I have looked at lots of Nickle Creek videos and can't tell the maker of chris's mandolin. Does any one know? I think it's a Red Dimond , but not sure.
@rockguitar1200 Well, I'm sure you know the guitar. It looks (and sounds) like the other guy is playing a mandolin. And the lady is playing a violin, which in a folk/bluegrass context is more commonly known as a fiddle. But fiddle and violin are the same instrument, just played in a different style. Her style seems to be in between fiddle and violin style, which is incredibly cool!

Sean and Sara are from Cali. The singer, Chris is from Murray, Ky. I live here. I bought guitar strings from him when he worked at the local music store and let me tell you there is no more intimidating thing than to hear him play guitar in person. I felt b.a.d. about myself when I heard him play. Tremendously nice guy tho. Last time I saw them live I think he said he's in Nashville now. One of the coolest groups I listen to.
You should check out their CD's. They're a very eclectic group. Bluegrass for sure, classical chamber music, Irish folk, Celtic, these are influences. It's good stuff.

They are from Carlsbad, California! They are fantastic musicians and people as well. I met them at Sean and Sara's residence at the Largo. If anyone lives relatively near Los Angeles go to a Watkin's Family Hour show at the Largo! It's well worth it!

They are from Carlsbad, California! They are fantastic musicians and people as well. I met them at Sean and Sara's residence at the Largo. If anyone lives relatively near Los Angeles go to a Watkin's Family Hour show at the Largo! It's well worth it!

wow,.. these guys are great!,.. never heard of them. I will going to borders next week and order their CD. can anyone post where there from? Great talent. As soon as I get their CD this music will be heard in Puerto Rico.
