  • I love being black. I am one with nature

  • I wonder how many cases of skin cancer have they found in black Americans? hmmm...

  • amazing how they make it seem like blacks are the sickests, fattests, and unhealthiest on the planet. seems like to me its the other way around. our dna should not even be measured with nor by theirs. we need our own scales and measurements based on us.

  • white ppl are very weak that is why they steal our genes. we have to get away from these ppl.

  • @heckler171 do alot of people think like you?

  • The Way of All Flesh by Adam Curtis

just in case someone is looking for the whole documentary

  • "harmless monkey virus"

    SV40?

did they mix SV40 with HeLa Cells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This film raised some questions in my mind. One of the most glaring is the statement that she's descended from Benjamin LACKS, a slave-holder. But LACKS is her husband's name and her's is PLEASANT. So, what other errors exist?

I e-mailed the producer at the BBC to ask about this, but haven't gotten a response as yet.

  • in response to pam000damonium-

She could also be said to be descended from teh lacks line. Her husband was her first cousin. Her mothers, father (grandfather) was Lacks. What I haven't seen yet is how she became Henrietta when she was born Loretta

  • @pam000damonium well she married her first cousin so bejamin lacks could of very well been his off spring.

  • @pam000damonium Hi - ever hear back from BBC? Very curious...

  • The World needs to see this NOW put it on all the news show's and let us know what else they have been doing with our CELL'S.

  • @streetera7

I think the book promises to be fascinating!

  • Could these stars turn out to raise money to get Mrs. Lacks a head stone. Those scientists need to be ashamed of themselves, and their cock sure attitudes.

  • @grlykool

I read at the Baltimore newspaper article site (I think) that the family prefers to leave her grave unmarked.

They are concerned about grave tampering. Probably a little over-reacting, but with the way they've treated...

  • @pam000damonium

Sorry - I should have said that the statement was in the comments section.

  • @grlykool; not only giver her a head stone but healt insurance for the lacks and finanicail support

  • @grlykool

Some time this year, a head stone was placed on her grave in Virginia after her family was able to locate her unmarked grave. I believe it came from an anonymous donor.

  • @bayisla Oh good this is great to hear. I was just reading her book and was angry that her grave was unmarked. Thanks for this information.

  • @grlykool Yep, they ought to be ashamed of themselves. The degredation and ignorance of these racist pigs who continue to abuse and degrad us yet they harvest us like animals. As if we're food. They act like we're so diseased and flaw when we are actually saving their pathetic lives.

  • @filmtress The doctor in question wasn't being racist; it was usual for doctors to take samples from pacients and use them as they wished. Or so I heard. I was reading wikipedia of course, so I could be wrong.

  • @MrColuber Yeah, you're wrong. Wikipedia is unreliable. It can be manipulated by anyone who choses to alter it. Use some real scholarship. Read "Medical Apartheid - The Dark History of Medical Experimentation on Black Americans from Colonial Times to the Present" by Harriet A. Washington.

Universities such as Duke, Pennsyvannia, Alabama, Yale, and Johns Hopkins are very guilty of years and years of testing and experiementing on us. They should get whatever they dished out!

  • @grlykool

i wouldnt be suprised if they didnt even know about it. seriously. I just found out about it a couple months ago via Bobby Hemmit.

  • Another great and informative post! Thanks!!!

  • this is mad!!, does it mean that black cells are stronger?? or is it beacuse all peoples come from black, so if a black person gets cancer then its latches on to any other cell(white)???

    Facinating!!

  • they forget to mention the russian blacks that lived there and where the Russians devolved from

    fucking crackas!!

  • Wow. Never heard this story. Glad I ran across it.

  • word me to.
