....

  • @MalphRalphThe

    U Mad Bro?

  • @MalphRalphThe tubeless tires have been around for thousands of years

  • @VonNietzsche they clearly said they are going to have the spokes show... are you a moron?

  • @VonNietzsche LMAOOO you've been demolished in all these comments bahahahaahhaha OWNED

  • @kramer1lad Actually you were all part of my psychology research experiment on the brainless nature of herd mentality and how internet anonymity leads to increased prevalence of vulgarity. You've all contributed wonderfully, so thank you. Don't worry though, I won't publish any of your "real" names, IP or locations.

  • @VonNietzsche LMAO love how you're trying to sound intelligent. Give it up kid, i'm already confident that i'm the smarter one out of the both of us. Successful troll is successful

  • @kramer1lad Is that really so? For someone who claims to be smarter than I am, it is ironic that you failed to use the correct "I" twice and omitted a period in your last incomplete sentence. Successful troll... now that's an oxy"moron". You're undoubtedly both?

    I'm done here.

  • @VonNietzsche LMAO well sorry mr perfectionist. Not every one is as perfect as you. (notice how i ended that sentence with a full stop)

  • @kramer1lad Actually it's called having an education and knowing proper grammar. It's Mr. Perfectionist and please don't waste time stating the obvious. Also it should be (Notice how I ended that sentence with a full stop). Seriously go graduate high school before making inane remarks online.

  • @VonNietzsche HAHAHAHA i think someone has a rod up their ass. Chill out bro, smoke a joint or two.

  • @kramer1lad Typical homophobic comment, so typical. I'm also not your bro and smoking is for low quality trash like you. I bet that's not the only thing you like to smoke right?

  • @VonNietzsche dw bro you'll be fine, just chill. Relax bro, you'll be ok, just keep doing your school work and your homework and you'll be smart like us faukland islanders :)

  • @kramer1lad Actually I'm German/Swedish hence the smartest School work and homework is the same thing dumb ass. Must suck to be a bitch ass colony of the Brits. Now go screw some more sheep and yourself, since you're probably used to doing that.

  • @VonNietzsche It's ok man, you'll be as smart as me one day. Just keep studying, keep motivated. I believe in you. I've won over 9000 academic awards throughout school and my time at UOC. Over 9000.

  • @kramer1lad It's stay motivated, and not keep motivated. UOC? HAHA they offer online classes for God's sake! 9000 awards really? Garbage awards I presume that have no value or weight to anyone who goes to a "real" university. You my friend has just shown your hands and lost. I've lost all respect for you. Good day.

  • @VonNietzsche yeh over 9000 awards. Over 9000. And that was when i had an archery accident where i took a stray arrow to my knee cap. I'm just a fucken boss, whereas you're just a cute little kid trying to sound smart LMAO

  • @kramer1lad Your mom got 9000 bangs, she gets over 9000 points btw, while taking an arrow to the knee. I'm just a total stud, whereas you're just a pathetic fat virgin attempting to articulate a comeback ROFL.

  • @VonNietzsche superb comeback, i admire your intelligence

  • Comment removed

  • Appreciate the innovation but why is this relevant now? Clearly the practical use of these tyres is years away. Why not focus on something that we can actually use right at this moment.

  • @nex85s Basically nothing that we could use right at this moment would even be worth the effort. Your asking for the impossible.

  • @nex85s You should start a committee.

  • Those gaps between lattices of thermoplastic resin can be filed with some very light flexible foam so dirt or ice should not affect balance

  • I can't wait to get these for my lawn mower.

  • press 5 for singing)

  • what happens when ice gets in all those groves and throws the tire completely out of balance?

  • e as carroças de boi e suas rodas sem camara de ar?

  • i wonder how these tires react to instant breaking

  • I remember watching these type of tires a few years back when discovery channel had a special about "future cars"

  • they could've spent the same amount of time making a hover car -__-

  • well to avoid something get inside the "lines" why dont you just cover the rest of outside tyre with something elastic like the same material and when the typre chnages shame the outside will act just like a normal tyre by "curving" to the outside!

  • Simpsons did it, Michelin did it!

  • Or you can just have solid tires

  • @monkeynicaud yea and what about suspension and noise and comfort! i dont want a car to be like the 1500 caravans :P

  • If they want to show the design off without things getting caught in the spokes, then why not try some kind of flexible transparent covering? *Shrug*

  • Cool, but was hoping for something that made Gundams a little more real.

  • I was going to mention Michelin did the same thing years ago calling it the tweel but looks like every one knows.

  • this has been around for awhile, its not totally practical.

  • @Wiredrawn173 was juss about to say the same thing.. watch?v=pcdmH_hVWBY
