putting my order in for this car in a few weeks, white on with the nav, and 20 inch rims, test drove one yesterday and flies like s**t of a shovel, can't wait to have my own!
For whatever reason cars in this segment aren't even sold here in the US. GM is re-badging some Vauxhall machines as Buick now, but that's about it. You only really get over-priced germans like audi and mercedes, typical V8 rwd domestics from Caddy chrysler etc or something cheaper in a different class. A mid sized awd with a turbo 6? That's not an over priced audi? it would be nice if they sold one here.
Hmm dont like vauxhall. I mean think about it, they just take the car concepts from Opel and make their own Logo on it. Because of that there are so many fags out there, which comment on Corsa A videos with "This is a vauxhall nova".
On the other hand the Opel Insignia OPC is a really great car but by far not the best (@C7sCayman). Just think of Opel Commodore and Opel Omega Evo 500 for example. Unbeatable cars.
vauxhall my ass. Have an Audi A4 2.4 V6 it has been chipped. Also looks a damn side nicer than a vxr. Older cars are soo much better and look a lot less plastic
@Michaelswk93 my old man seems to like them and they aren't that bad a car but im a bit weird about the vauxhall v6's they are ok but their straight six was fab, also the Lotus Carlton is just a mind blowing car
@23chilled my dad used to have one it costed him 750 pounds but he had no problems with it a all :) omega was the first car i ever drove :) i think it had custom exaust because it really sound like a sports car , u used to get goose bumps after reving the engine lol , :)
@ovorocadili GM build cars to last? What the fuck have you been smoking? The previous Vectra was an awful car in terms of reliability, in fact much of the Vauxhall/Opel range are equally as notorious. The only reason their latest mid sized saloon looks half decent is because they were forced to build a car which might aid their balance book. At least if you buy a Kia or a Hyundai you're buying into a lengthy warranty and reliability.Vauxhall has nothing going for it whatsoever.I'd rather a Ford.
it's an American exercise that shows for whatever reason (guess what the reason is) we prefer to buy something which is perceivably British rather than German
@iainthornton well you are deluding yourselfs in any case...vauxhall doesnt exist non of the traditional english car makers exist they all been bought by russians indians and americans the only reasons you still have cars that look "british" is to trick fools like you in to buying them
how is it a trick?our buying habits told GM that we prefer the idea of Vauxhall to Opel, and so therefore the British public forced GM into keeping Vauxhall.I don't see how it's a 'trick',especially since we don't particularly see Vauxhall as British.and we buy more German than British cars, really it's nothing like what you say so really you're just trying to be offensive for no reason.
I don't want to be offensive to you,so please accept it's just a branding exercise.not a trick
My Cavalier is still going after 15 years and the only thing that's needed changing past the normal brakes\wheels\oil was the clutch. 190K on the clock and still climbing!
I'll probably buy one of these next, it's about time for a new car and if it's even half as reliable as the Cavalier\Vectra then that's twice as good as most of the crap on the roads these days.
@AernoutMJC Sorry the replies a little late. It's in the peak district Derbyshire, just outside Sheffield. A57 heading towards Glossop. Great views of Ladybower reservoir.
i know the vxr8 uses a supercharged v8 but i just love the sound of the v6! just like i love the flat 4 n flat 6 sounds, i dnt care about the power, the insignia is very nice one of the best looking beast vauxhall machines.
Fords look very ropey after 5+ years. They just seem to fall apart like French cars. Mondeos are seriously awful for looking tatty after the years pass. Vauxhalls are pretty middle of the road but you do see A LOT of them still knocking around after ten years+. They obviously build them to last.
It's true! My mate's 7 year old Focus has allready some electric failures, and the praised ultrasharp steering has allready some play in it. (car has just 55.000 miles on the clock)

@DKGate7Ultras
shut the fuck up,and learn to spell 'Vauxhall'
clearly you don't understand brand engineering
the fact is that once we had both Opel and Vauxhall but Opel wasn't popular
so GM focused on Vauxhall
to cut costs, they shared components
and eventually names too, so the Vauxhall Nova became Vauxhall Corsa
Opel Kadett became Opel Astra, and so on. and it wasn't the British who changed the name, since when is GM British?
