  • i couldnt understand that at ALL!!!!!!

  • That was good because you really explained REALLy well. My only negative thing to add was that it was a bit difficutl to see what you were doing. If you would do it away from the camera once and then do a close up, this would be a perfect video

  • Tooooo fast. Frustrating.

  • You make things confusing

  • It would be more helpful if the yarn wasn't the same color as your skin. But thanks for posting.

  • Didn't understand that. Didn't get the whole V thing!?

  • Very hard to see. Try using a color yarn that doesn't blend in with your skin so much.

  • Thank you! You helped me get started on my very second knitting project, first time casting on. Thank so much!

  • Wow that sucks

  • Thanks I Just Needed To Know The Slip Knot xx

  • could you make a new video with it being slower and more explanatory?

  • are you being serious you call this how to knit for beginners? a hot dog is a better teacher than you!

  • wait.... what?

  • horrible

    she goes wayyyyyyyy to fast

  • Terrible teacher

  • you suck

  • Just took me a couple minutes to figure out. but was much better than trying to figure out the book!

  • Im glad I am not crazy 'cause none of these videos make sense to me. They are too quick and i jsut don't get it.

  • This is AWFUL !

  • could not figure this out

  • I must be cheating when I knit cuz I never do it this complicated...

  • If you got lost like I did, search Christine Pichini. Her videos are so much better.

  • I'm so confused. What original strand? I keep messing up there at 1:49 / 1:50 . Help?

  • I cant do it from this video!

  • good vid, but a different color yarn would help. over all still helpful! happy knitting!

  • this is a terrible video,

    1st step-make a slip not

WTF O_O how do you make a slip knot? Maybe she doesn't know this video is called; How to Knit for Experts

  • She goes WAY too fast. I can't even keep up as I'm trying to learn this.

  • Thank you so much for showing how this is done! I'm such a beginner so I'm really slow at this but you showed how to do it very well! You helped me a lot! Thank you! :D

  • hey, theres the same amount of likes as there is dislikes! (:

  • darker wool will do better!

  • GJ, Can't see a THING

  • Thanks, very easy to understand.

  • oh em gee lady yhu seriously need to talk alot slower and explain better yhu lost me after the first 2 seconds!!

  • I got this on the first time and i have never knitted before. Thanks so much it was a very good tuturiol. Dont listen to these idiots it was really good and very understanding.

  • Thank you, now I can remember how to cast on.

  • Thank you, now I can remember how to cast on.

  • you talk to fast!! slow down!! and maybe decide on a different colour next time, because it's hard to see where the yarn is.

  • I thought this was really helpful after watching some other videos--she explained how to get the "V" the best. Watched 3 times and got it :)

  • tooooo fast

  • this is really not helpful the lighting is terrible u can't see what you are doing and there are so many other problems I just don't want to be here all day :o(

  • THIS VIDEO IS AWFUL FOR BEGINNERS YOU CANT EVEN TELL WHAT YOUR SUPPOSED TO DO.......................URGGGH THIS IS A REALLY BAD VIDEO. :(

  • @Miss123456789lala Totally agree...very bad video

  • @Miss123456789lala i agree i cant see whats going on

  • you suck i dont even know how to put the sting on the needle!

  • not very helpful, not at all... you can't see at all how she gets that v on her fingers and she moves too fast. Get someone else, expert village

  • i didn't know what to do after the knot. I watch a billion videos before i found this one. and yours helped the best.

    Thanks. :)

  • You didn't say where to start on the yarn, I can't tell if you're supposed to start at the end or in the middle

  • @alfredthegnome she says 'long tail at the end'. think about it. :]

  • i've never done this before and i found your videos very helpful.

i'm sorry people are so hateful these days. it's ridiculous.

    ♥jess

  • Looks pretty complicated!!

  • I've knitted before and just needed a refresher. WOW way to make me frustrated before I even started. Sorry, but those are some pretty bad instructions!

  • i'm confused. What are some helpfull videos on youtube for knitting?

  • Too Confusing !!!

  • I wish she had used a different (darker) color of yarn for the demo.

  • WHITE YARN? and your skin is WHITE.. can't see anything.

  • Oh my goodness. You don't understand how much this helped. I tried looking at other videos to learn how to cast off. They didn't help at all. At first, it was kind of hard to see your string and so that made it difficult to understand. But After I watched this video like four times I completely understood how to cast off! Thank you so much. ^_^

  • tooo fast

  • you suck go slower and show us what the heck ur doing!

  • The slip knot video was awesome. But THIS one is way too confusing. (1) Show us your hands and go very slow. (2) I've been shown a MUCH easier way of doing this. Why pick such a complicated one???

  • ok cool whats next??

  • yeah this is the worst knitting tutorial video ive seen on knitting so far.

  • please make a video going slower and actually showing your hands with this v thing... omg...

  • I'm getting lost at the part where she says to make some kind of double v thing. I don't understand how to do that...

  • yeh thats not how you do it you rap it round your finger once then go under ill do a vidio on it

  • that is way too complicated for beginners... how I cast on is way more simple, I just twist the yarn around my finger and slide it down the needle, no slip knot, no V...I learned it that way when I was 8 in just a couple minutes..maybe I should make a video...lol

  • @KassieMarie85 yeah u should!! lol cuz im looost!

  • you cant see anything!

  • i finally did it i casted on i had to reply the video and pause alot but i did it thanks ur good

  • I will never learn how to knit... :(

  • Can all those people who posted negative comments please STOP!!! Seriously! She's already nice enough to make a video for you and here you are saying negative comments. How ungrateful can you people be?

  • You should use some Oral to stop your nose from blocking up...THEN caom back and teach us without saying cast on as "cads od"

  • The words over the closeups totally destroyed any teaching.

  • expert village is not the best way to go for beginners...

  • Ugh, I have been watching all your videos, but the title bar gets inthe way of me seeing what you are doing with all your stiches!

  • "This is pretty tricky"... I thought this was beginners kitting???

Also, yes, I agree, white yarn not the best choice. Also couldn't really see it close up.

Besides, for a BEGINNER who doesn't even know how to make a slip knot... this wasn't really for beginners, I think.

  • This was very helpfull. Thanks!

  • she is a good explainer this really helped me and if you listen really closely you will understand

  • i totally disagree with all you people who say "oh i cant understand this, oh i can't understand that". I think she did a very good job of explaining how to cast on. I dont feel that she's going crazy fast or talking too much, i think she's doing just fine. Most of you will probably get pissed off at this comment, but i dont really care:D She's great, i've learned how to make a slip knot and cast on from her in under 30 minutes. She's awesome! THANKS:D

  • Expertvillage are definitely not expert in producing instructional videos... White wool on white background, captions over the hands, talking fast while hands waving about all make for a pretty useless instructional video. I don't doubt her excellent knitting skills, but her teaching skills are very poor...

  • I cant do it : (

  • Very nice but the captions over your hands does not help, we can't really see what you are doing.

  • ugh... I hate expert village. It's never what i'm looking for, or it is and I cant see anything and I get lost. Nice job lady jumping your hand up and down so I dont know what you're doing.

  • how do u make a slipknot

  • THIS DOES NOT HELP ME AT ALL.

  • She's over-complicating the steps.

Anyone who's interested in learning to knit; just go to the Arts & Crafts section in Wal-Mart and there is a knitting kit called "Boye Beginners Knit Kit"... the booklet really spells it all out for you in the simplest way.

  • It doesn't have to be this complicated! If you got lost in Kelsey's lesson, try some of the others. "Basic knitting tips and techniques" is much easier to follow

  • ahh,then what?

  • this isnt that helpful

  • this is the worst tutorial.

  • well it helped me lol

  • So happy I read the commentary...you are all right! Too fast...ten years of experience and too much coffee brings the beginners back to where they were: clueless.

  • shit

  • awfullllllll

  • This is terrible. Too fast, and I cant see a thing!

  • You can't even see what she's doing.

  • The writing is covering it up too much with the light yarn. Would be nice to do it many times over and over too.

  • I can't see anything.

  • cant see a thing. no good for beginners

  • you should use a darker colour of yarn , i cant see the white one and the background is white too

  • This is way too fast. I can't see at all what's happening. Very frustrating.

  • whoa whoa whoa way too fast!

  • This helped me a lot thank you so much !

  • Thank's you helped us a lot

    cheers

  • im stuck

  • Hello Kelsey,

Can u help me i am having big trouble with trying to knit Names (alphabet letters) into my garments. Have u any advise on how to develop a good technique? Have u a video on that

  • i cant see wat shes doing bad!!

  • the vid was taken too far away, ya cant even see wat she's doin

  • thank u for doin this video, but this is not helpful at all

  • hehehe... kind of : tks for nothing, huh! I couldn't see a thing either... and the process is soooo confused!!! I'm dizzy! sad :-(

  • This was too hard and not helpful at all.

  • she has made more sense than any other video i have seen thus far!

  • Fuck you.

  • this is hard 2 follow

  • yeer i agree. she's got the worst tutorials.

  • Good grief! She is horrible!

  • Use dark yarn next time. Geez

  • Holy cow! She lost me in the first 2 seconds!!!

  • @TheMrWildfire Don't feel bad, she lost me too. :-( Can't see what's going on.

  • original strand is which one?

  • Wow, white wool on a white background - Nt very helpful!

  • i did that but i keep ending up with 3 at a time

  • ur place is not organised

and its not good 4 ur video when ppl see ur place like this

  • It Looks like a dorm its not messy its just plain nothing wrong with that.

  • i think it would be easier to understand if you use other color for you jarn

  • I can not see what you are doing...Your camera person needs to be fired ! this is useless !

  • i couldn't tell what she was doing

  • Crap

  • Hey I understood it! Zoom wouldve been helpful, but I understand it now! I cast on! YAY!

  • me too!

  • why do u use such a hard cast on for beginners?????? use 1 finger and go under then out.....u pros make this to hard....simplify!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is awful! i thought it was for beginners! i don't even know what a loop knot is.

  • Go to Threadbanger on Youtube. Just type Threadbanger and knitting in the search bar. You will be able to watch one of the EASIEST cast ons I have ever seen. Way less complicated than this and you basically only make a slip knot and use your index finger. It's no double v stuff with it... check it out!

  • She also moves along and speaks too fast!

  • i could not see what u was doing:(

  • THANKS!!!

  • this is the stupidest video ever. not bashing you, just get a camera with zoom

  • You lost me at the double V. Just couldn't see what you did.

  • i couldnt see either :(

  • i'm sorry...this was not helpful :( could not see anything or what she was holding...

  • kelsie, your voice is hot.

  • could not see a thing.....

  • i couldnt see anything! boo hoo

  • The long tail cast on is lovely, but maybe it would have been easier for beginners if she taught an e-wrap cast on instead. :/

  • WTF! that was so confusing!!!!!

  • Don't be disheartened, there are other videos you can watch. But this lady is really great with her other videos so keep an eye out.

  • this was hard.

  • this didnt help at all :(

  • I have to learn to knit really quickly for a play I am in. I found this very helpful to get me started. I couldn't tell anything from the books I was using.

  • i agree with most of the others. this was not helpful at all except for learning importance of a long tail.

  • lmao once u have one stich,,, WTF do you do next lmao.

  • What a horrible video! They need to record it from her angle because you cant see what s going on!

  • WTF i cant do this!

  • funny... when i do that i cast two stiches at the same time... and i think i do it exactly the same way, but still you make only one stich? o_O freaky...

  • bad explanation

  • She really needed to use darker yarn! You can't see what she is doing at all. Not very useful.

  • hey you went to fast you lost me in the slip knot lol i could barely see the yarn it matched your skin color

  • you can never have enough tail...

    hehehe

  • Thank you for stating that you need a long tail. I was having problems with not having enough tail after only a few stitches were on the needle. Now I know what was wrong.

  • SHIIIT

you cant see what shes doing and how the hell are we supposed to know what a slipknot is...i mean...all i know is that it is a hard metal Band but im sure that thats not what shes talking about!

  • Why do these people always ASSUME we know how to make a fucking slipknot?! Show me! Don't just do it!

  • I know!

  • Not helpful at all, too fast, couldn't see what she was doing

  • Thia is NOT the cable method

  • not close enough to see what is happening.

  • Ummmmm......That looks to difficult

  • um....this didn't help that much

  • thanks!!!

  • that was pretty helpful

  • sorry but dat wasnt helpfull at all

  • I have an amazing coloured wool.but unfortunately i suck at knitting dont know how to knit =(

  • yeah you definately wouldn't know after this video!

  • This video is horrible. She keeps saying "this" and "that" and not explaining what she is actually doing. Also, the white string... not a good idea.

  • I thought it was a good video. You do a close up so it's not to hard to see how to do it. You explained it very well this is the least confusing explaination of casting on I've come across

    thank you!

  • Its not really close enough and coloured wool would have been nice. But I got it, Thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • This should be done with colored yarn... I can't see the white yarn against your white hand..

  • I don't get it {:( it is to confusing
