The purpose is to probe for weaknesses and see if they stand the test. Apparently, she did.

Appointees are supposed to be tested; that's why conservatives hated what the demonrants did to Bush's nominees; they wouldn't even test them but refused them before even speaking to them - bunch of punks that they are.

As I recall the Democrats rolled over and gave Roberts & Alito a lifetime appointment while barely making a whimper. So they filibustered a few lower court judges, BIG DEAL, A lower court judge and a five dollar bill will buy you a cup of coffee.

Bork was called a racist by a Senator because he dared actually believe that everyone was equal before the law and was driven to withdraw his own nomination.

The Supreme Court has ruled that children have the right to privately practice their religion in school, if there has been any incident where somebody has been put in detention for doing so, it was because the school administration was not properly informed of their students' civil liberties and the student should contact the ACLU which will defend them.

As for abortion, I'll agree to ban it after every orphan in the world has been adopted.
