How do I save a project as anything else than a Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0 file? SO that I can open it in a different program, like VLC Media Player for instance.
No program can be saved as a different file and then opened in a different program. You can render the movie into a file, then put it onto your other program, but you can't literally save a file and use it on another program, not possible in any program.
Oh, audio delay? Well if you can actually see the audio track not lined up with the video on the timeline, you can actually click it and drag it to be lined up. If you mean music, same thing.
Hey, If you've got a video which duration is about for example 30 minutes long , and to make simple to use only some parts of the video are you able cut the video file into smaller part of clips? I think it would rather be annoying to search every single time single clip you want keep on timeline and cut rest out of the video in there.

You can't import music from iTunes (copyright) onto the video. I'm not saying that because it's illegal, but also the format that it's in prevents you from doing that (because it really is illegal). If you have a specific song you want, go to listentoyoutube (dot) com. Just paste the URL/link of the video into the box and hit "download mp3". Then choose the folder you want it saved in, and when it's finished downloading you can drag from the folder, hold over/let go on APE 8.

Friendly hints: Easy and clear cursor movements would have been nice, to be able to locate the buttons to click. As a beginner, I don't know where to click. Tell where to click and what it does when you click.
Also the frequent changes to the Notepad text explainations makes it even more difficult. Speak on the video instead of using text explaination.
You have to understand that this video was made in February. I was quite new with Pre 8 also. And the choppy mouse wasn't me, it was my recording program. It only capture about 15 frames per second, which is sloppy but its all i got. And the notepad switches to show you where to click BECAUSE my mouse was choppy

@EllismoreCA i ended up re-installing the disc because the adobe support couldn't figure out my problem and it worked just fine after i re-installed it :)
I am having the same adobe issue you are having. Try this and let me know if it works for you, it's how I get around it. Click computer, local disk C, program files, Adobe folder, Adobe premier elements 8 folder, scroll down to adobe premier elements 8 "application" which will have the purple icon and double click that, it should let you in no problem. Once you double click that there will be a grey blank screen. Go to file and open your project. Hope this helps you. Take care and good luck.

That is a very silly question. Of course you can add effects! You can do ANYTHING! This is one of the most powerful movie editors in america. And i don't know about reversing the clip. I'm sure you can i just haven't figured it out yet.
Well this is one of America's top movie editors on sale, and it is quite complicated if you want to succesfully edit a GOOD movie. So i do not recommend it for beginners. Start practicing with something like Premiere elements 6 or 7 to kind of get the feel of it before you go into 8. Or you could just go straight into 8 and just do the basics i just showed you.

@meechoT No, its just that your computer is too slow. It is a very CPU-consuming program. You could close all other programs that might slow it down, but you will either have to wait or get a faster computer/CPU...
@amzam7397 you can get it for free by dragging a .dll file into the folder... (Download the trial, and drag this .dll file into it and replace the old one that says "__days left" with "continuous"*
*(not literally, but in a computer language) It works with All adobe CS4 products and elements 7 and 8...
Quick question......do you know how to publish it in 16:9 ratio and so it will have the 720p HD option on YouTube? I know there is a download that allows you to do so in Movie Maker, but I don't have APE 8 and I'm wondering if you can save it so it will have the HD option once it's on YouTube.
Well, you can actually stretch the video its self in terms of aspect ratio. That is easier but u can always go to the green button, projects, and select the clip and right click it and click interpret footage. Then you can change the aspect ratio there. If you upload to youtube using the direct uploader, it will be in 1080p format, so thats even better than 720p. Hope this helped.

Well, it may be the resolution of your monitor. the system requirements is 1280 x 720 resolution. trry changing that. If that doesn't work, try buying a new monitor, or changing ur graphics card.
Hi. I've been working in the program for a year or so now and just installed it in a new computer. The look is completely different from what you have above (and what I had before). Monitor panel's in the center and very small, the dark workspace has gone to light blue, bits and pieces have been moved around, etc., etc. Whole thing is really hard to read. Think I got updated to a newer version on the install? Thanks if you can offer a clue.

ok, so im thikning of making a one man band with this program , like i rec myself playing drums , and guitar and i put it together to sound like one band... is it possible to edit the sound with this program, incase im too early on a beat with the drums or something? also is there a limit on how many videos we can put together to make one?
I'm glad you asked these questions. First of all, you can edit sounds by splitting clips, and adding sound effects. In timeline, there is multiple audio tracks and you can mix your audio together. And so you can move the audio track if you want to get the beat you want. And yes, there is a limit on the timeline. I think its 34?

Can anyone help me? Whenever I use my Adobe Premiere Elements 8, it always lags. I don't know how to fix it. Do I convert my video files or what? Or do I need to install something? Please help!

@meechoT No, its just that your computer is too slow. It is a very CPU-consuming program. You could close all other programs that might slow it down, but you will either have to wait or get a faster computer/CPU...

@amzam7397 you can get it for free by dragging a .dll file into the folder... (Download the trial, and drag this .dll file into it and replace the old one that says "__days left" with "continuous"*
*(not literally, but in a computer language) It works with All adobe CS4 products and elements 7 and 8...

Quick question......do you know how to publish it in 16:9 ratio and so it will have the 720p HD option on YouTube? I know there is a download that allows you to do so in Movie Maker, but I don't have APE 8 and I'm wondering if you can save it so it will have the HD option once it's on YouTube.

Well, you can actually stretch the video its self in terms of aspect ratio. That is easier but u can always go to the green button, projects, and select the clip and right click it and click interpret footage. Then you can change the aspect ratio there. If you upload to youtube using the direct uploader, it will be in 1080p format, so thats even better than 720p. Hope this helped.

Well, it may be the resolution of your monitor. the system requirements is 1280 x 720 resolution. trry changing that. If that doesn't work, try buying a new monitor, or changing ur graphics card.

Hi. I've been working in the program for a year or so now and just installed it in a new computer. The look is completely different from what you have above (and what I had before). Monitor panel's in the center and very small, the dark workspace has gone to light blue, bits and pieces have been moved around, etc., etc. Whole thing is really hard to read. Think I got updated to a newer version on the install? Thanks if you can offer a clue.

Wel, i dont know about watermarks, but theres always annotions! You can insert fashionable graphic annotions in any part of the clip! And yes there is a direct youtube uploader that allows you to easily export your finished video directly to youtube,

ok, so im thikning of making a one man band with this program , like i rec myself playing drums , and guitar and i put it together to sound like one band... is it possible to edit the sound with this program, incase im too early on a beat with the drums or something? also is there a limit on how many videos we can put together to make one?

I'm glad you asked these questions. First of all, you can edit sounds by splitting clips, and adding sound effects. In timeline, there is multiple audio tracks and you can mix your audio together. And so you can move the audio track if you want to get the beat you want. And yes, there is a limit on the timeline. I think its 34?
