The instrument is a Dusty Strings hammer dulcimer (distinctive bridges and soundhole) - same make as the one Rich played. As for getting an mp3 - its amazing what you can do with Real Player ;-) (anybody bothered about royalties - why don't you send a donation to Compassion?)

I found out what that instrument is - its called a santoor. Its similar to what Coldplay uses on "Life in Technicolor II", which is what it reminded me of.
