Yes this video is in 3d -you do need the specs - go & ask a cinema for some free ones orange left/blue right - this is good , I just watched to 103d fims on tv - they said petshop boys one some 3d viids-probably more -just we dont know it!!
OMG this has new footage for me! parts of the original video that didnt appear there! :D :D :D :D sooo loving this vid, and even more THE GIRLS' look!!! that haiir omg <3
Yes it still works. I still have my glassies from when it was broadcast.
The compression spoils the effect a little but it does still work.
This type of 3D filming uses a technique that exploits what is known as the Pulfrich effect. It is not the same as the red and green anaglyph system or the polarized lens system. With Pulfrich 3D, If you use one tinted lens over the right eye it should work just as well.
I remember watching this! There was some explanation in Radio Times about the 3D thing, apparently it only worked properly when the camera was circling round clockwise, which would account for some of the strange camerawork in this clip - wasn't there also an episode of EastEnders and a Doctor Who segment in 3D?
I have a bit of the Doctor Who/Eastenders combo bit too, they played it for about 30 seconds a time, and you had to phone and vote for what happened next, which would be about 30 minutes later - I'll upload the bit I have

This 3D style is called the "Pulfrich Effect"
A easy way to make 3D glasses for this video is to get a pair of sun glases and take one lens out - try it! Or you could cover one eye with one lens.

I didn't think they did that kind of thing - Children In Need that is??

lol :)
Children in Need used to be so much better...well, the quality of bands that were on it anyway - obviously its still for a good cause.
