I like how Yipes waited patiently until Wong made a mistake. Once he did, Yipes pounced on him like a crazed lion. Ironically, thats when the music stopped!!! This is how to play at high levels, wait for an oppurtunity, and dont call out assist only to be punished. As seen by Yipes, he stayed inactive until Wong made a mistake, but Wong answered back with a fury...

Keep-away is a very viable strategy in MvC2, and as far as I know it's allowed in almost every other fighting game where it's effective. The only exception that I can think of is Brawl, and for good reason.

Go re-read the EVO2K9 rules. Yes, Storm does run away and build meter, and though she's the hardest character to catch, and if you don't know how to chase one in the first place, then you've already lost.

How else do you think Cable and Dr. Doom played? Not like it matters, because the only actual rule that was broken was the switch glitch.

Justin wong does the easy shit while Yipes is semi-SooMight like, he will go for some fancy combos and resets while every now and then missing very basic combos. But Yipes has improved so much since this NEC tourney it's not even funny. I think Justin would win overall if 100 matches are played since he is able to keep up with his consistency. Even when Justin misses a combo he always somehow places you on the defensive because you're already cornered. Not very flashy but it works.

Magneto, Storm and Cable are WAY more broken than Sentinel.

super armor, fast fly, easy as hell to chain super, unfly semi infinite, crazy damage, and normals that chip.

Also his assists are some of the best in the game. Most people rank storm and sentinel higher then mag and cable, but the difference is only slight.

It's very easy to explain my logic, Magneto and Cable have infinites.

Storm has the best overall technical stats of any character, with speed, damage, combos, assists and the absolute best DHC in the game.

Sentinel is slightly more balanced than the aforementioned characters because of his massive size and how easy it is to land infinites on him... sure he has high damage per hit, but his combos are much shorter than the others.

As jwong showed in this match (twice), a good sentinel with a good AAA (clops) can very easily destroy mag and storm. Just keep away with lasers, stomps, and air hp; then use the AAA to stop any Tri-jumps.

And if you count AHVB to another AHVB an "infinite" then wouldn't rp/hp to HSF be an "infinite" too?(yes i know it scales badly)

And when it comes to his "short combos" its damage that matters the most, not hits. His lk lk rp can do 1/4 of mags life.

Also, the mouth laser can be unblockable.

A couple of matches won by sentinel doesn't make up for the countless tournaments where Magneto played a major role for the winning team.

I stand by my earlier statement, the fact that Sentinel is the easiest character to land infinites on, coupled with the fact that he doesn't have anything as broken as the AHVB or one of many of Magneto's relatively easy to land and easy to execute infinites... I'd say my point is once again clear.

Besides, MSP and MST, almost every single tournament worthy team has sentienl on it. MSS, santhrax, duc, clockw0rk, Matrix, Row, Scrub, Scrubclops, Combofiend, and many other teams have sentienl on it. Sentinel is on more teams then all the other top tier characters. Even the two teams i mentioned that exclude Sentinel, often do well when you switch storm with sentinel. He is much better then your making him out to be. Mag, cable, and storm are great characters, but sentienl is too.

Sentinel is mad better than any other tops in most matchups...mag/sent, you kill AAA with snap and then pwn with sent...storm/sent, you DHC and 1 hit kill >.>, Cable/Sent, you lockdown, chip and 1 hit kill with 2-3 supers. Sents presence and team chemistry alone make him top. His rusdown with unfly, situational pressure with refly, and unblockable setups put him over the top. Just my opinion.
