Looking at history ... all true. But today you can choose. Possibilities of natural birth are unlimited. So why is the choice of medical help? If you like a team of anesthetist/gynecologist/surge­on to give live, it shouldn´t be rejected. Even not by social correctness. Todays women are not as tough as they may have been in ancient times. And shouldn´t be forced to this.

@VisFeminea Nobody forces ANY woman to go to the hospital. Women CHOOSE to go to the hospital. They go for the choice of having an epideral if they choose and they go for safety. Since when do hospitals handcuff women and force them to come to the hospital???? Give me a break.

@ach1088 That is such BS. Insurance companies do not pay for a midwife BECAUSE they are not trained in medicine, and the insurance companies KNOW that problems are going to arise with midwives. It would cost the much more money to use midwives due to liability that to use hospitals and doctors. If you want the best for your baby and yourself, go to a hospital and use an OBGYN or medical doctor.

I feel more women really need to know how the body works! we used the bradley method for natural childbirh. our home birth is titled "willows birth" here on utube. it is begining to end, with notes through out explaining what hosiptals risks are compaired to natural birth. check out my video and please share it to educate women and end the fear of birth.
