  • One of the most underrated Canadian bands, EVER!!! Incredilble live band. If you ever get a chance too see them, do so. You won't be disappointed.

  • their best song why isnt this on the radio

  • MY WEDDING SONG

  • he creeps me out tho,,,,

  • Deer Eyes likes this one.

  • Beautiful songwriting.

  • canadian musicians give thier heart and get strings and bows.

  • Been supporting Canadian music sinse the middle 90ths with bands like the Lowest of The Low, Hayden, The Watchmen and more, and I cant stop wondering why Canadian music like this never hits world wide. First time I heard this song and this band, and this song reminds me a lot of the music era I used to love back then. I feel there is tons of REM in this song, without even knowning what the rest will bring me tonite... (Great Stuff)

  • A hauntingly beautiful song...by an incredibly talented band. Another favorite song from back in the day..

  • This is an awesome song.. love the words, the performance.. everything, including the drummer just giving it.. and yet its a slow song.. really well done video I think. Thank-you for posting this.. its one of my favorites :))

  • Awesome...A simpler time in life for me.

  • @mc96af Funny, I'm the complete opposite. At the time this song came out, I was desperately single and hoping someday, someone would sing a song like this to me. So it was kind of a dark time for me. I'm glad others have good memories. I'm happy now. Those dark times are gone, so I can enjoy this lovely song more. :)

  • hi sandy

  • I will give you everything- including these lovely, simple lyrics. :)

  • Searching for music on youtube I accidently ran across this band and I love this song. Thanks for introducing them to me:) I will definately look for more by them.

  • I will give you everything but at the same time someone else is singing I will not chase you down... Talk about love tearing you apart!

  • man, i used to love this song back in the day. i still do but never listened to it in awhile. Such a great tune.

  • I find this a very interesting song for it is incredibly positive and affirming while soon after very firm about not following after his love if she leaves? I wish it did not have this negative part. i want to sing this to my love over and over without any hint of negativity.

  • Loved it the day it came out...still listen almost daily...

  • Beautiful song.. lovely harmonies.. and a great b&w video

  • cjuntrin - you said it best. This song is brilliant. It is simple yet astonishing. I really believe it is one of the best Canadian songs ever written.

  • Amazing song, overall. Thanks!

  • How can you not love this song?

    Fantastic.

  • Great song! Thank you Darlene for sharing this with me:-)

  • This song, for all of it's simplicity (much like the video) never fails to make me cry.

An absolutely fantastic song that sounds as good now as when it first came out.

  • I bought Skydiggers at Sam the Record Man - Downtown in the fall of 1990. I really loved that CD. Still have it.

  • just marvelous. remember this song came up on mp3 and everyone who was listening to it in class had no idea what it was but many liked it. :)

  • wooooow!

  • Andy was my roommate at Western , Medway residence, for the first half of our Frosh year. Great guy, one of the funniest guys I've ever met. He dropped out at Christmas. I guess he was destined for bigger and better things. Couldn't be happier that he made it big.

  • gooody sooong lol

  • Loved this song in '91. The band came to town a year later. Andy comes up, 'Hi, I'm Andy'!. I begged guitar picks from Peter and the bass player with the world's most dangerous sideburns. A great gig! Such talents guys!

  • Peter and Andrew Cash are my dad's cousins, so my second cousins! so proud! <3CASH

  • Canada' greatest song... EVER!

  • Thanks! I just about wore out my cassette, haven't been able to replace it. This is great!

  • What an amazing song! Has to be my most favorite song! Thanks guys!

  • yay! i love the skydiggers! i've been listening to them since i was 10 years old, they are great. bittersweet harmony is still one of my favourite CDs.

  • I had to go to Canada to get Skydigger albums before NAFTA , and then they stopped putting out albums, go figure

  • Among the most under-rated bands in Canadian music history, along with Cowboy Junkies, Spirit of the West and others. It's too bad most of the world only knows the crap music of Nickelback as Canadian rock. Their loss, but I wish Canadians would support gems like this more.

  • @cjuntrin not just Canadians, but all music lovers should support such wonderful songwriting and performing!

  • If I'm not mistaken, I first saw the Skydiggers open for Blue Rodeo in Brandon, Manitoba in the early '90's. What a dream lineup!

  • I used this one to woo my last Girlfriend. It worked. She's now my wife.

  • Great piece of Canadiana. There was so much great canadian music in the 90's that it seems only a select few appreciated. I'm sure there is some great Indy music not getting its due today because of the recycled packaging of todays music bands.

  • Great song. A lost piece of Canadiana.

  • spadina hotel dig

  • this soungs GRUNGE-esqe era (thats good)

  • Wonder where each member is from. Mabye different parts of Canada but truly Canadian I can smell it.

  • Actually, I think they are mostly from the Toronto area, but they're still great Canadians... :-)

  • Such a great band, love the harmonies. Does anyone know what happened to them? Thanx for the posting!

  • they tour often with the cash brothers..skydiggers,,are ..whats the word..a gem..absolute treat..if anyone has seen them live..u know there arent huge studio trix here..there vocal range, harmonies are simply amazing. for those that have never heard of these guys..think of CSN&Y. thanks for posting..

  • andy maize (lead singer) is head of maple records out of Toronto (signed Joel Plaskett, etc.) and still tours with the band. They still release albums regularly...

ps. his nephew plays drums in my band...just doin our part

  • this song has such a profound, personal meaning for me that i truly wish i could personnaly thank the band for recording it.

    wow talk about understatement:

    this song changed my life.

  • I JUST LOVE THIS SONG....

I saw them when they first started out....AWESOME...

  • I JUST LOVE THIS SONG....

I saw them when they first started out....AWESOME...

  • Simply the most under-rated band ever, even here in Canada.

  • This video won a couple of awards... first for best beard and second for best chops... yah!

  • I saw these guys perform at Christian Island, ON. I can't remember when?, what a treat though. It was a beautiful setting and an awesome line-up.

  • This is awesome! I just heard about this band and I'm hoping to hear more. Thank you for posting!

  • Where are these guys from? (in Canada)

  • Toronto

  • I meant to say proud! lol

  • I love this band, 'm prod to be Canadian

    well Newfie! lol

  • ...This is so nice...Thanks so much for the post......

  • Man this brings me back... what a great band.

  • Dude, Your uncle looks like Cam Neely. And that's not a bad thing. Great drummer, great group. I only realized last week that they are the guys playing road hockey in the Barenaked Ladies video "Lovers In A Dangerous Time."

  • holy shit my Uncle is the drummer !!!! ROCK ON lol

  • Simply one of the best songs ever written.

  • cant agree with you more

  • I love this song, it's one of my all time favourites! Thank you for posting! I tried to buy this song on iTunes, but it wasn't available yet.

I saw the Skydiggers live at the bandshell at the "Festival of Friends" with my sister and they were simply the best; great music on a warm summer's night while sitting on the grass in the park. I long for those long, carefree, summer days again....

  • Im so glad you like it... my uncle is the drummer! I already said that though

  • My nephew is the guy who said "that's my uncle".

  • I cried when I first see this music video. I don't remember when I first see this, but overall, it's a sad music video.

  • We used to drop everything if there was a Skydiggers show within 200 km of Calgary. One night at Sparky's ( old Cowtown room ) was so riveting that everyone simply stood transfixed: it was near Valentine's Day, and the whole place was full of couples... As a musician of 20 years, I still haven't seen another band not only read an audience as well as they did that night, but give us what we wanted with such sublime skill and devotion. It's still the best live show I've ever attended.

  • This song was part of the soundtrack of when my life completely changed. I was 18 and away from home in the mountains of the B.C. interior. I wrote my first in a book my sister gave me. Wow. This really takes me back.

  • one of my top 5 songs of all time.

  • Wow, I got goosebumps right away, memories of the Albion Hotel...was anybody else there? Skydiggers were there a lot... last time I saw them was a couple of years ago with the Cash brothers, what a treat! You could've dropped a pin in the audience, we were so riveted by their always-breathtaking performance.

  • One of my all-time favorite songs. Got to interview them for a university radio program for their next album, Restless, and was a little star-struck at the time. Great guys who ended up making some pretty darn great music. Thanks for posting this one.

  • This is one of those songs that songwriters wish they had written. Or people that start out in love wish they could say....

  • takes me back, haven't heard this in a while,

    great song

  • A simple yet powerful song... I was 20 years old and my first serious relationship with a girl had just crumbled when I heard this song on the radio back in 1990.

...17 years ago. Seems like yesterday as I sit here listening to this.

  • This is one Hell of a song!!! I love the beat too!!!

The words speak a particular message as well. Would anybody out there like to tell me what it is?? (I already know), but I'm curious to see if anyone else see's it like I do... just curious!

    Cheers,

  • I am in tears at the end of this song. Always. Man this takes me back to where I was in my life seventeen years ago.

  • This takes me back to 1994 when I was at art college. A friend had seen them live in Canada and brought me back a tape, I have been looking for their music ever since.

  • After a grueling night of work, I clicked on a link my brother sent me, and low and behold, a great piece of Canadian pop. NYC is where I live, but T.O. will always be home. Thanks for posting, and thanks to the boys for making truely great music.

  • met andy maize..classy guy!! his voice is so cool too..some say it can part lake ontario!!

  • I love these guys,,RMH

  • Oooh, thanks for posting this. This video is what got me into the Skydiggers. Check them out live whenever you can... they play Toronto every so often.

  • man i miss times like these cos the music was so good back then!

  • I Agree, Some of the (if you can call it music) I wouldn't give you a nickel for.

    Art

  • as in you'd give that nickel back (har har)

  • Most underrated band ever. Thank you for sharing.

  • Thank you for posting...its like its 1990..

  • Yeah Eh... Music sometimes has a way of Bringing us back to a part of our lives that brought joy!! or (Unfortunately) a part that brought us Sadness. Music is a big part (I believe) that helps steer our lives.

Where would we be without music???? music helps to sometimes decipher the Jumbled mess in our brains that we are trying to straighten out.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks for sharing this song. It's fabulous and takes me back!

  • WONDERFUL! such a great canadian band! my favourite is 'feel you closer' - 'i will give you everything' is my second favourite so thank you for sharing it!

  • wow this takes me back. I saw them 4 times in toronto, fantastic live and very underrated

  • A great song, and a great video. The Skydiggers are one of the most truly underapreciated music bands in Canada. More from them would be most welcome.

  • I just adore these guys. Their newest album with the Cash Bros is nothing less than I would expect...brilliant! Hope to see more from them posted on here. Robbi
