there is a kind of kinship amongst all real muscicians,Stevie was rite about the artist statement, when some1 as talented as John succumbs in such a shocking way it crosses all music genre's.Stevie is about the music so was John, its the music that drives u when u r a musician. We are missing so much music now becoz of the 8th dec, Paul recorded w/Stevie John may have 2, I know Stevie & John had rubbed shoulders a few times, I'm sure in time Stevie & John wouldve eventually have recorded 2gether
Stevie Wonder is the King of Funk.. and a top top guy... bless him... oh yes,, love is all there is... tear in eye as I wrote that listening to Stevie explain :(((
After all that John went thru to stay in the USA... He made it abundantly clear in all of the 1980 interviews that he was out of the political and into his family life. But they still had to assassinate him. People magazine ran a two issue interview with MDC & his mental problems in the mid 80's where he talked about being king of these people he drew on his bedroom wall. But none his supposed mental issues arise at parole hearings.
What a different world it was without cell phones and social media. If someone the caliber of John Lennon were to die today, it is known simultaneously by everyone. Stevie's words would not have been nearly as shocking today, though he certainly spoke of it in class, that likely would not have changed.
@ToLokyo - Yep, the one and only Geraldo. He actually lived in a building across the street from the Dakota (where Lennon was shot) and heard the shots when they happened. Shortly afterward he found out that it was Lennon who had been shot and he rushed to the TV studio. By then Lennon was already dead.

That's the damndest thing I've ever seen. Almost a comfort of positive feeling for it to be Stevie that saw that (didn't know he liked football) and then told his audience. He did it with grace and didn't just blurt it out as some might have. Keep this video online as it will gain many views by this time next year. Thanks for the upload. So odd to be filming at that moment.

Do you think that Stevie Wonder or John Lennon would be happy with most of the current posts that I am reading below?
Find another playground to fight in.
Most of us do not give a crap about you're personal problems whatever they may be.
Grow up... or take it somewhere else.
Stevie and John do not deserve your stain!
(I guess some people haven't actually watched this video... and accepted the MESSAGE!)
Peace.

That report is Geraldo's finest work. Every time I see it I find it difficult to relate it to the man we see on TV now
