I am a REAL beginner and I really don't have any clue what a composition is, why it is made, what it is useful for. I don't get anything, from beginning to the end. Sorry.

@MiljardRSMV A composition IS your work. Its where everything you make and edit goes into your comp or composition. You start a new comp, add stuff to it, edit it, play around with it then when your happy with it, render out your comp than export the video into your video editting software (eg; Adobe Premier Pro, Sony Vegas, Final Cut Pro, iMovie or Windows Movie Maker)

If you want to move the clouds, you can just set the clouds to rotate at the same speed as the Earth.

@Ricky32908 you could go to the noise cloud layer and go to "Rotation Y" and create two key frames that are set equal to the "Rotation Y" key frames in the first layer

you could have added rotation to the fractal noise layer too ..... and obviously kept the same speed of rotation that you kept for the earth .... that way the clouds would move too .... XD ..... thanks for the tutorial, great work.

hey if you want stars you can just add fractal noise on a black solid, then change the scale to 3 and adjust brightness and contrast

i just got after effects and when i add a clip to the timeline it only plays in half speed on the preview screen and theres no audio

well in adobe after effects preiewing what your doing there is no audio and the reason it is in half is because it needs to render(the green bar) and you can get audio by pressing 0 or the period button ( . )

Great tutorial but I have a suggestion regarding the clouds. If you would have parented the clouds to the rotating earth or just rotated the clouds it would have looked more "realistic". But that's just my opinion.
