Some reptiles like the crocodile were ancestors to the reptile living in the ocean, just like before, Life started in the water and soon fish began to evolve into Dinosaurs, because the meteor had small effect on the ocean inhabitants, that's kind of what happened for the crocodile and alligator. i think that the meteor didn't kill them off. i think it killed a good 20% though in the intial impact. and then disease came, and soon the carnivors ran out off food cause the herbivors died off with no plants cause the blast. it was the after affects of it that killed them.

Scientist don;t believe that continents shift, its a fact. The crater is located in a stable area, look at a geological map & you will see there are no fault lines near it. It has been filled with sediments and was found only by gravity anomaly & confirmed by core samples.

I do believe the meteor strike could have destablized the position of power the dinos had on the planet, dinos look very strong but where likely very fragile and not very adaptive to new things.

A species cannot descend from an existing species. Since apes still exist, it is impossible for us to have descended from them. We have a common ancestor with the ape that is now extinct.

well for starters: "Ape" is not a species. Beside the point but: Yes you can descend from an existent species that still exists due to geographical isolation. If you even know what that is. Australopithecus afarensis was the first of the walking APES. So yes, we did evolve from 'apes' going down the family tree with converge with the chimp -bonobo then the gorilla, then orangutang until we reach the conman great ape ancestor. So perhaps you should find new 'SCIENCE' to 'READ' before you speak.

A species can evolve differently than the parent species if some sort of isolation has occured. Australia would be a PERFECT example of this. Scientist don;t believe that continents shift, its a fact. The crater is located in a stable area, look at a geological map & you will see there are no fault lines near it. It has been filled with sediments and was found only by gravity anomaly & confirmed by core samples.

i strongly disagree that a meteor wiped out the dinosaurs, because if a meteor really hit Earth that hard to cover the sun, then that would change the degrees, and the nearness to the sun, and even a little change in the degree, or the nearness, would change the earth so much organisms would not survive, i think that a smaller meteor hit a large volcano(bigger than Mt. Helen), and triggered the explosion of the volcano. Make sense? haha
