As usual when discussing this episode, it looks like EVERYONE MISSED THE GIGANTIC BLOOPER! Buster is supposed to be shocked by the 1960s, because he's originally from the 1890s, right? Then why the holy heck is he NOT dressed in even one single stitch of clothing from the 1890s? Oops! His shoes, suit, shirt, bow tie and even his hat are instead from the 1920s! And why does nobody notice this huge blooper? Most folks are just used to seeing Buster dressed 1920s style, when he first became famous!
Frame by frame, watch the hand and wrist of the actor playing the scientist and holding the time helmet...there is always more than meets the eye.
love this video...make that 101 people, it's a brain teaser...it was probably easier, cheaper and faster to bounce Keaton around through time than to try to create futuristic props for the movie. excellent find
Buster Keaton's last film was "A funny thing happened on the way to the forum" mid-60s. He looked an old man then (but cancer may have aged him - he died under 6 months later). He looks late middle-aged here, so maybe 20 or even 30 years after his silent stardom early 50s, for us 1960 hard to tell apart. The cars look early to mid 50s (hell, 'Back to the Future 2 - 2015' includes a Citroen Safari that went out of production in 1976! - I used to own the saloon model!).
In 1961, he starred in The Twilight Zone episode "Once Upon a Time", which included both silent and sound sequences. Keaton played time traveler Mulligan, who traveled from 1890 to 1960, then back, by means of a special helmet.
@ guerillagalleryg Very clever of you to see the comedic potential for this clip featuring Buster Keaton. Especially in this "Time Travel" clip from TwiZo.
Buster Keaton start his career around 1940s when the 45rpm was first introduced. This film maybe created in that period, and the device that shown in the "future" was only "NEW" back then...so its look like futuristic.

Yeah I'm sure inventing something that requires future tech can be created in the 1920s. YOU PEOPLE MAKE SOME KIND OF SENSE!

An eleborate photoshop or something. If there truely was a time traveler it would harm the universe somehow.
