i think if the name of your high school is Mater Dei then your just destined to have strong athletics. i go to Mater Dei High School in Evansville, Indiana and we have the number one wrestling team in the nation. over the last 15 years we are 872-0!!! that means 872 TEAM wins not individual matches!

It does not matter how close some of the games might have been. This is just the team to beat. And not many teams can say they have done that over the years.

I am from SoCal and up until the played Mater Dei and Long Beach Poly and beat them, I use to qualify De La Salle by saying they are just a team from Northern California. But they are extremely well coached and well disciplined and I will take that over raw talent any day of the week.

So why has Bellvue not played another game against DLS?

Bellevue has nothing to prove to them, Bellevue is a great story, as the QB at West Seattle in 1996, Bellevue kicked our asses and taught us a lesson, to beat a great team like Bellevue or DLS, we need to outwit, outsmart and outperform them, thats how we went undefeated the rest of the way that season! They are very lucky to play in California where they do not have near the quality of competition.In California , they are considered great.But in Texas,lol, not a chance. Now, Washington Bellevue is gonna get slammed by Euless Trinity ,out of Dallas...LOL....in their own home stadium.

I do remember watching the California vs. Texas game. That was eye opening. Not disrespecting Texas football, because it is one of the top states for sure. But that series and a lot of the cross country competition sense then has come to demythologize Texas football.

Caution about Bellevue: I don't know if they are returning the same talent as they did last year, but no team should take them for granted. Good luck.

@FlatulenceFox Out of all the High School Bad Asses in the Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex .Bellevue chose the biggest Bad Ass on the DFW block. Euless Trinity. Bellevue has a nice little team that does very well in Washington. And i do salute the guts it took to call out Trinity.But, they are too small and Trinity will squash that offense of theirs.They havent seen the size or team speed that Trinity possesses. I mean really, how well do you think a team that has to play both ways on offense and

But the thing I know about Trinity, besides the fact they are an awesome team, is that they rely on size and bulk strength. Having huge Samoan & Tongans is a plus for sure. All I can tell you is that I hope that Trinity is watching the Bellevue game films. They run a crazy offense & rely on speed and misdirection. You'll see.

And it is nice to finally see a Texas team willing to risk the state's reputation by playing cross country competition. It would be nice to see more of that.

Last California vs Texas game I saw was in 2009, when Notre Dame High School from LA beat Klein Oak 37-7 at the Herbsteit Classic by the way.

DLS isn't in any conference. They don't play for a conference title. They're pretty granted the #1 seed provided they finish the regular season undefeated. They play some tough teams in the NCS playoffs. Quit down playing their success. They're what every other high school football program in the nation wants to be and strives to be.

My take on De La Salle and the streak. Great team, weak conference. In So Cal it is almost impossible to go undefeated in ONE season let alone 150 + games. Imagine De La Salle, playing Servite, Lutheran, Mater Dai, Centenial, Mission Viejo (who they are 2 - 3 versus), Edison and Santa Margerita in one season. Last year De La Salle was undefeated until they played Canyon High school in the State final, who lost 2 games.

When was the last time another team won De La Salle's conference?......exactly. My cousin went to De la Salle and never lost a game. If you brought that talent down here every week you would not win 155 games in a row. To much talent in So Cal. You actually have a winning record (6-3) against So Cal teams but you're not undefeated, 9 games played 3 losses. That's my point.

Beat them in very close games, De La Salle isn't invincible against SoCal. DLS looks even against teams from Washington (Bellevue blow out). The first two years they played Mission Viejo they lost. Canyon played great beat them 27-13 a team that was criticized for having TWO losses, Centennial torched DLS deffense in the second half, but DLS was still ablevto squeak by (though that penalty on the extra point was stupid. DLS was bearly able to beat Centennial when many people say they would have

only 2 of the games were close

Bellevue had an unstoppable wingT offense they just made DLS look stupid. DLS was "down" for those 3 years 2004-2006. Now there back to there undefeated ways, Centenial made a nice comeback but DLS still won.

another thing about DLS is that they are still able to make their CIF playoffs when they have a record of 4 wins 3 losses and 2 ties, there is no way any team would even be considered for a SoCal CIF with that record

I gurantee had it been De La Salle vs. Centennial, Riordan vs. Oceanside and Oak Grove vs. St. Bonaventure we would have swept it in 2007. If anything the north is more competeive because in the south you can lose 2 games & go to state but in 2006 Grant (Sacramento) go screwed outta the game & they were 14-0 with a team that could of possibly been better then DLS. We sent Cardinal Newman out there for the simple fact that Oak Grove lost 1 game. McClymonds had 9 All Americans with 12 D1 football

Kylan Butler is good but Pugh was the stud senior.

Dude what the hell are you talking about? In 2004 McClymonds lost to Crenshaw and Dorsey, Barely beat Crenshaw in 2005 and lost to Dorsey, and lost to Crenshaw 42-0 in 2006. Those are city teams which are third rate next to the inland empire and the southern section. They never even played Norco, a team MUCH better then the other two you claim they beat, when they actually got their asses kicked. NorCal is 1-5 in state bowl games, De La Salle is the only team with a state title.
