i like this..and can pick up some ideas.however its way to fast when you play the in between little licks..i wish you could slow those bits right down and show us..does the video i buy go into more detail?
Now, if only Martin would make a guitar that sounded like this Gibson. You're right. Blake's right hand stuff is a total mind f***. Great job on showing how its done. Bravo! See ya 1/29/11.
this is a great video, and helps . . . but its too arduous to learn this kind of playing just by ear and eye! the way Youtube videos work make it lengthy. Do you think there's any sheet music transcriptions of blind blake tunes?
Markken, how long had you been playing guitar before you bought the dvd? I'm not a musician but would love to learn how to play Country Blues on the guitar. It strikes me as rather difficult to play though, especially when we talk about guys like Skip James, McTell, Blake, etc. Would you say that Mann's dvd is for the uninitiated?
em , i hadnt ever really played blues before, and im not a natural, i was just learning classical pieces from tab,i would be lost without tab, and in the dvd you get the tab for the songs, so between trying to watching the vid and using the tab, it comes together, as always getting the speed and rythm takes some practice, i think its for intermediate players, but hey anyone can have a go, one thing though,im used to finger plucking as i learned that way from day one, im playing around ten years.
i bought a woody mann dvd, 4 blues tunes , fingerstyle blues, my favorite tunes to play, songs are based on blind lemons and bill broonzys playing. great blues riffs.
i'm already in tune woody don't fucking patronise me
