Hey, I played 'Mister Director', and can be seen in Trailer, 4a, 5 and others...
In answer, the chimp was TRAINED (he wasn't THAT smart, but smart enough) and we waited patiently while the crew filmed what they needed in about 37 takes... the monkey would do it right, do what was asked of him, then we'd set up for the shoot, cue the monkey... and he KNEW it was different, so he'd throw a tantrum, and it was back to Practice, Square One...
