Walmart are very cruel to their fishes that they sale. they rarely feed them. If your lucky you might get to point out the cruelness the employees give to their aquarium section. There was this one day when I purchased my long-tail female Betta from my neighborhood Walmart, I noticed that in one tank the molly's were eating each other due to starvation, and the bottom crabs were eating each other along with the droppings of molly fins and flesh.
I got mine from Wal-Mart she's in some of my videos. Her name is MoMo. I went to check on the bettas there once after I got her. There were 3 1 male 2 females. Only one female was still alive.
they live in small puddles in the wild in dirty water so shut up and stop being dumb . yes they need water changes when ever necessary but what is bad is he fact this shop displays dead fish
That is so fu**ed UP!!! U got my 2 betta fish from Walmart when I seen them in 3 inches of water I felt bad so u bought them and now they are in a 1 gallon tank but as of right now the male is guarding the fish fry and there both so so so soooo........ Beautiful
Wtf I've never seen any pets at my Walmart, I got my 4 betas from petsmart and they were kept in MUCH better condition than this!!! This is so CRULE, how could they! Fuck them!😱😨😭
I saved my bata from Walmart yesterday he lives in a 5 gallon tank he loves it it has light great filter and nice plants and rocks :) I'll make vid soon
i saw about 30 of these at my local wal mart and i felt so bad for them. although i wanted to save them all i only had room for 1 i chose the one that had so little water in his cup that he had to lay on his side to be submerged in it. i could only afford a half gallon tank for him but at least its a little more room than a half a centimeter of water ya know?
@Axel10011 Same here. Mine didn't have so little water that he was laying on his side but, he had maybe less then an inch of water to swim in and this was at a pet store. He now lives in a bout a gallon- no heater or filter but hey it is better then an inch of water in a bowl I wouldn't even grow a plant in.
The Bettas Probably passed cause of ammonia billd up in the cups well waiting for someone to buy them. It is deffinatly a sad ending to such beautiful fish.
@dangerinthechamber45 It isn't the price. It is the fact that these are live creatures. It would be like some big huge creature like a whale or something thinking you are just a little human so your death wouldn't matter... Not true!
Its tough to say when people like this video if they actually like dead bettas or they just like the video itself. Also if they dislike it do they hate when people do this at walmart or they just dont like the video. Also I have seen with my own eyes AT PETSMART!! BETTAS STACKED!!!!!
all pet stores in my area take bad care of their bettas. bunch of idiots, bettas arent even that hard to care for. And they'd probably sell more if they're healthier and livelier.e
Poor little guys, I got mine from wal-mart cause he was the only one alive and I didn't want to see him end up dead. I wish if stores and pet stores where going to buy and sell Bettas they would take better care of them, it is just sad
That was one of the most sad things I have ever seen on here fish-wise. Never purchase from walmart or even a petstore, go to a reputable breeder or a hobbyist for your fish guys, I have been owning and breeding bettas for a while and it kills to see ones like this in these tiny jars when mine are happily swimming in their tanks or guarding their bubblenests.
I work in a pet store and my boss generally cares about ALL of his animals.
All of our baby male betta fish have their own 3 liter square tank and before everyone buys them we educate them. Their not cheap either.... £24.99 for a white male betta and we have our own breeding tank aswell.
i once went to walmart and i saw a poor betta in the same cup with a dead molding fish and a dead spider. i wanted to buy it, but that is too nasty...
I'm sorry, but EVERYONE needs to realize that Wal-marts are STOCKED with betta fishes, my local wal-mart(s) have over 100 of them and yes, it's very sad that they aren't placed in larger homes/containers... but if you think about it, do you think they can dedicate an entire ISLE for these 100+ betta fishes? IDTS.
This is why i buy my fish at Petsmart or get them from my friends. Walmart kills all living creatures. At my wallmart in the molly tank fish carcases and bones where sucked up against the filter, the rest suffering and dieing.
Wow, is it THAT hard to take the dead Bettas and flush them down a toilette or something? maybe more people would be tempted to buy one if they didn't have a whole bunch of dead molding fishes there, I just got a betta from Wal-mart about a week ago ( I named him Rafiki, like the monkey on Lion King, it also means "friend") and there were several dead molding fishes there! it was disgusting!
I was at walmart a few days ago looking for a fish, and in the tanks there were like 8 fish all squished together DEAD in like each tank! Stupid walmart. And a lot half dead

but anyone knowing so little about bettas that they would ever buy one from any store, does not know enougth about them to own one yet or be able care for it properly! buy a goldfish or almost any other species theres less you need to know to properly care for them. they breathe air through lung-like organ cause they can breathe air can survive in smal;l water is only reason people think they normal hearty goldfish type fish- they are not! they are hardest to properly care for! buy a goldfish!
@ThaiTyBeta Chill bro. I got one of these from Walmart and it lives in a little one or two gallon aquarium by itself and has lived forever, and I've know many other people that have had these things survive forever with little to no maintenance. Its kinda like comparing a mutt to a very specific breed, yeah the high priced ones are cool and beautiful but they're not as hearty.
@DarthEthong467 youre an idiot and fact you buy betta from wal mart proves it. its like saying i gotta flea infested mutt from pound 2 yrs ago keep him outside in alaka all winter in cage hes fine lots people do it
@DarthEthong467 breeders who sell to wal mart distributor only get 1 dollar for femalesand 2 dollars for males thats why they dont sell any good fish to them and only sell bottom of barrel and flawed fish god your stupid, youre arguing with one the best breeders in world and also breeder of over 150 other non betta species, and a marine biologist about bettas? thats hillarious- god your stupidity astounds me
@ThaiTyBeta No, actually I'm wasting my time talking to a pompous, arrogant, piece of **** who just calls everyone else an idiot. Guess what? NO ONE GIVES A **** ABOUT YOUR **** FISH! I admire your knowledge and passion about Bettas I really do, but you don't need to be an *** about it.
@DarthEthong467 the only one an ass is you , didnt tell you look at my fish and youre the only idiot cause every human being on earth whose read any betta info, or single betta article or magazine etc the first thing every one is told is to never never ever ever buy from pet shops because breeders who sell to them do not sell anything but the poorest quality to them because they are only paid 1-2 bucks fopr fish, everyone done even tiny amount research its the first thing only from breeder!
@DarthEthong467 and speaking of wasting time- the number one thing every one reads learns knows understands about bettas is to never ever buy from stores and only from good breeder for 6 diff reasons- youre arguing with not only best breeder and marine biologists but youre arguing fact common knowledge everyone knows who knows even tiny bit bout bettas- youre stupid azz mine as well argue bout gravity or the sun, something else everyone else but ypou knows bout. youre an idiot.
@ThaiTyBeta Look bro, you've got beautiful Bettas and you are obviously a very intelligent individual, but not everyone wants to spend $50 or more on a fish and if they did they certainly would have the intelligence not to get their fish from Walmart. I was probably wrong in my original comment. But honestly, compared to living on a shelf in a tiny little cup their whole lives, ANY kind of home these cheap *** Bettas go to has got to be better than anything they've known.
@DarthEthong467 your tone is better then origionally as so ill not shgred ytou nearly as bad as was going to this time- ill say this though- im the best betta breeder of the best bettas in all of usa and asia and i sell my fish from 12-20 with few over 25, i started my business so i could sell best bettas in world for less money so folks no longer have to spend 50 for good ones and 50 in shipping from overseas!! you can get best in world under 20-25 from me just let you know, not have do 50!!
@DarthEthong467 #2- but youre right before i opened my business it was 50 or more for good bettas, but not any more for 15-25 can get best in world genetics from me, but my point was if someone not willing to pony up the price of good betta then dont buy betta, if you cant afford a 25 dollar fish you cant afford care for it either! cant afford the 30 in water conditioners etc you need either so if you do know to never buy betta from any store but cant afford 20? dont get a betta get goldfish
same shit at the one by my home. the let all the fish die and leave them there. sick fucks. WHERE IS THE EPA or PETA WHEN REAL PROBLEMS ARE GOING ON LIKE THIS ??? OH no i remember, EPA is as useless as FDA FCC FAA wooow now we all have learned something today.
@2late4thisshat Omg a fish died, its the end of the world! Seriously, its just a fish. Yeah its kinda sick for them to sit on the shelf like that, but its a fish...
I went to Walmart yesterday wanting to buy a Betta Fish but all of them didn't look to good, and when I picked up their little tub things a bunch of crap floated up.
So instead, I just bought 2 of them and gave them some nice rocks, plants, food... why can't Walmart give them real homes like that until they are bought?
Selling live animals from walmart should be banned, they dont take care of them ,they dont feed them enough, they dont change their water , they stack the cups which prevents oxyen from comeing in ...steal them from walmart they dont deserve your money
There is a guy that takes care of the fish at the walmart I go to. O-O he took really good care of them or at least the ones in the tank, but i think they fired him cause he wasn't going much else...
I am not being rude or anything but this is WALMART D; the corporate kings of stores. Since they decided to sell real live beings of COURSE THEY WOULDNT TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS. :*( Walmart only feeds them once every four days and they NEVER clean or take care of them. Most of them die and walmart never even goes in that area to get rid of them and thats also the reason why they die in the first place. if u see one alive just take him walmart doesnt deserve ur money. THUMBS UP IF U AGREE.
@rainbowpixx I went to Walmart, and I found them all alive, but they didn't move very much and they were in an open area where someone could poke at them. Walmart is EVIL. There's even a documentary about it.
lol at this fool with his Walmart Rescue.. Stores don't give a fuck if you buy a fish because of the color, type or because you wanted to rescue the fish. What they see is that they are running out of fish and they need more. they are inexpensive so having 300, selling 50 but losing 250 is still profitable. Rescue? no just being naive. that one fish you "rescued" got "replaced" by another, Supply and Demand. intentions in the right place brain in your ass case.
Yeah i went yesterday to Wal-Mart and it sadden me that they dont freakin feed the fish so i bought my betta fish there cause it looked depressed... and when i was purchasing it i told the Cashier do you guys even feed the fish here n she looked all scared it was funny i wanted to laugh n she was like oh oh oh yeah they do in da fish department... and guess what i did????? well when i was around the fishes i opened a small container containing fish flakes n feed all da fish n i some betta too:)
@xhyperxchicx16 Because feeding their fish for them and doing their employees job is totally going to help Wal-mart stop being irresponsible and actually employ someone to take proper care of the animals in their store. No offense dude, but by doing what you did - giving them money for that fish and taking care of the ones you didn't buy - you're only helping to ensure their mistreatment continues. Just saying.
@tinintri umm dude... i wanted to buy a betta fish either way and ummm i reported their asses..... i even filed a complain to the manager...... so yeah.... i just wanted to feed the fish cause i felt like it.... either way there gonna keep on doing the same shit....

Hello, thanks for the reply.. i am glad to hear that.. these are beautiful fish and deserve to be taken care of. if you go to my channel you can see a clip i took of roy. i warn you he's pretty rude.
have a persmart that at least knows what they are doing. I am glad of that.I mean Bettas are not the most troublesome fish in the world..they are pretty easy to take care of and offer great viewing..(except mine, he's lazy and rude- but i love him anyhow) do yourself a favor and dont move- you have a great store there. best of luck and once again thanks for the reply.
Thanks for the reply.... I have had nothing but bad advice from the "experts" at ANY of the chain stores.I always try them because they do often have the least expensive items and cheap prices.I find the Advice wrong most of the time.I stopped going to the Mom and pops because they were so expensive. I quickyl found out that there is more to shopping than saving a few dollars..The reason i used to go to the chains for advice is because i dont know any better.I am glad that you
i bought a betta fish at wall mart today and i worried about the other fish that where on the shelf and now i feel bad but now one is alive in 4 gal tank named zeta betta .
I Saw Some Acouple Weeks Ago Then The People Saw Us Looking AT The Dead Ones And Said They Arent Dead And The Man Fought with Me Saying It Was Alive And I Said Shake The Tub He Said Y I Said Go Ahead Its Dead you Just dont Wanna Because Your A Dick And I Told the Manger And He Fired Him and SAid YOU DONT TALK TO THEM LIKE THAT I No That Because The Boss Had The Speaker On And Was To Dumb To Turn It Off
wait.. there people who really buy fish at walmart, petsmart, petco? Cmon.... go to a real store that knows hows to deal with fish. it's like going to pepboys for a tune up..
My local walmart, only 1 of 4 in the city sold fish, stopped selling fish almost a year ago. Thankfully cause almost everytime I took my kids to see the fish on a trip to this walmart, the tanks were all labeled wrong, tanks were tiny even for short term stays.
Sad sight here....looks like nobody even bothered to change the water for weeks. They can thrive in small areas, as long as the water is well cared for...changed regularly. They live in rice flats and bogs in the wild which is very shallow and warm. The biggest mistake people make with them is either not changing the water in their bowls, or putting them in too big of a tank with too much current. Too aggressive water movement will stress them out ...even damaging their fins
It's really heartbreaking because if you do buy the fish you're encouraging Wal-Mart to continue doing this, and by not buying the fish you're sentencing it to death.
I think Ryantumbler has the right idea honestly... steal the poor fuckers, they'll lose out on money AND the fish will be saved...
Today I was at walmart and I stole a betta fish because they didnt deserve my money for it :) I just walked right out and no one noticed :D Maybe if they would take better care of them and not cram as many fish in a tank as they can and keep clean water and keep the right fish together then I would consider not stealing fish from them
@ryantumbler how did you stole the fish? I want to do it xD ... yeah I feel sorry for the little bettas I can't believe I bought two from walmart. And how did you walk out and no one noticed if everything has a code bar thing and when u steel something the machine thing starts to make noises :$ ...

2. No filter or heater
3. No one to clean the water - left swimming in their own waste

DarthEthong467 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 youre an idiot and fact you buy betta from wal mart proves it. its like saying i gotta flea infested mutt from pound 2 yrs ago keep him outside in alaka all winter in cage hes fine lots people do it
ThaiTyBeta 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 breeders who sell to wal mart distributor only get 1 dollar for femalesand 2 dollars for males thats why they dont sell any good fish to them and only sell bottom of barrel and flawed fish god your stupid, youre arguing with one the best breeders in world and also breeder of over 150 other non betta species, and a marine biologist about bettas? thats hillarious- god your stupidity astounds me
ThaiTyBeta 4 months ago
@ThaiTyBeta No, actually I'm wasting my time talking to a pompous, arrogant, piece of **** who just calls everyone else an idiot. Guess what? NO ONE GIVES A **** ABOUT YOUR **** FISH! I admire your knowledge and passion about Bettas I really do, but you don't need to be an *** about it.
DarthEthong467 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 the only one an ass is you , didnt tell you look at my fish and youre the only idiot cause every human being on earth whose read any betta info, or single betta article or magazine etc the first thing every one is told is to never never ever ever buy from pet shops because breeders who sell to them do not sell anything but the poorest quality to them because they are only paid 1-2 bucks fopr fish, everyone done even tiny amount research its the first thing only from breeder!
ThaiTyBeta 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 and speaking of wasting time- the number one thing every one reads learns knows understands about bettas is to never ever buy from stores and only from good breeder for 6 diff reasons- youre arguing with not only best breeder and marine biologists but youre arguing fact common knowledge everyone knows who knows even tiny bit bout bettas- youre stupid azz mine as well argue bout gravity or the sun, something else everyone else but ypou knows bout. youre an idiot.
ThaiTyBeta 4 months ago
@ThaiTyBeta Look bro, you've got beautiful Bettas and you are obviously a very intelligent individual, but not everyone wants to spend $50 or more on a fish and if they did they certainly would have the intelligence not to get their fish from Walmart. I was probably wrong in my original comment. But honestly, compared to living on a shelf in a tiny little cup their whole lives, ANY kind of home these cheap *** Bettas go to has got to be better than anything they've known.
DarthEthong467 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 your tone is better then origionally as so ill not shgred ytou nearly as bad as was going to this time- ill say this though- im the best betta breeder of the best bettas in all of usa and asia and i sell my fish from 12-20 with few over 25, i started my business so i could sell best bettas in world for less money so folks no longer have to spend 50 for good ones and 50 in shipping from overseas!! you can get best in world under 20-25 from me just let you know, not have do 50!!
ThaiTyBeta 4 months ago
@DarthEthong467 #2- but youre right before i opened my business it was 50 or more for good bettas, but not any more for 15-25 can get best in world genetics from me, but my point was if someone not willing to pony up the price of good betta then dont buy betta, if you cant afford a 25 dollar fish you cant afford care for it either! cant afford the 30 in water conditioners etc you need either so if you do know to never buy betta from any store but cant afford 20? dont get a betta get goldfish

You should write a letter to the company to complain about this. Maybe they will change the store or not even sell fish at all.
pinkstardust99 6 months ago
I am not being rude or anything but this is WALMART D; the corporate kings of stores. Since they decided to sell real live beings of COURSE THEY WOULDNT TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS. :*( Walmart only feeds them once every four days and they NEVER clean or take care of them. Most of them die and walmart never even goes in that area to get rid of them and thats also the reason why they die in the first place. if u see one alive just take him walmart doesnt deserve ur money. THUMBS UP IF U AGREE.

lol at this fool with his Walmart Rescue.. Stores don't give a fuck if you buy a fish because of the color, type or because you wanted to rescue the fish. What they see is that they are running out of fish and they need more. they are inexpensive so having 300, selling 50 but losing 250 is still profitable. Rescue? no just being naive. that one fish you "rescued" got "replaced" by another, Supply and Demand. intentions in the right place brain in your ass case.

xhyperxchicx16 6 months ago
@xhyperxchicx16 Because feeding their fish for them and doing their employees job is totally going to help Wal-mart stop being irresponsible and actually employ someone to take proper care of the animals in their store. No offense dude, but by doing what you did - giving them money for that fish and taking care of the ones you didn't buy - you're only helping to ensure their mistreatment continues. Just saying.

CairnTerrier69 7 months ago 2
