  • 잘들었습니다 감사합니다 thank you

  • This is a "tremendous" video. =p

  • 115 people have no taste. I could listen to this forever. Thanks....perfect interpretation of Cavatina

  • one of the most sincerely performed pieces of music I have ever witnessed. I'm 64 and thank God I have a computer, my only connection to the world of music.

  • What a beautiful rendition of an incredibly moving piece. Thank you for reminding me there is love in the world. :)

  • 0:16 - 0:19 is the part i am trying now :( i dont see your hand move AT ALL till 2 more movements AUUUGH this is so hard ;(

  • Amazing ..it's note perfect .....the music is so so great .. I drift away every time I hear it ... Thank you Stanley for Bringing a moment of Peace and Calm into my life ... Regards Darren Torbay in Devon UK.

  • This is hauntingly beautiful.

  • @MARIOBEN1 Well said! It chills me to the bone and brings peace to me.

  • Imponerande:-)

  • The sound from your guitar is beauuutiful

  • Ha im learning this song at the age of 13 as many other kids could be but seeing as my fingers arn't hard enough to hit the barre chords i am always hitting one flat note in the 3rd chord D: arrg so annyoing ^^ beautiful song though, i hope that when i learn this it will be as good as how you preformed it in this video :-)

  • The Best !!!

  • and yes kevduck1, it is standard tuning.

  • what i think is totally beautiful about this playing, is the melody being timed with feel and not totally together with the accompanyment. makes it much more alive. also the bass notes d-e-eflat being a little upfront contribute so much to the tension of the chords. simply wonderfull!!!

  • i want to learn this song, ive got the basic gist as far as the bass root, high key. my question is. is it standard tuning help.

  • Wonderful rendition. Nicely done. Bravo!

  • Your video is a favorite on Morocco

  • Merci pour ce si beau moment.

  • Beautiful right-hand technique. Really lovely recording too!

  • I can't even get past the first 20 seconds playing that song, its very annoying to see it played so beautifully

  • @mikemurphy155 beauty has a way of being annoying when it is viewed by a jealous mind. Either way, if you play, practice and get to the beauty in the performance.

  • Wow. Tears just came to my eyes. So beautiful.

  • Very Good

  • how people can dislike that????? It's like poem on guitar!!!

  • Beautiful!! Not an easy song to play. How can anyone dislike this?? Obviously not guitar players!!

  • Love this!

  • @Justsostory, Aah the turkey n’ stuffin went well with the tuna flakes, then I groomed my wiskers and capped the day with a 16 hr catnap. It was all paw in cheek. Didn’ mean to make you feel pepper-sprayed. I knews you is a good decint human who wood enjoy sum lite hearted moggie holiday banter. We is still friends, yes? Bravo Professur, bravo John Williams. Lettuce celebrate all the grate guitarerists on You Tube!

  • sounds・・ heaven, hell, sweet ,bitter,happy,sorrow,comfortable,dizzy.

  • Greetings from New Jersey, USA - beautiful playing on this, I enjoy all of your videos.

  • @Justsostory, I respects an defends yur right to an opinion but yur inflammable incinerations that I gots no scents made my fur fly. Which is the better snack is an unsalvable mistury. Are the salmon flavored bettur than the catnip-saute? Are the crunchy bettur than the soft ? Neooooww. You can’t put a paw on it. So please no more casting squirillous asparagus on me b/c I prefur the je nais se quoi of the potato over the tomato. Thankyu, and have a cat-aclysmic and blessed Thanksgiving.

  • @zeptomole that was a joke mate ! what i mean is they're both great guitarists one being famous around the world and the other known and respected by the you tube community and i suppose many more..i'm not saying you got no sense -still you should take it easy....this is all about music not war!

  • Where can i get tabs for this????

  • Heavenly. tears to my eyes

  • Nobody does better. GREAT.

  • well played man. can u send me the sheet of this song please

  • Thank you my brother This Army vet thanks you. for "Cavatina"

I hold your song very close to my heart. NamYoFaraOn my

    brother

  • This was just great! I wish I could play like that!

  • I don't have a huge lot of interest in classical guitar, and I had never heard of you until about 3 hours ago, but i've been watching your youtube clips for about 3 hours!!! Beautiful, emotional renditions, and some very interesting interpretations of classical pieces.

I notice you sometimes play in a room with wooden walls - is this to help the quality of the recording?

  • This is the most watched video by me on Youtube. Lovely, amazing, brilliant, stunningly soothing!!! Hats off to you!!!

  • Per-Olov: hejsan fran Tenerife. Vackert, VACKERT. Halsa de dar hemma, halsa far och mor ...

  • Tack! Ska jag nog göra. :-)

  • How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist on the planet??!! The beauty of your tone completely blows me away! You are a gem and master-a million thanks-you truly touch souls and we are deeply grateful! Any chance you might record the opening, the WILD opening to that lute suite sometime? It's the one Bach also used in his Cantata #29--Sinfonia. You'll truly rock the world!!

  • How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist on the planet??!! The beauty of your tone completely blows me away! You are a gem and master-a million thanks-you truly touch souls and we are deeply grateful!

  • I do not want to be rude but you have more hits on your Cavatina performance than John Williams' live performance in 1976. Your execution of Bach' Air on a G string says it all. When I need guidance before I play Air it is you I listen to. It is not my intension to suck up on you or to idolize you but imho your specific guitar skills are way up there with the greatest. Btw...any chance you will show us Suite in e minor BWV 996 - III Courante? Best wishes and rock on Peo.

  • So beautiful. The interpretation was outstanding, tone was phenomenal, and the projection was amazing. Thank you for your playing, truly inspirational.

  • I just listened to John Williams play it. Then wondered if you had played it so I looked. Per this is much more sensitively played than John Williams. Imagine that. Maybe the wrong man is famous,. Hell even your audio is better than his. Art

  • grande

  • beautiful music :D

  • Per-Olav I just wanted to tell you that it is a priviledge to listen to you play this beautiful piece with such feel. In my mind the interpretation and the dynamics and tone of a piece of music are more important than pure technique, I hope that you agree. I am an acomplished guitar player in a genre of Rock/Jazz/Blues but I am a novice in the classical genre, but I listen to this and it inspires me to want to study and learn more Sir.

  • Excellent! That guitar rings like a bell in that room. Great sound and performance!

  • beautiful : )

  • Hello Peo,please where can I buy your transcription of "Cavatina" with exacty your chord voicings?

  • Beautiful.

  • I think that this is the most beautiful version of this piece that I have ever heard.

  • Gonna hang up your picture on my wall. You are truly talented. Very nice!

  • My god, what a brilliant sound. It sounds sooo....clear and perfect. Excellent job as always, I aspire to be half as good as you in my lifetime!!!

  • Hi Peo, my wife and I were listening this song at your touching concert in Blomberg. She was laughing, because she dislike this song as well as your girlfriend. But she was pleased with your concert and so she permitted me to learn more of your other guitar-songs.

    All the best.

    Ibuki

  • Fantastiskt fint! På delad förstaplats tillsammans med Schindler's list theme enligt mig när det gäller vackra musikstycken. Blir alltid lite fuktig i ögonen när jag hör dem. Väldigt inspirerande!

  • It looks like the audio and the video aren't of the same performance

  • ooooooo...oh dear...that really moved me. I need to kill you, you're too good! I know someone will disagree, but this is the best rendition of this incredible piece of music I've ever heard. At 2.43 I nearly had a heart attack! I'm so glad I discovered your channel...I need to spend less time watching your videos and more time practicing!

  • very nice.

  • Celestial.

  • Disciplin, dedication, perfectionism, talent. All that gives this, and the logical result of being number one on Youtube when searching for "Cavatina" solos.

Are you inside a church recording this one?

  • Beautiful

  • The beauty of this song is the feeling one puts in to the performance,i can only say you moved me so much,i felt like i was there in the room, one of the best versions of cavatina i,ve heard,,i look forward to all your performances, alan

  • I will echo what many others have observed: It's just exceptionally exquisitely played. Rarely do we see masters of your calibre playing & posting it via YouTube like this for everyone to freely enjoy. Thank you!

(The place looked like your backyard, or, a sauna of some type, so I was very surprised at the SOUND QUALITY, which sounded more like you're recording this in a professional recording room, which was likely the case?, the deceptive physicality behind you notwithstanding)...

  • Amazing rendition of one of the most beautiful classical pieces ever composed IMHO.

  • AndanteLargo

  • What knee support are you using? I could really use one like that

  • bravo!!

  • Hi Professor: This is one of the finest, most emotional performances of Cavatina on guitar I've ever heard, and in my opinion, exceeding that of John Williams. You always seem to have encouraging comments for other guitarists on You Tube. Your students must be very fortunate to have you as a mentor.

  • Hi there. Thank YOU for listening to me and for your kind words. Please tell my students this too :-)

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • @zeptomole comparing the two really makes no sense John Williams' playing is technically perfect and full of emotion while per-olov's is full of emotion and technically perfect !

  • can u teach me? in video :) i think ur using a scaling i don't know any scaling i nid help :))

  • I've been playing this one for months now, but still I can't get it just right. I hope you don't mind me asking, but how long did it take you to learn this song?

  • Hi. I am happy to hear you are learning this beautiful piece too. I am a professor in Classical guitar so I didn't really practice this. I learned it while teaching a student.

    Keep playing!

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • absolutely mind-blowing

  • Thank you so much!

    Appreciated.

    Per-Olov

  • May I ask which Microphones and Reverb you used for the recording? Very pure sound. Great!....Ever use compression?

  • Hi there! Thanks for listening.

Please go to my web site (link under the video) and click on News. There I have posted my setup.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Wow listening to the sound, that room must have AMAZING acoustics 0_0

  • Thank you! Appreciated.

    Per-Olov

  • You definitely played it smoothly.. :) awesome

  • Thanks a lot!

    Please keep listening to me.

    Per-Olov

  • john williams rocks ass.

  • My father was a professional classical guitarist that toured the US and Canada in the 60's and 70's so I've had a great appreciation for what it takes to play such beautiful music as you do so well. I enjoy all your videos and would like to know where I could purchase your CD that includes this beautiful piece.

  • So pretty - I love this song.

  • ✰✰✰✰✰ Beautiful. I love how your sitting in an empty room which helps the sound a great deal.

  • This is so beautiful. I salute you.

  • WOW.. You are in my top 5 favorite Guitarists. Incredible playing, you have an amazing gift. I am going to try this on my acoustic. Wish me luck!

    -Dave

  • Thank you Dave! I wish you all the best playing this beautiful piece on your acoustic. It is worth the hard work.

    Per-Olov

  • @AndanteLargo I have just started looking at learning the guitar, at the moment a simple A chord is difficult!

Watching you play is inspiring, but I think I will stick with the simple stuff until my fingers will bend in the right (general) direction!

  • EXCELENTE!

  • Muchas gracias.

    Per-Olov

  • "To Nick"

  • Whirl up, sea---

    Whirl your pointed pines,

    Splash your great pines

    On our rocks,

    Hurl your green over us,

Cover us with your pools of fir.

  • @titomun123 WTF?

  • John Williams is gonna be jealous when he sees this video

  • STUNNING

  • Doesn't get better. Fantastic preformence Peo, hats off. /Richard

  • I love this track and this is a fantastic version of it. Wonderful!

  • I love the way you play ... please listen to the guitar in Muse's - Unintended ... should it not be consider? even more than Metallica´s "Nothing else matters" ... don´t you think?

  • do you think bieber will end up like this guy?

  • @EverydayNormalDude No way!

  • @EverydayNormalDude Bieber will never even have the right to even breathe the same air this man does.

  • "One shot"

  • 노래너무좋네요

  • The most perfected one ,i like this song...

  • john williams one has some old tape effect that makes it sound out of tune, i prefer this one

  • anybody knows if this is standard tuning? thanks!

  • wow, just amazing. I really wish I could play guitar

  • This is possibly the best version I've ever heard, beautiful tone with such emotion. Thanks a lot you've now given me some great ideas :)

  • (T_T)

  • Limpid and beautiful tones. *****.

  • Now I can play this =)

Not with such feeling but it's just a matter of time

  • This is the part in the movie where Robert De Niro spoons Bambi

  • @GhostDiesel your sick

  • your playing is sooo full of feeling!!! i play classical guitar, too. i could rip this song easily ( in the technical way). but i'd wish i had this maturity like you in your playing. I hope someday i reach this level too ! i think you are really great!!! greetings from germany

  • is that standard tuning? Because the intro seems awkward to me but you have an easy way it seems.

  • beatiful

  • I have to say that i realy enjoy all of your videos, very nicely executed with lots of feel.

...but I do feel you have a little to much reverb , or perhaps a miss use of it, try cutting the low mids and bass from the reverb to get that nice sizzle and big room in the highs but keep the more focused bass and articulate mids...just my two cents=)

All in all, very sweet and beautiful, lots of love for guitar players and lovers//THX

  • 106 people can't play this...

  • true beauty, i do love it... tryna learn on ukulele quite hard :/ but this is beautuifu.. why is there dislikes?

  • IM LEARNING THE GUITAR AT THE MOMENT AND THIS IS THE REASON WHY ... ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING ! TO PLAY THIS MUST BE INCREDIBLE ARE THE FINGER STRETCHES AS TOUGH AS THEY LOOK ?

  • Pure genius ......................

  • I'm 13 now, and I was 12 when I memorized this. Your video helped me a lot. Thanks :)

  • Very beautifulllll......!!!

  • Very nice interpretation Mr Meyers...You used your room to maximum effect.............lovely reverb from the wood .....just beautiful I just posted this on my facebook profile and put the same comment in...I found your version from being the next after John Williams version on youtube after his version finished and decided to give you a listen and was very impressed by your playing and the room ..thankyou Jason Syd OZ

  • @landocalrision BTW, That's not Stanley Meyers.

  • Helt underbart spelat! Är själv trubadur och vet att det blir fel i bland, men den här är rätt svår! Snyggt jobbat!!

  • beautiful.... stunning

  • R.I.P

  • how the hell one single guitar alone could ever sound as such : <

u are the living wizard, Mr. Per-Olov

    respects from Hanoi.

  • Beautiful.

And very very difficult to play.

  • my uncle says if i learn this by november he'll give me 100 dollars :)

  • Helt underbart. Mycket bra jobbat Per-Olov.

  • Görbra!

  • tried to play this, isn't for the feint hearted. technique is everything. you have it to spare.......

  • perfect!!!

  • This is, by far, the best piece of music, ever composed.

  • I listen to this Song Everyday during this difficult time for me. Words cannot express

the joy this song brings me

  • after 6 weeks learning I can play this song :D

  • Incredibly beautiful! There something quite modest yet spacious about not only this piece but also your playing. Or it might be the reverb! XD Thanks so much for this vid!

  • Truly grand playing sir. Has recording studio quality.

  • Zajebiste!! :D

  • Dear Per-Olov,

ohh what a feeling.Thank you for the musik.

    Best wishes,Marco

  • This extraodary smooth guitar playing, but the flow is some time have gap that cause the whole song become untrackable

  • Bellissima interpretazione, superiore anche a quella di John Williams

  • 3 years n counting and im still playing this piece introduced to me when i first saw your vid. im glad to say that i've this piece embedded in my head, every time i play this piece i work on the "feelings" now, to get a grasp just like yours. thank you again Mr.Kindgren

  • 105 dislikes! these people never watched the deer hunter, poor them.

  • @seba123neo or maybe they missed the like button :))

  • Lovely. I recorded a version of this with recorder virtuoso, Brad White, for a release called, "Old Friends III". It's out of print for the moment.

  • I just wish i had the patience to learn how to play this Amazing and incredibly beautiful song.

  • :(

  • I'd be more than willing to purchase your arrangement of this beautiful piece if I could find it on your site! Please message or comment back with a solution.

    This is absolutely lovely.

  • Don't know how many times I have listened to this but it gives me chills each and every time. Your technique is simply wonderful. Of course we both know the greatest technique cannot give a song the heart it needs. You, sir, have done that incredibly well. THANK YOU.

  • Trodde ikke man kunne slå Norbert Kraft's versjon, men denne har en intens men likevel beroligende frasering som gjør den til den beste jeg noensinne har hørt. Fantastisk fin fremføring.

I didn't think anyone could play this melody better than Norbert Craft, but this rendition has got such intense yet so calming phrasing, making it the best version I have ever heard. Fantastic performance.

  • I'm playing this piece for my Grade 8 Classical Guitar exam this year, and this has to be one of the most beautiful renditions I've heard of it. I can only hope I sound half as good as this when I play, keep up the good work sir
