You can't blame HTM for Jake's addicitons, if that story about the guitar is even true. You can't blame Jake to some extent. Opiate painkillers - fun as they are highly physically addictive by nature. They're actually shown to quickly restructure your neurology. Anyone can get hooked. However, Jake had to ultimately take responsibility for his own well being, bite the bullet, and kick his habits. But Jake clearly has a lot of emotional baggage, and he's self medicating.

Jake Roberts is truly a man gifted with a silver tongue. Doesn't need a loud voice to get a message across. You'd think he's one of those guys that has a miserable end waiting in for him but totally turned things around. It's one of those humbling real life stories if anyone has seen it.
