Seriously, to even talking about the other life that gets taken in this doco, you're completely spoiling the impact of this film for anyone who hasn't seen it.
I just watched this documentary and I can't stop thinking about it. I can't believe that Canada's judicial system failed these people TWICE. To lose their one and only dearly beloved son and then their grandson is the most horrific thing that I can imagine happening to a loving couple. The fact that they had to stay calm and interact with Shirley Turner almost immediately after their son's death is even more horrific. Andrew Bagby was only 28 when he was murdered. So so so so so so so sad.
I just watched this episode on Dateline. I can't believe this story. It is so terrible, and I do not really have the words to respond to such a story. I find it very admirable that this documentary was made. I find the Bagby's very admirable as well. My best wishes go out to all involved.
And what is the moral of this story? Liberals should not be in the legal system because what they do is ignore the law, ignore common sense, and rely solely on their warped ideology. I live in New York city which is one of the most liberal citys in the US and this kind of stuff goes on ALL the time, Judges releasing killers on bail, giving them special privleges. They had one case a while back where a guy tried to kill a cop and was let out on bail and what did he do? Killed another cop.
I am liberal-leaning and I completely disagree with you - this is not a liberal / conservative issue. This was a blatant miscarriage of justice. Those judges should have thrown the book at that woman - at the very least, had her locked up in a mental institution. This isn't about politics, this is about a plain lack of common sense.
Excuse me... I'm semi-liberal and I think you're full of shit.
I'll remind you that it was Canada, not the United States, that fucked up nearly every aspect of the legal system in this film.
You are extremely ignorant and clearly missed the entire purpose of the film. Also... if people were more liberal than their would have been stricter gun control laws which would've prevented someone with her history of getting a gun to begin with... making killing him significantly more difficult.
@Phreakakoncell your as pathetic as your mudering friend who is burning in hell for what she did...even if the grandparents made your CRAZY ass friend kill herself she had no right to kill an innocent baby!!! Stay off the page if your going to be negative about this beautiful documentary..better yet go make one about how sick this murderer was!!!
While this movie tells one of the most heart wrenching stories I have ever heard, It is is the best documentary I have ever seen. My heart goes out to Dr.Bagby's parents and friends.
I watched this movie last night. OMG...this was the most powerful movies (fictional or nonfictional) I have ever seen. The grandparents' love for that child surpassed the hate and resentment they could ever have for that evil woman. They were amazingly strong people and we can ALL learn something from them.

First of all no one knows for sure if She killed him. It was never proven. Second the film maker has consistencies in his documentary. There was never a man that she met on George street and there never was any phone calls made to this person the film maker said about. The film maker is a fucking liar!

Also she was on pills for depression and once she killed herself because these old Bastards told her they were going to take her son from them and that no would believe her and would blame her for killing her son, so she offed herself and her son. The cops know it and yet these old farts still blame her. As far as i'm concerned these old fuckers for running her down into depression even further are to blame for it all!!!!!!!
You're such an idiot. By your logic everyone should be excused from their crimes because of mental instability... because by social standards anyone who commits crimes like these cannot be mentally stable.
It's still her fault and the documentary does put blame on the other people who fucked up the legal process. Based on her crimes she's clearly an evil and mentally unstable bitch and deserves the criticism this movie gave.

Go break a rib and blow yourself yeah fucking useless cunt! This Canada, not the fucking lame u.s of fucking A Justice system, you dumb fuck! In this country we have loopholes for a purpose! Don't like it, give me a post box a address and I'll send ya a rope and a cheap fucking chair!
It was the Canadian system that was responsible for fucking up nearly everything that could've been fucked up. They were the one who let her walk free on bail and kept postponing her trial/conviction until she did what she did...
I don't see wtf you're ranting about or how it's relevant to what I said. Also, who the fuck ever said the "legal laws" are the same?
Clearly you're not that bright bro, I suggest rethinking your stance on this. =\

I love the Canadian justice system. It's the best in the whole world!!!!!!!So, clearly re-think your logic dick smack! Claiming that she murdered someone is just here say. The Canadian Justice system served well. I don't like the fact that those foreign fucks wanted the law here in Canada to change over accusations! So on this note, Fuck you all that are saying she killed this dude. You want people to blame, blame those fucking geezers for playing mind games!
What on earth makes you think it's okay to spoil that part of the documentary for people who haven't seen it? It's meant to be a surprise and you just spoil it in the comment section for anyone who may choose to come on here to watch the trailer in order to decide whether or not they want to watch the documentary.
I strongly urge you to please remove your comment and rewrite it without completely spoiling that part of the documentary.
Yes she did-a judge decided to let her out citing the crime she committed was directed toward an individual not the public, therefore she wasnt a danger to the public. (I dont get the logic there) just before she was to be extradited to the US she mixed a bottle ativan in Zacharys formula fed it to him, walked for hours along the coastline looking for access to the ocean. Around 3 a.m. on Aug. 18, 2003 she found a pier & jumped off with little Zachary lashed to her chest. He had just turned 1
