@vickientrekin also check out my really short videos "Silk Thread Earring Demo" and Silk Thread Earring Demo Update" shows different patterns and how they wrap.
@2winplay Errr... someone asked me that already was it you? Anyway you can get, for sure, the gold and silver 'seed beads' at you hobby shop you should be able to get the colored beads there too - though I think someone said they were having trouble locating them - you might have to get them online.
I have an idea for multicolor - begin your first color, but as you string skip a space. When that color is complete, then come back with a second color and fill in the spaces. Or to do 3 colors you'd skip 2 spaces.
Thanks for this video. I keep seeing these in the store and thinking that i needed to figure out how to make them. Now I can just follow your video and make my some in the colors my daughter loves.
@LadyBehindTheScene Really great to hear that. And make a pair for yourself while your at it, slightly smaller with a limited palette maybe different shades of the same muted color with a black polo neck, very urban chic.
I went and got some 18 gauge and some 20 gauge wire yesterday and will be trying my own little version, with your help. Thanx again for sharing ur craft!
hello: Sorry to write so many posts ... but it was misspelled. I hope you understand. I really like these earrings but I have a doubt! as I can make the wire coiled spring does? in your vidio not explain. Thank you.
@TheMuxiana That's okay. See my very short video - How to Make a Homemade Coiling Gizmo youtube.com/watch?v=-ZxBvErg1XQ Also see this even shorter update video it has a demo of the coiler and shows how to use it. Update Video to How to Make a Homemade Coiling Gizmo youtube.com/watch?v=sZ0s9gTyF4M
@Tawhidlover Hey I didn't know that thnx for the info, I do prefer a thicker coil though and tend to use 18-22 gauge, I used 18 gauge in this vid which is pretty thick for thread earrings and looks really great. Gives your earrings a really substantial look - know what I mean. P.S. the higher the gauge # the thinner the wire, the lower the # the thicker the wire.
@Tawhidlover i make these earrings too and you can buy a coiler for 10$ at jo-anns fabric and save a ton of money by coiling it yourself =D its a very easy tool to use and saves tons of money if you plan to mass produce these.
@grivero8 Have you seen "How to Make a Homemade Coliling Gizmo" I kinda show how near end of that vid. If you've viewed it and its not clear how, let me know and I'll show you, no probs.
@grivero8 you can use a conduit and a wire hanger if you want to make your own coiler but they dont work quite as easy as one purchased from jo-ans for only 10 bucks =D
Okay I'm guessing you found "Silk Thread Earring Demo". Thanks for the compliment.
