Personally if I could have any Mustang, it would have to be the 03-04 Mach 1. The scoop on the hood, front diffuser, and rear spoiler all look pretty sick. The GT500 may be more powerful, but It costs nearly twice as much, and it eats up gas just as quickly.

I got a question with the terminator what mods do you have to do to it to get it in the 800,900,1000hp range. I'm running those numbers with a stock rear end on my Shelby and have only upgraded with a carbon drive shaft. Is it the same for independent rear.

Well some say Ford is very conservative on the numbers ( hp ) for the mustang and the terminator and is more like 430-440 hp for the cobra.

I own an 04 blk cobra (2.76, 100mm idler, jlt cai, tune, upr o/r x-pipe, unknown mufflers, 440rwhp est.)btw. F'n awesome cars love the terminators to death and I would take an 03/04 over a gt500 anyday!!!

@brianjdike83 yeah dude nice i have a silver one its got 19k on it and 471hp 485tq i got one of the good motors put those numbers down on a mustang dyno( bbk cold air,2.76 pullie,o/r x-pipe, and borla mufflers love the car to death it beats the shit out of everything i race sti's evo's and m3's really have a hard on for me i kill them ever time they get so pissed lol but as much as i love my car i have driven the gt500's and stock for stock and mod for mod the gt500's are much faster =(

I sold my 04 terminator for an 08 gt500, I loved them both. The Shelby clearly has more star power and much improved interior, but it is much heavier and much more costly. I wish I could have afforded to keep them both. Ps all the talk about IRS on the cobra being superior is in reality a negative, the Shelby is much more predictable when you are trying to be a drift star on the street or on the track ;-)

@cobra2004t Good LORD where did you get THIS delusion? To start with 5.0 mag did a completely unbiased test using an 08 Shelby and a 03 Termy. Stock to stock, the Shelby had a faster et and trap. EQUAL mods(pulley, tune, CAI) the Shelby had SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER ets and traps. Blow up at 700HP ??? There are 8 and 900 Shelbys all over the place, even on Utube. Sorry but Termies were replaced by Shelbys. I like both, but it is what it is.

Well, they have it straighter than the factory. The stock '03/'04 Cobra made 370 HP AT THE TIRES! therfore, crank HP was at 430 or so.

but they did mess up on the torque rating, since Ford UNDERRATED it at 390/390.

the gt500 owner is a member of my forums and he said the cobra is not stock it had an upper pully intake and exhaust, so stock for stock the gt500 is faster,

GT500 is probably way faster but for it's money the SVT Cobras are sick. 20k will get you a high 12 low 13 second car.

Dude, I know in this video the GT500 is slower, but thats because it is very difficult to launch it, if they launch it correctly those cars are capable of makind 12.4s. I'm saying this because I've seen them in local race tracks, I can only make a 12.9 in my Terminator, I know I'm not the best driver, but the numbers aren't that close. I love my terminator, but I accept when a car is faster, and the GT500 is. Do you really think a 365whp car beats a 440-450whp car? REALLY?

You silly dufas ! the terminator is just not that fast c6 vets with exhaust and a mild tune will waste the cobra . The terminator has a few different things that hold it back. Its actually cheaper to sell the early terminator and get the newer gt500

The 03' Cobra was factory rated at 390 HP & 390 TQ not 370 TQ. My buddys 03' Cobra dyno'd 372 to the wheels bone stock so they were underrated.
