Sorry to say this but you are a bad owner, you should spank your animal atleast once to let him know that you are the boss, this pet thinks he own the couch and barks at YOU for trying to touch him. Next time don't let your pet treat YOU AS A PET. Make it know that you are the Leader. Your chihuahua is acting dominant.

@aeriellefreak There are other ways to prove you're boss that doesn't involve spanking your animal. I won't preach on animal abuse because that's obviously not where you were going. I got my dog trained with a trainer at 9 years old. He used to attack people who came to the door and bark constantly, along with a few other problems. Now he just gets excited in a good way when someone comes over, then goes back to bed. lol

It never ceases to amaze me that control freaks who bully, dominate and obliterate their animal's personality consider theirselves good owners. This dog does not think he owns the sofa or he'd bite when the owner sat down. This is a dog's way of saying "I'm willing to protect our territory" while observing pack boundaries. My chi used to do this, but as soon as she was told to get down she would - without spanking.

@zhengjdc Chihuahua's are very territorial, even against their owners as seen in this video. Every one of them is like this. Many times they'll be all cute and shy, until they have a spot on the couch or Dad's La-Z-Boy chair. Then they go into protection mode.

But if properly trained, and not encouraged ever, even when cute and little, to act this way, you won't have a dog like this. Dogs are products of the people who own them - a well trained well loved dog doesn't do this stuff.
