Still not decided on pattaya or ko Phangan. Mate has been to ko Phangan twice and says it is awesome. I do wanna go to the full moon party but also wanna go to bars and clubs. I have seen a shit load of good night life in pattaya on here but my mate says pattaya is just full of old western guys with young Thai girls so now Im not sure. The only night life videos I can see of ko Phangan are beach parties. Somebody enlighten me?

Hi, no the setting is not the same even though in the 'the beach' they go to find the island from this same island where the full moon party happens. In fact the island on which 'the beach' was filmed 'called Koh Phi Phi leh' is on the west coast of thailand and is an uninhabited nature reserve. The neighbouring sister island 'koh phi phi don' is inhabited but though a beautiful island the village is a little tacky and not as friendly as other places seem to be.
