  • Beautiful.

  • this is really good but I'd just like to make one comment, at the beginning you were playing the top strings.... you're not supposed to do that, those are meant to be sympathetic strings (trust me, i'm an indian)

  • you got the style for it to sound like the real thing

  • It really sucks when you mix a guitar and sitar becaus the only name the company can think of is sitar.

  • wow... so nice!!

  • were at and what under

  • Musician's Friend has them for $350

  • It's a guitar pretending to be a sitar

If you know the sound of a sitar then you will know this is not one

Its a new instrument and perhaps it needs it's own music but it is a shame sitar music can not be played on this. Sorry

  • @77Elizabeth

Aint that new....Coral sitars have been around since the 1960's

  • WHERE CAN I BUY ONE? ??,,

  • I had no idea sitars had been electrified, I am so out of the loop, always loved sitars though.

  • how do you get the guitar sound like a sitar? is it an effect pedal?

  • thank you

     THAILAND...

  • Oh this is awesome!

  • impressive (both sound and your playing).

  • is there any way to turn an electric guitar in to a sitar sounding one like yours?

  • i think im stoned :S

  • sitar is one of so many brilliant instruments from india

  • well im trippin on wats relly goin on so i knoe lol

  • that was awesome!!!....made my day!!

  • Do these come in left handed?

  • Beautiful.

  • all u fucking potheads should graduate to real man drugs like heroin!

  • @greeneups lol

  • beautiful finger tech....

  • Wow, that actually imitates a real sitar much better than I expected. Also, great playing.

  • Holy shit this guys good!

  • so what if I tune my guitar in CGCGCD#? would it sound like this? probably not. can I not by a part to put on my guitar?

  • wow, I want my guitar to sound like a Sitar. How did you do this? did you tune it differently? how did you tune it? or are you using a pedal?

  • @MrOscarMurphy It's a model of "Guitar" Rogue produced, It is basicly a Sitar, But in a simplified shape, The thing NATURALLY sounds like that, The crappy thing though is Rogue discontinued this model.

  • @MrOscarMurphy its an electric sitar lol

  • can you do Smoke On The Water?

  • This is great you learn something new every day i did not know that there was an Electric Sitar, I grew up with the classic version of the Sitar, Kudos to the player.

  • what are the strings at the top for?

  • @111DiemCarpe I'm no expert, but I believe that they drone sympathetically even when you aren't playing them .

  • @Hoopermazing Hence the name sympatrhetic strings

  • @MunkdGuru I'd never heard of "sympatrehetic" strings... nor even sympathetic ones for that matter.

It certainly makes sense that strings that resonate sympathetically would be called that.

  • SPLENDID

  • Wow, good playing there, nice !

  • MUST GO!!!!!!!! MUST BUY!!!!!!!

  • listen ths is cool, but i think everyone but me and ineedanewtubeaccount have had drugs before

  • Oh god this is so beautiful.

  • @moryuf yeah, i could tell by all the feathers on it's head .

  • Very Shankar-ish! Well done!

  • great job! it sounds really good.

  • i really like how u play a mix of western and eastern styles of playing.

    Fantastic work.

  • Awesome! Finally someone who can actually play the damn thing!

Also a great job on the homemade acoustic.

  • you are a very gifted person

  • This is incredible! Well done!! What kind of strings do you need for this?

  • @moryuf Yea I know a sitar is Indian.

  • :-) ohhhh , very nice job :-)

  • Awesome job.

I guess you don't really play an electric sitar like you would a sitar. But you don't play it like a guitar either. Maybe one can approach it like a "middle eastern banjo"?

  • Fucking absurdly excellent playing on a very interesting instrument.

  • Very cool!!

    Many Blessings..

  • i'm damn tired about people instantly associating the sitar with getting high and that's it, same with bob marley. also props to the musician here, nice blend of style and skill.

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount lol but sitar music and bob marley is 700 times better when high. its incredible when not high also, but when ur high it literally surrounds you and it kinda feels like you are IN the music, its totally wierd to explain, but thats as best as i can. i also found that the song 'hummer' by smashing pumpkins is one of the best things to listen to high also. totally engulfs you in the music

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount

Well, mostly I think it's because sitar sounds like god while high.

    Trust me on that.

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount shut up and smoke

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount

you've got to admit it's a whole different experience when you're high

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount not me i associated it with courage the cowardly dog

  • @ineedanewtubeaccount you do have to admit the sitar is pretty trippy though

  • Very Good!

  • Very cool, nice playing!

  • Thats killer!

  • Play wherever I may roam pls

  • Ikea chair!

  • Amazing! I want one now!

  • i bet the electric sitar would sound brilliant with an ebow!

  • @TokenRecluse That's exactly what I thought when I first heard one of these things!!!

  • excellent sound and playing!

  • thers a song called fields of sound by motherjane.... listen to the solo in this song.....the classical effects which the lead guitarist has played is awesome....tell me how to play this on guitar.....plz coz even my guitar teacher is not able to help me...

  • I used to have a Jerry Jones version of this instrument. After seeing this, I wish I would've known to try tuning it like that instead of guitar tuning. With it tuned like you have it, the other strings ring out more. Wow, thank you for sharing this.

  • hey dude im tryin to play classical on my guitar but its too hard....i mean the classical effects are too difficult to play on guitar,......plz help me out

  • @kaustubh10000 u just gotta play the hell out of it man. it'll get easier

  • props!

  • damn man i can see elephants and smell all these beautiful spicy food in my room ;)

  • Wow! Both you and this "creature" are truly amazing! I've been looking for a southpaw model on line, for my kids band -- wondering first how they might sound -- and now I'm sold! Thanks for the post!

  • yes C Lydian, very nice, great playing

  • That was cool man ..Thanx

  • oohh my godd that sounds niceeeee

  • Awesome idea: Make one with a fretless neck, and play on your nails!

  • i dont think the sympathetic strings (tarab) are tuned correctly try low to high ccbcdefgabcc

  • damn!

  • it really sounds like a sitar! i was suprised sorta O_O! im getting one!

  • instead of doing all these crap, why dont you buy a real sitar man ????

  • what is your opinion of the rogue sitar? should i get one...or just hold out and get the real jerry jones one?

  • This was awesome but everyone needs to check out .com/watch?v=pweWM43rwuI

Listen to the sitar solo starting at 00:18. It's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Heartbreakingly stunning. Classical Pakistani stuff.

  • Btw add "Youtube" before the ".com".

  • very impressive. try adding some more modulation ie. string bending!? but nice hammer-ons and slides. great vid :)

  • Well I listened to Philby and as much as I love Rory Gallagher, he's got nothing on this guy. He plays it like the real thing. I just wish he'd make a 15 minute piece and slowiy build to the conclusion, instead of giving just a "greatest riffs" version in 2:13. Wonderful sound, wonderful playing. you just know what to do. Do some more, please.

  • they need more music actually like this

  • .........................

  • amazing!!

  • AWW Man! Great sound...what kind of amp did you use

  • Listen to "Philby" by Rory Gallagher.

He used a Coral Sitar, look for the Rockpalast video.

  • @MITCHWILD I was just going to say that (Top Priority is my fave Rory album :)

  • Philby, by Rory Gallagher.

  • Very well done. I can just smell the hash smoke.

  • @reportanddeport ?? sitar is not abouut drogs !

  • @reportanddeport oh don't worry man, just playing instrument will having you dancing with the ganja and reach enlightenment.

  • 'if YOU'RE interested" and WHETHER OR not", how about using a dictionary there, buddy?

  • i really want one of these!

  • TO EVERYONE ASKING ABOUT TUNING:

He's got it tuned to OPEN C.

With Open C, use one of the following for "Indian-Style" tuning of the sympathetic strings. (Use the 4th and 5th octaves or else any higher you will break some of them!)

    C B C D E F G A B C D E F

    B C G D E F G A B C D E F

    G A B C D E F G A B C D E

BUT if you tune the Sitar to standard guitar tuning, the sympathetic strings are supposed to be tuned as follows, longest to shortest string:

    E5 F#5 G5 A5 C6 A5 G5 F#5 G5 A5 C6 D6 D6

  • Love the quarter tone slurs you use.

  • Certainly looks a lot easier to master than a traditional one. All you got to do is learn to tune the drone strings and you can tune the 6 strings the same as a guitar. While you use the note strings, you just pluck the rest for the droning effect.

  • O_O!!!!Amazing!!!!!

  • nice

  • Ohhh.....i definitely want one of those!

  • awesome!

    what tuning are you using?

  • steve vai!!!

  • @Mechanix1911 Pat Metheny

  • Is your main instrument guitar or sitar? What style?

  • very good !

  • sounds very cool

  • I have the same chair!! :- D

    by the way, nice music

  • Beautiful!!!

  • are you self taught or were there lessons involved? how hard is it to learn would you say? I've just got to get me one of those.

  • The headstock reminds me of an old decca from the 60's... Also, that was amazing.

  • ~3~ ...... (in a trance) *HAAAAAAAAAMMMMNNNNN*!

  • that was really amazing! just a question, does anyone know how sweep picking sounds on that?

  • beautiful...

  • are electric sitars tuned the same as regular electric guitars

  • yeah :D

  • I'm not going to lie, but that was completely amazing

  • You play it like an actauly sitar, which i really appreciate. Seriously, quality work.

  • Beautiful work, my friend. It was a joy to hear one of my favorite instruments in such capable hands.

  • Legit. You seem to understand what it's about. You have the music in your soul!

  • what tuning? and how are the drone strings tuned?

  • Wow! that sounded pretty much like a real sitar. But your skills were amazing unlike other people ive seen.

  • I want one! and the skills to play it of course...

  • How well does that one work? Because it doesnt get great reviews on musiciansfriend

  • don't go off of reviews, try and find one and play it first. It sounds fucking brilliant here, so much so that I'm aiming to buy one very soon.

  • Sounds greeeaaat! Wonderful!

Close to the real deal if you really know how to play. And your playing is wonderful!

  • Awesome! I own one but don't play anywhere NEAR as well as this dude! How did you tune this if I may ask?

  • amazing playing and sound. a++++++++ i want one. and a sitar bass. who can make me a sitar bass ???????

  • There is a Variation on the sitar that is tuned 1-5 steps below an average sitar. It would be cool if someone could make a electric version \m/(*_*)\m/

  • I think the main strings sound very good and authentic, but the sympathetic strings just sound like an out of tune autoharp

  • Yea... he should tune them....

  • But you can tune them to make them sound like an in-tune electric autoharp, which actually wouldn't be a bad thing to have at all.

  • Cool! what tuning are you using

  • Very Good!!

    authentic

  • It's not meant to be a sitar, it's a different instrument. And this guy knows damn well how to play it. So show some respect.

  • @Bionuker its called a electric sitar though

  • @Bionuker dont say respect its a really annoying word

  • @MsBobohj

no, why? Respekt is one of the best words on eart, besides love, peace, humanity etc. it´s just what you connect to this word in your mind and what do you feel if you think about this word. Looks like you don´t feel something good, but I do.

  • Hey man, you need electric's guitar amp for this instrument??

  • I'm impressed. Thanks Vinnie Bell for inventing the electric sitar

  • great style dude, that was really good!

  • This looks just like Agile one at rondomusic (under acustics) and it was 389$

  • Wow... I want one now...

  • I'm thinking of buying one of these, is there anything I should know before I spend the money?

  • where did you find that guitar its amazing?its a parker right?

  • Oh,It's not a Parker guitars! This Is made

by Jerry Jones Guitars. Originally electric sitar was made by

Coral by Dan Electro. Now these are too expensive!

  • ur a fuckin moron its a rogue guitar it says in the info about the vid...AND you can fuckin read it on the headstock!

  • This is a copy of a Jerry Jones model

  • God, people never read the damn descriptions...

  • The Jerry Jones is a copy of the Danelectro Coral

  • You have a very exclusive sound, I love it!

  • Omg.

    Where did you get this?

  • i am so jealous

  • Oh that's cool! :D

    Nice video :)

  • I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD lol

  • what's the sound at the beginning?

sounds like someone is jacking off behind the camera:P

    Anyway, cool video:) nice.

    what tuning are you in?

  • what is the tuning you are playing in? id like to try it on guitar

  • That's very impressive! Sounds like you've been studying Indian music for a bit. Do you find that the sympathetic strings add a lot to the sound? I can't hear them too much in this clip.

  • Wow and that's a Rogue? How have you liked it so far? Is the workmanship good?

  • that was killer dude

  • DUDE That Was Awesome LOL i really mean it. It was AMAZING BRO

  • Thanks for posting this! After hearing you play, I'm strongly tempted to buy an electric sitar myself. Great sound, and you're a great player!

  • Very tasteful and melodic!

  • Is this a Vox Phantom? :P
