  • The acting is good enough, but they could have at least tried harder to make the main character look more Asian... I mean, he just looks like a white guy with eye problems...

  • The yellow man? as in Asian?

  • This movie is scary because of its realistic drama. I cringed through the film a few times and felt bad for the young woman who had nothing.

  • i hope people who are watching this know that the main character who is so call playing the role of an Asian man is a white man with tape on his eyes. lol

  • The yellow man. Haha

  • beautifull!

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • Lillian Gishis so flawless in this picture.

  • They have real Asian extras!

  • .........this sucks.

  • @mlbizzoco thats what she said

  • Its truly amazing that this film was made during a time of Yellow Peril sentiment, and also by the same director who made Birth of a Nation. Although a caucasian actor play the role of the "yellow man" (actually his name is Cheng Huan, wonder why they dont give him a name, does it make him too human and not exotic?)

  • i always wanted to watch lillian gishes other films :]

  • The sun must be in his eyes. He keeps squinting!

  • lol

  • lol that huge hat is absolutely useless apparently.

  • @EchoArchAngel hes chinese hes supsosed to squint! lmao

  • @EchoArchAngel lol yess. Or he squints like that to have smaller eyes like Asians like myself :O

  • Ugh. I just wish the boy would open his eyes a little. He looks blind.

  • i think Griffith was trying to distance himself from racism of Birth of a Nation when making this movie

  • i disagree because the essential message of this film is for the races to stay with their own, and to not intermingle.

  • Yes, humans should only mate with other members of the human race. I'm all for that. "Broken Blossoms" may have some out of date, era-specific elements, but if anything, it reminds us that power isn't only allowed to those of high character; physical appearance and heritage shouldn't prompt automatic distrust-- sometimes those you've been conditioned to trust most are also the most dangerous.

  • gotta watch that for my uni :) its a good film though, i like it :)

  • 'Cracker'? Really?

  • well well who wrote all that? residuals from "The Clansman" i guess, what can i say? lots of partying and D W gets reemed. no regrets language a bit.

  • Hmmm....should be interesting to see a young Donald Crisp in this.

  • Good part: this film and other classics from that period still exists. Sad part: nobody will ever make films of such class as these. I feel very fortunate to have seen it.
