  • I love this song. though DO note the beautiful Magritte lampshades, too. Wonderful idea :)

  • Preferred the first album, then the second one 'elsewhere'...thought the first album was magnificent!

  • Beautiful song, very Nick Drake. Plus, can't help feeling slightly attracted to the celloist.

  • I think is a good song...but his vocal perfomance..is not totally great !

  • sounds really good, great performance!

  • Great song.. anyone knows the tune he's using in these performances?

  • @TheJuliusJT DADGBe

  • sounds like nick drake but still great

  • awsome song, his vocal effort is preety weak on this effort though! no offence 2 him though, he's awsome

  • Big up Danny Keane on cello, one of the most gifted musicians I've ever met, brilliant pianist and string arranger too x

  • This is one of those songs that every time you hear it it brings back vivid memories of where you were and what you were doing when you heard it the first time. I love songs like that.

  • how can some dislike this? even if you don't like the music, appreciate the musicality. O my bad you probably like basshunter

  • A truly beautiful, emotional, incredible piece of music!

  • I still love this song!

  • What a cool place to play xx

  • A mate from England told me to check this guy out... What a surprise !!!

  • Best song ever!

  • Unbelievable

  • this song haunts me,,its amazing how some songs can you take you to a certain place and time, where you can almost feel the way you felt at that moment...

  • It simply beautifully amazing

  • Beautiful song. Beautiful voice. After hearing this song on channel 4 a few years back I rushed out to buy the album. Best move i ever made. This song in particular has helped me through so many rough points in my life. Possibly even better live. What a voice.

  • Great song, lookin forward to seeing him at the clonakilty guitar festival next week....p.s can anyone tell me what model of takamine that is? cheers!!

  • It seems to be a TAKAMINE EAN10C

  • thanks!!! you nailed it

  • Yeah the pickup across the bridge looks to be an LR Baggs M1 Active pickup.

The Takamine has a built in Preamp aswell, probably something along the lines of a Cooltube which sound pretty awesome, hope that helps :-D

  • Saw him a couple of weeks ago at Latitude (:

  • I saw him play live...his voice is incredible live....such a hypnotic voice. he is incredible

  • YES!!!!! live cello not just strings on keyboards! omg i love this

  • 'my destiny lies in the hands that set me free'

  • As "starinthehoodmuzz", I too would be happy if I ever wrote a song like this. It goes straight to my "wonderful memories with new friends" - box. When this song was played to me, I was positively surprised that though Scott sounds very much like Nick Drake (maybe it's the cello), he still has his own strong style and in his songs he takes turns in harmonies that (luckily) distance him from Drake's influence.

  • this dude is 2 cool for school im tellin u if i wrote tht song i would b the happiest man alive fuk me its very very good x

  • What a massive talent this man has, out standing singer/songwriter..

  • man. that Cello would have sounded great if it was in the recording, sigh.

  • He really remind me of Jeff Buckley, quite a similar sound IMO. Which is by no means a bad thing, as both are amazingly talented.

  • why cant i hear the cello plucking at the begining or is that just me?

  • Thats Just You LOL

  • very 21st century.

  • awesome!

  • This song means a lot to me. I cannot wait to hear this live in a few months! Sorry people I just had to rub that in! How is he not more famous? Seriously? Real talent goes unnoticed these days, while kids that are trained from the age of three to sing but have no song writing ability and can't play an instrument jump straight to the top of the charts!

  • Now that guitar is sounding...

  • by an chance do you have any idea what way he has the guitar tuned??? I wanna figure out how to play it but he has it all tuned weird i think :)

  • the g string is tuned in F#.

  • Aw thanks a mil adrianbe

  • I just had it on drop D

  • absolute brilliance :) a definate break from the norm!!

  • I agree with the other comments. Something with some soul in it unlike the tripe that is broadcast on radio stations in the UK every day. Much success to Scott Matthews.

  • Breathtaking. Djeez. What a song. What an inspiration. What an originality.

  • @EGeasy I agree with you, however....

....does anyone else think that this guy's voice sounds like Jeff Buckley...?

....don't get me wrong; it's amazing...

....but it still sounds like he's on a buckley tip; of course, out of the god-knows-how-many-thousands of buckey (what shall we say, esque?) singers out there, he is the best I've come across

  • @BozzerFace

I was just thinking the same !

  • @BozzerFace Buckley is one of influences.....

  • Truely one of the best songs of this decade. It gives the people who actually have good taste in music the inspiration to rise against this current wave of thoughtless rhymes.So.... Rebel I say!!! we gotta f*ck up with the rap it's nothing but crap for there's my rhyme so give me dime. And I Mr beatbopmhytopanpizz challenge the one and only Soulja Boi(little dirty tooth n*gger) to a tieing of the shoelace challenge!

Ooo yea you be scared little man i know u mo fo all wear velcro! muhahahaha ha
