They were philosophical, mathematic, architect geniuses and it started to decline because of invading mongs and christians. I wouldn't say it was because of christianity but the crusades brought a cultural push of christian extremism and the muslims pushed back with their own extremism. Both europe and muslim nations were thrown into dark ages by their own religion. I'm white and a college student.
