Actually, most of the material in the last Panic Albums were for the most part written by Ryan Ross. He's responsible for almost all of Panics sound. Also, lyrically...he contributed all of the lyrics in "A Fever You Can't Sweat". And anyways, the guitar work is great and very underrated.

I liked the first album a lot better than the second but I also really enjoyed the second. It had some really good songs on there. I think with the second album, they improved a lot, you can hear it in their live performances. I would love for them to go back to their style from the first album but I kind of want to see where they take this new style, it definitely has a lot of potential.

I think they're new album was a rushed piece of creative but unorganized music. It didn't appeal to (what I've noticed) MOST of their old fans, but attracted some new ones. In terms of which album was better, it's purely opinion, but it is fact that the first one was MUCH more successful. Just look at the popularity rankings on iTunes.

Panic actually might have been taken more seriously if they had written pretty odd first because people thought they were just whiny teenagers for their first album. Thats why no one took pretty odd seriously and thats why it didn't do as well as their first album, because critics just thought they were those same whiny teens except they were trying to be the beatles which isn't true at all. Pretty odd wouldn't have done AS well but it certainly wouldn't have ended their careers.
