  • The delicate nature of natural ecosystems can be dangerously compromised if disrupted by the disappearance of a vital organism. We must know that it doesn't matter how large or small a creature, all life has great importance. Is there nothing to be said of the responsibility of the farmers who have nearly wiped the San Joaquin River off the map? YES, jobs are important but are The People of California not deserving of protecting whats left of a forever changed natural landscape?

  • Government of the people, by the people for the Chinese. . .

  • man that's some tough stuff... I have alot of friends who farm in that area.

Personally I don't think this is Obama's fault though...

Anyway, I hope things get better.

  • there must be a way to share water and save the fish and still keep farming alive, this is an exemple of a ridiculous money politics situation. Water is the 21st century's petroleum, in a lot of countries a liter of water is expensiver than a liter of gasoline, just south of the border of california, buy a "ciel" bottle of water, a lite of gas and make the count...

  • Fuck the the god damn fish and worry about the American people that are hurting, why can't we get our heads out of our asses and remember who is important. Not the fucking fishes or the middle east or Africa or whatever. Can't help anyone else if we can't help our selves.

  • Well Paul, you voted for those fucking liberal assholes. Now you get the shaft. Remember who did this to you.

  • @braindeadliberals - when you vote , you can comment. Until then shut the fuck up dumbass teenage neocon douchebag.

  • @bnfox Hey you fucking POS libtard: I've been voting for 35 years. How did you manage to type this with your head so far up your ass? Fuck the fish, help the people.

  • @braindeadliberals - your insults are as pathetic as your empty ideology.Still love how neocunts like you accuse anyone who punks them a liberal - it's so predictable. I'm actually far more conservative than you - just not a total dumbshit like you. 35 years? Since when did they give fetus the right to vote. And i bet you DO fuck fish.

  • @braindeadliberals Paul is a republican LMAO!

  • u know, i say save the human race before saving any kinda animals. dang..

  • i have met paul in person

    great job paul

    Im in Mexicali

  • @plum413

@MendotaTech The problem is that we have no one with balls to stand to this MAFIA...ALL A BUNCH OF FAGS IN AMERICA....they export our jobs and enslave us all and you all lay down.

Anyone that has lost his/her job, house or business, deserves it!...........

They stole it from you and you did nothing, shame on all of you.

I hope your kids will blame you for it someday.

The founders of this nation you'd be ashamed of today's generation.

  • I am a fish, and I resent the arguments by sean hannity and paul rodriguez. Bush said that people and fish could co-exist, doesn't look like we are.

  • Those crazy people in Washington are probably on drugs cause this makes absolutley no sense. We need water to grow and we need jobs, The smelt can go to hell, we need JOBS and WATER!!

  • the truth it the need the water flow threw the delt out to sea to flush the sewage they dump into the delta. The smelt is an excuse .

  • the truth it the need the water flow threw the delt out to sea to flush the sewage they dump into the delta. The smelt is an excuse .

  • I love how Hannity feels the need to emphasize the the minnow is two-inches long. That shows that as far as Hannity's concerned, tiny creatures can be pulled right out of the food chain and nothing bad will happen to the balance of nature. It scares the hell outta me that Hannity has the level of influence that he does.

  • @JRserver So we should kill 80,000 humans to possibly save a species from extinction -- something that's always been happening to species around the world for millions of years? I don't think Hannity or myself want to see any animal go extinct, but when tens of thousands of humans are hurting, you need to make the right decision and turning on the water is the solution. Not to mention with modern science there are probably many alternatives to preventing extinction in this species.

  • @timothyg55 First off, I would STRONGLY advise against using Hannity as a reliable source of information if your interested in the time of day, much less this situation, particularly given that the pumps have been on since June 30, and Hannity did his "Valley that hope forgot" thing in September.

Secondly, and I know that this is anathema to the Fox News audience, but it might behoove us as a species to take the advice of what the scientific community says will help or hurt us in the long run

  • @timothyg55 Hannity all fails to mention that the problem has much more to do with drought than shutting the pumps off, but then why let the facts get in the way of Fox News running an Obama hit piece?

  • @timothyg55 This is more than the extinction of a species, its about the health of the delta and ocean ecosystem and preserving a way of life. Nobody will die if pumping is reduced, most of the water goes to subsidized farming of cotton and rice that is not even eaten by CA residents but is exported. If pumping continues at the rate it does then the delta will become too saline to support its current species AND the water will be no good for human use either.

  • they actually said that land was being threatened by fish, fox news sucks

  • And that is why I love this man!!!! Love you Paul!!!!

  • hey tamtom actually u r the illegal california mexicans are the real natives one day china will want all the money owed to them by the US and if they decide they want to be paid in land u will be the first illegal lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol! you don't have a clue.

  • @1tamtom WHATEVER YOU SAY WETBACK HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • lol have not heard that word since Chavez used to beat illegals and force them off the farm.

  • @1tamtom sounds like i hit a nerve times r changing either follow or get out of the way

  • we will see.

  • know your history first dumbass before you say something

  • @pa213 man fuck you go sit on a cactus and spin on it until you grow some brain cells fkn idiopt

  • truth hurts huh fagot?? nah u go do that im not that stupid

  • @pa213 you know how i can tell you r lieing " you r moving ur lips" and i am pretty sure i am not the first person to call you a idiot!!!!

  • i kno i aint liying fagot u sound like a fuckn female w/ those gay ass comments so shut the fuck up already

  • @pa213 man whatever everyone is tough on the web check your oil you sound like u blew a gasket haahahahaahahaha

  • i would say shut down all farms who hires illegal aliens and sell off that property to a real American who will only hire legal workers! they cost all the areas around do to their mass. then they spill over into other areas again never paying their own way, popping out kids that tax payers have to support. proving they are costing the whole state.a local hospital had to shut down do to them.

  • A real american would have to pay real money to real americans... not too convenient for them is it????

  • @1tamtom your farm would be broke in a year cause noone will work as hard for the wage u r a idiot most farm workers never see a socisl security check in their life yet it is deducted from their pay you r a moron

  • i live in mendota...and no i'm not on welfare....there's actually a lot more ppl who aren't illegal, then you think. I'm not extremely sympathizing to illegal immigrants, but seriously If we've been able to feed a lot of america in this valley, why not use the oppurtunity? i say turn off SF watersupplies from Hetch Hetchez(however u spell that) and let them feel the pinch...

  • Funny ! When a specie of fish is thought to be endangered presumptively by biologists in regards to the comm. fishing industry, they are quick to shut down the fishery. Yet, when a specie of fish is in danger due to water crisis, it becomes an ongoing onslaught with multitudes of argument.

  • stop talking about illegal immigrants this is going to effect the whole U.S. don't you see!

  • Comment removed

  • As for the unemployment (?) the right things is not to focus using the lack of H2O. Farmers neglected the water issues by focusing on an endless source of renewable illegal alien friendly employment practices years ago! IMMIGRATION issue is still being masked...the majority of the unemployed Paul speaks about ARE ILLEGAL aliens on EBT welfare and many other social service consumers LONG BEFORE the smelt excuse.

  • This population of unemployed is a mute point. Mendota and any other sanctuary city or town in California's central valley IS experiencing an economic correction. An over abundance of nonessential migrants, who just won't go back! Looks like they need a bread and fish miracle Ha! Please...I have no sympathy.

  • I saw those signs on dried up fields saying "congress created dust bowl" but I had no idea it was to protect the fish! You have to be FUCKING kidding me! These environmentalists need to get their priorities straight! That area supplies food to all of America! Without those farms, real people will suffer!

  • This would NEVER happen under Bush.

He said Humans and Fish could co-exist peacefully.

  • Most people dont understand the government WANTS YOU on welfare because then you NEED the government.

Before this shit is over, you can bet your ass nearly everyone will be relying on some government hand out just to survive and Obama will be the CEO of every corporation in America after the feds bail out the entire country.

  • fuck the govt subsidized farmers and fuck the illegal aliens. let them suffer like we have suffered having to deal with them.

those farmers are nothing but scum traitors.

  • Get an Education Buddy before you comment on this situation. Okay.

  • those water channels are man made and not supposed to be their in the first place. the water was never meant to be their. it's a bunch of traiterous govt subsidized farmer and a shitload of illegal aliens that it will hurt. FUCK THEM ALL.

grow veggies in your backyards you stupid faggots.

  • You know God gave man dominion over the world. Man is the master of the world. Youre a moron. Human being hater.

  • you're not a man, dumbfuck.

  • What am I if I am not a man. I have a human spirit. I walk upright, so Im not a primate. What the fuck are you talking about

  • Obama Czar works for Monsanto needs to buy the Small Farmers Property Cheap, Next to come Clean Water Act Federalize all Water even Rain Water belongs to Fed ,Next Animal ID ,Next Clean Food Act go to Jail for selling your neighbor a dozen eggs or tomatoes with out paper work if you violate any rule you loose your Land

  • thanks fox, why haven't I seen this till now? Oregon news? screen the pump. partition or shelter: a fixed or movable partition or frame that is used to conceal, divide, separate, or provide shelter. sheesh so simple

  • put a screen around the intake for the pump? or eat the fish?

  • The perfect icon for the democratic party- a JACK ASS!

  • That Central Valley (where I'm from) water came from an act of Congress:

The Rivers and Harbors Act of 1935

    Learn some history folks!

  • I seem to remember learning about the food chain in fourth grade. I think that Hannity needs to go back there, as he doesn't seem to get the concept.

  • 80.000 jobs?

More like 5% of 60 million. = 3 million jobs about to be wiped out.

  • what are you talking about?

  • see demographics.. total population and share of population in agriculture.

On the upsides, this just might save the californian economy... as the mexigoons will have to leave. And thus save hundreds of billions annually.

  • Okay, this doesn't affect an area with 60 million people (where did you get that number?). this affects only a portion of the California Central Valley (not, by any means, the whole state).

Hannity's an idiot; 3:45 -- "their trees are dying" (why would their trees die?). [talking about crops, which indeed easily grow back] "these things don't come back!" (while Hannity seems eager to see the delta smelt, and all species that rely on it, go extinct).

  • The reason why I'm saying all this is: this video is about FREEDOM. Every gripe and complaint we have is about FREEDOM. And the organisation that is stripping us systematically of freedoms through election cycles is clearly GOVERNMENT. It's time we DEMAND they listen; they govern by our CONSENT. Politicians are NOT better than us, and they do not have the right OR the authority to dictate how people live their lives or run their businesses.

  • There is no "left" and "right". This is America, and here there is only liberty and tyranny; the government cannot support either by degrees.

Regardless of whether or not a Republican or a Democrat is in office, it certainly doesn't support life, liberty and prosperity.

Government isn't respecting inalienable rights, taxes our income, is spending our grandchildren into debt through funding wars we shouldn't be involved with in the first place, and is siding with corporations over the people.

  • Look up AGENDA 21 and Codex Alimentarius, and the reasons behind this otherwise insane action will become VERY clear.

We need to stand together and tell government that it CANNOT do this to us any more. They govern by our CONSENT, and its time we removed consent from an illegal warmongering government serving not the people, but transnational corporations, that has turned the American republic into the American empire.

America needs to bring government back into constitutional bounds.

  • This isn't about Democrat or Republican; this is about a system that has been part of the US government no matter who is in the White House for a very long time. Bush wasn't conservative, and Obama isn't liberal.

Right now, Presidents are puppets for a transnational corporate military-industrial-media complex that started to gain unchecked power in the days of Eisenhower. Government NEVER acts in our best interests; only to line friends pockets. The American people need to stand together.

  • what you dont seem to relize is that these may be migrants that are losing their jobs mostly. but i hope you want to spend $5 for cantelope a peice O.o because our economy is going to die if obama keeps making mentaly retarted choices like this.

  • i think far less drastic measures are in order, maybe cultivating these fish somewhre else would be a good idea... better than CUTTING OFF 13 PERCENT OF OUR GODAM FOOD SUPPLY. wow preag you are 1 hellova left wing idiot... im sorry thats all there is to it. humans are more important that a fuking minnow... i mean i dont think we should be completely ignorant with our resources... but we should not destroy peoples lifes because of a fish...

  • "Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man will not himself find peace."

    Albert Schweitzer

  • I wanted to have 5 kids, but I knew I could not afford that many.People in poor countries have 5-6 children and it's my fault for starving to death?Let's just destroy nature completely because of third world shit, that have no responsibility. You did read the first part of my comment?.Did you understand it?I see nature's habitat being destroyed every day,in order to compensate for overpopulation. Change is needed in this world, and not in the rivers either.

  • americans come together no left right no dem rep americans take back your country never has this been allow in american history dont let it happen now! this will affect you its not thee problem its our problem!

  • All you shutup with this dem rep left right crap!thats just political BS that always leads people off the point! I heard about this a while back and i was outraged and still am. I have family that farms the valley mostly dairy. and i always hear how hard it is out there to make a living, and that was a good while ago. These POWERFUL ENVIROIDIOTS are killing California's economy and destroying the lives of the people whos hard work makes up the backbone of the US agriculture industry.

  • The International Bankers are destroying the CA economy ON PURPOSE. They destroy the businesses and then they BUY everything on the CHEAP.

This is not Democrat/Republican. The two party system is a diversion. The party in Washington is the Corporate Party. Obama got $1 million from Goldman Sachs. That's who pays him, and that's who he is working for.

  • Sean Hannity is such a clown. He looks like a fool next to Paul Rodrigruez. Good for Paul for trying to get a message out. Sean Hannity.. your presence ruins everything. Just die already.

  • Then why can't the other anyone else cover the story. They keep the rest of America in the dark.

80,000 jobs lost. That's not even the worst. Over 90% of many crops are provided to us by this valley. So you like the message? Congress and the senate voted it down. Where is CNN and MSNBC and ABC and CBS and NBC. All in BED with this administration. We the People need to vote out of office every Dem and Repub and Independent that votes down bills like this.

  • Hannity is a whore for the corporate elite.

He's NOT a conservative. He's a whore, a shill for the globalists to fool the sheep-like masses.

    DO NOT BE FOOLED AMERICA.

  • That is the only defense you have is name calling? ?? AND THE LIBS THINK WE ARE UNEDUCATED. lol Recently Sarah Palin has been deemed a "whore" LOL.. I can't stop laughing! Talk about ignorant. Grow up!

  • Hey Hannity...So if you support the farmers in Huron..,you also support the workforce in Huron.... 98% Mexican farmworkers and 84% Illegal Immigration...,So what will you do if the the water comes back but you have no laborers?......,Will you tell the President that you...."Please bring back the workers from Mexico"....

Jaja....you see how illegal immigrants are helping the Ca Central Valley..,,

  • This comes down to people vs people. We in north California have made a living off the fish here since before they turned desert into farmland. And over the past 20 years big agg like DOLE have been lobbying all they can to get more water than our rivers can give them.Hannity is not showing the rivers full of dead salmon up here. But i guess fisherman are liberals? He is also rooting for the single largest illegal immigration hot-spot in America.THAT is why your produce is so cheap.

  • I am the farthest thing from a liberal and I am a fisherman and I agree with you. The Salmon have been decimated due to the water diversion programs. Build a couple of desalination plants running off nuclear power. That would solve the water problems for the fish and the people of this state. Unfortunately the government of CA is in the pockets of the Green Gestapo.

  • Today it's the minnow and salmon, tomorrow the rest of the fish species, until our rivers are flowing with dark, pesticide full water. Why can't we lose these jobs? They are all illegal immigrant jobs.Everybody else in America is losing jobs, why kill the rivers and fish?Because illegals will have to move to another state or back to Central America?California has 1 foot in the grave.

  • This causes food prices to go up and people in africa can't afford higher food prices and stave to death.

I know to you a tiny fish are more important than a human life.

  • (2nd statement, cont'd from below)

I'm a small business owner, who - in this age of class warfare - has been told in lieu of a logical debate on capitalism, "I hope your business fails!" by a UCLA professor. So, I am suspicious this all comes down to harming any sort of profit.

Am I wrong? This sounds more complicated than just fish vs. people. Maybe it is. Can someone fill me in?

  • As a native Californian (hell, just a human), I'm concerned for these farmers and the workers. But confused how, in this age of amazing technology, we can't solve both problems: fish & farming.

In the bitter battle of back and for words, I have yet to hear why there can't be a logical solution (doh! the government's involved, is my suspicion) But, seriously... What's going on?

One more statement - con'td above)

  • This is such a heartbreaking situation. How anyone could be in favor of killing the livelihoods of this mass of people in favor of a stupid fish is beyond me.

  • @gadgetlady

maybe its not a congress legislation change but the fact that the central valley was drained for agriculture a century ago and as agriculture has gotten much larger the enormous quantities of water to continue to be a world food exporter is not a feasible option anymore under the threat of ecological degradation. There used to be salmon runs and grizzly bears in bakersfield a little over 100 years ago.

  • look up Tulare Lake on wikipedia.

  • Hey RC, why don't you go to the Valley, hand out food to the 80, 000 people living and suffering there and spout off your BS. Go tell the kids there that the fish is more important then they are. And if you look up the species list, ONLY the Delta Smelt is mentioned. You activist moron! Go take a look at Zimbabwe, they starve their people of water too.

  • The NWO is cutting off the food supplies. They want people to die in the coming collapse.

  • reality

    u need a reality check!

reality is that we have water for all, the problem with the delta is that DELTA CITIES dump 1 billion gallons of partially treated water on the delta, water that is killing fish and harm humans.

water with soap, medicine, shit, and many other pollutants.

water that even people are drinking.

stop lying and get your facts straight

  • #2 our salmon go extinct?Oh yes I know about the toxic waste in the delta- that is a small part of the problem! The main issue is the amount of water they are sellING/TAKING OUT of the Sac/Joaquin Rivers! Also the barriers like dams, wich keep salmon and others from their spawning grounds! The water temp, the high phosphorus fertilizer/run-off causing algea blooms=starving water of oxygen, overfishing, etc.

  • #3

are all bigger issues. Your just 1 of these dumbasses who grabs the first thing he hears and runs with it! So go stick your head back in the sand moron.Or go learn the facts!

  • #1 Hey JOSE-

Lying?First off,FUK YOU! 2nd,I KNOW the issue front to back I have listened to both sides.I have watched both

arguments on the floor of congress.Wich is more than most of the dumbasses I see on this page and for that matter you tube etc..Thank the powers that be you all never become JUDGES, or the system will be more fubared than it already is! Have any of you one sided pricks even bothered to check out the othersides argument?Do any of you malinformed neanderthals give a shit if

  • More wickedness: I overheard some landowners talking: some of the farmers have signed years-long contracts for the rights to the water from their "deep wells". No one can pump except the owners of the contract-- not even the landowners can draw water. The contracts are for hundreds of thousands of dollars, millions of $.

  • The "green" clubs are now owned by satanists. They push satanic agendas. This includes a major push to starve the world happening NOW. Monsanto destroyed the corn crop in Africa. The corn grew cobs only- no kernels.

  • You know if you were to catch some minnows and throw them in a pond to breed, you can create jobs by making minnow breeders that can sale the fish to the fishermen as bait. If you do this more people can have jobs the fish industry could possibly be saved and our fucking farmers can grow our food again. Would this not make a good solution. If this doesn't work then we can just kill the little fuckers and eat them to stay alive. Turn the fucking water back on.

  • notice

THIS IS NOT ABOUT A MINNOW IT'S ABOUT RUNNING OUT FARMERS SO THAT CORPORATE FARMS CAN STEAL THE LAND FOR PENNIES.

    THIS IS THE LIBERAL WAY.

  • TIME TO BLOCK ROADS AND KICK SOME ASS ...

WE OWN THIS COUNTRY AND MAKE IT WORK NOT THE SCUM IN WASHINGTON OR SAN FRANCISCO.

We feed and pay those clowns wages.

WE NEED JOBS HERE NOT IN CHINA AND SPEND MONEY IN THE INDUSTRIES THAT MAKE OUR COUNTRY WORK NO THE WALL STREET/BANK THIEVES or the trash in IRAQ/AFGHANISTAN

When are you people going to wake up and fight ? they are ruining our country and nobody cares!

  • I agree whole heartedly. As the saying goes " If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything." We as a people have lost that which made this country great, self sacrifice. As long as it is not them, they will continue to look the other way. I still have hope tho and some are begining to wake up. May God help us. peace to you.

  • Scum in san francisco? or Washington? Whatever mr blanket statement.

  • The Liberal way? whatta fkn maro---oon! First off -you just described a texbook gop/greedy republickin, power/moneygrab- so how the fuk is that liberal- you ass! Maybe your just another jackass consevative projectionist bastard. Afterall the disease of projecting has been running rampant in the gop supporters and thier ILK! Take your dumbass STOCKHOLM DISEASE, AND CRAWL BACK ON THE SHORT BUS. Until you learn some facts!

  • Millions of people effected for a 2 inch fish?

  • Leftist politicians and environmental extremists have a common goal that is to eliminate rural living and move all of our population to urban areas. We will inhabit these urban ghettos and live on the government dole. They will provide for and maintain their supposed socialist utopia that will be nothing more than a real version of The Matrix.

  • powerharp

there is one more element you didn't mention......after the farmers are bankrupt

corporate farms WILL MOVE IN AND BUY THAT VALUABLE FOR PEANUTS! they are waiting in the wings....all they had to do was... BRIBE A FEDERAL JUDGE.

  • Leftist? WTF. So much ignorance hear it's frightening!!

  • This is caused by Progressive-Fascism!

Where MORE Central Planning and MORE Federal Tyranny is CHANGE.

  • By the way, the striped bass is NATIVE to the california coast. I second the idea of intentionally destroying the delta smelt. Its sad, but we really have no option. Who's gonna help us? The news? The government? We are merely insects and sheep to them.

  • il see you right wingers on the streets

  • I know how to take care of this problem if all else fails to work. Someone should get some cash together and not a use a credit card, and go out and buy a bunch of Pirahna Fish and release them into the water supply, and let them eat those damn little fish once and for all. Either that or someone should put something in the water supply that will not harm the crops or the people but, will kill those little bastards.

  • The Fish is just an excuse !

    Man and Nature coexist !

Man is a part of Nature !

  • Monsanto BASTARDS !!!

  • CODEX ALIMENTARIUS IN EFFECT

  • has nothing to do with fish take a closer look not what the Gov shows you but what you see if you have a place to view it

  • Obamanations plan is at work in front of your eyes

  • dumb liberals

  • Delta smelt are preyed upon by larger fish, especially striped bass and largemouth bass which are invasive species in the Sacramento Delta.

Maybe Fish and Game department should poison the invasive species and give that Delta smelt a chance to survive instead of causing so much mayhem in the Central Valley, California and America's food supply.

  • Remember when Obama said change ! And america was behind him with signs that said change . Well this was part of the change he was talking about. Along with removing all guns from american citizens hands , giving the federal reserve dictator power , Forming his on youth military squad , His carbon tax which will tax you for your car exhaust fumes , and raise your gas and electric bills . Obama makes Hitler look like little orphan Annie

  • That was a GREAT interview. When did it air?

I have a sinking feeling that the valley has already lost at least one, maybe two, seasons worth of growth. People will see what that means when they check out at the grocery store!

Don't kill our most productive land for the sake of a minnow.

Take some minnows, throw 'em in a pond. Grow as many as you want. Hell, build 'em a F-ing amusement park with water-slides and sh*t., but don't take the water away from this vital part of our economy!

  • This is sound proof that the fucking leftists & the fucking environmentalists want to basically kill off most of the human race. These fucking morons are cannibalizing themselves.

We're going to see more of this. Especailly with the current FUCKHEAD president & FUCKHEADS in the house.

  • take a swandive into a woodchipper you silly cunt, kill off the human race, what are you smokin,so fuckheads in the house includes the fuckhead republicans right?it must be horrible to be you, sounds like you hate everything, mostly yourself..thats sad.

  • "take a swandive into a woodchipper you silly cunt..."

That explains it all. Good luck to you, sir. I hope you won't screm too lous when I swing the sword & chop your head off.

  • o my my,your a wordsmith, screm?lous?hahahaha, you must off been thought english by your slow friend george bush.

  • Amen

  • i live in firebaugh...

  • Thanks to the FREAKS at PETA for this!!! A 2 inch fish is stopping farmers from doing thier jobs and have stopped food from getting to our dinner tables!!!!!!!

    THANKS PETA.........you bunch of FREAKS!!!!!!!

  • You've got to be fuckin' kidding me. A man made drought in the summer? Kids, the game is over. I'm not ready to spend $21 on Romaine lettuce.

  • Game not over it's the beginning of the world Gov failure and their fallen empires!

They are depleting their abilities to stay out of the spot light, they are swimming in their own fraudulent failures >:D

Expect intense uprising!! Wal-Mart's probably being raided!!

    bye bye NWO XD

    T.C.O.D.

  • WOW !!! I am surprised we have so many enemies in the federal government.

  • nice. but Salinas Valley is more profitable per capita than the polluted central valley.

  • Comment removed

  • You mean "are" more

Produce companies from Salinas have been farming 2 decades in the Fresno Valley bro..try and have and sound intellegent

  • not sure if you're replying to me. if so, you are not intelligent (not "intellegent"). and I was using a singular proper noun, "Salinas Valley," hence the use of "is" instead of your incorrect wanna-be correction "are." I just think you are trying to lambaste people who disagree with you.

funny thing is, I do agree with you: People > fish.

    so get off my back

  • besides, i said "per capita." While I'm sure the Central Valley is the richest in the world, I was referring to per capita. prove me wrong with a good reference.

  • I was actually agreeing with ya. You can look it up in the Fresno County Ag report 2008 as in total ag-production revenue $5.6 billion vs Monterey county 2008 $3.6 billiion @236k acreage( this may include crop rotations, 2-3 different crops in the same field.)

Comparisons aren't good comparisons because of the differences in climate one valley to the other and land prices as in rent. Fresno also includes all ag production where SV only shows row crops values.

  • got it! thanks for the facts. cheers!

  • a couple of FISH > a few million Humans ?

  • JULY 1

Another feel good rallie when we need a protest from closing freeways to shut the state down.

ex-FRESNO mayor ALAN AUTRY said it best!

    DEMOCRATS ARE DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.

once again the rallie organizers want to reason and work with this terrorists?

    give me a break.

they need to be put on trial and sent to GITMO.

while these idiots keep talking, people have no jobs and children are hungry or living of food banks.

OBAMA: oppression is here not in IRAN.

U and your party have created it.

  • Just something to think about. The collapse of the fishing industry in California has cost California $1.4 billion while the collapse of the farming industry has cost California $830 million.

  • THE COLAPSE OF THE FISHING INDUSTRY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WATER FOR FARMS.

problems with fish in the delta are because delta cities dump 300 million gallons of sewer water daily on it. that would be the only area you could even claim could be impacted by the farm water.

they call that water treated !

    tell that to the fish?

unfortunattelly even the water people drink in los angeles comes from the same SEWER, maybe that could even explain a few things if not illnesses.

  • It does have something to do with the water for farms. Smelt, salmon, and other sensitive fish in the river will surely die if too much water is pumped through to meet farming needs.

  • So fish are more important than humans??? This is just how ignorant some people are....

  • I never said that. Where did you come up with that? I said the fishing industry was more profitable than the farming industry. So maybe we should keep the fish alive. I never said we should sacrifice ourselves for the fish. What the hell do you have to say to that?

  • I think you're same useful idiot that thinks fish have more rights than say someone trying to earn a living. Again, you demostrate you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about nor do you understand the areas needs. Your messiah and his ilk have attempted to shut off water to farmers and workers to rich/fertile soils that feed millions. This was never a fed issue but a state issue.

  • So what about the farmers plants? The plants need water to live. Don't the plants have the right to live as well? So are you going to have the same opinion when you don't have running water to shower, flush your toilet and wash your clothes? Are you a vegan? Do you eat meat? I am just curious.

u r another idiot that doesn't know what u talking about! do u work for Pelosi? the water is pumped from the delta after it leaves the river.

if the scum in washington had a brain we could have enough water for every need.

the bigger problem is getting a pipeline out to the ocean so delta cities stop dumping 1 billion gallons of sewage water in the delta.

    ammonia,estrogen,antibiotics..etc.

this is what kills fish and is even bad for people.we eat those fish and drink that water.

  • I know where the water is pumped from. Salmon and smelt go to the ocean and then return to the river to spawn. So they do pass through the delta. And yes water levels do drop in the river when water is pumped through. And how is there enough water for everyone? If there was we wouldn't have a crisis now would we? And if we put a pipeline out to the ocean, the sewage would still make its way back to the shore and into the delta. And how would we pay for that pipeline? More taxes!

    Get the hell out

  • hamp313.

    more whining and bs.

smelt returns to the river to spawn?

water is pumped after it leaves the river, how does it lower the water level in the river?

we have 90% plus of water, with good management there would be water for all.

and sewer can't come back to the delta, maybe some on to the SF bay, but it would be more diluted and safer than what goes there now.

the delta cities are the polluters! they should pay for the pipeline. not steal water to flush they're toilets out to sea!

  • Smelt do return to the river to spawn. That's a fact. I don't understand the "90% plus of water." If we had that than we would've have declared yet another drought.

  • How many people are feed by both scenrios and which is covers max populas.

    Come on Hamp master

  • It seems to me that you are very closed minded and partial and you only value your own opinion. It is impossible for anyone to discuss anything with you.

  • Were are Congressmen Cardoza and Costa?

  • CARDOZA AND COSTA ARE BUSY DOING NOTHING.

THE BASTARDS VOTED FOR THE WATER GRAB, NOW THEY PLAY DAMAGE CONTROL.

Costa is busy showing up for meetings and lying and CARDOZA visiting is boyfriends!?!

  • Finally, some Hispanic voters realize that BO is not the person for the job.

  • Paul has a farm on the west side of Fresno county godbless him for fighting the good fight

  • Join the fight because you and your interests will be next. The risk of this affecting the value of every home and the earning potential of every business in the valley is real. Liberalism loves other peoples money. Thanks temojr from Texas!

  • This video is quite one-sided and contains misleading statements. The original video in the intro is worse & failed to interview the state or federal pump operators. For example, Mendota may have 41% unemployment; however it started the drought with over 30% unemployment. The salmon fishing industry has lost many jobs along the California and Oregon coasts; it fails to address that fact. Also, salmon is a primary food source of orcas. Moreover, it does not disclose that Rodriguez owns a farm.

  • geodanny.

    you're a liar .

food source for orcas my ass and who cares people are first not the orcas.

what impact has the valley water on the oregon salmon jack ass?

the water can flow down river as long as they pump it back,is the sea level going low?

this water belongs to the farmers and the problem with the salmon is not the lack of water but the discharge of 300 million gallons of sewer water to the delta DAILY by the surrounding cities.

    ANOTHER DEMOCRAT LIAR.

  • I have tried to post sources but am not able to post URLs. Look to whaleresearch (.) com for information about orcas. Resident Orca whales ... eat primarily fish, catching salmon, schooled herring or even the occasional rockfish." During the winter months, however, the whales spend

a increasing amounts of their time in the outer coastal

waters; and, in recent years some ... have been observed as far south as Monterey, Calif." There are other sources such as NOAA Fisheries reports.

  • Oregon's coastal salmon fishery was shut down due to the crash in Sacramento River salmon. That is the official reason given by the Pacific Fishery Management Council. According to the Oregonian and other news sources, 60-80% of salmon along the Oregon coast comes from the Sac.

  • Although it sounds improbable, many farmers in the San Joaquin Valley are getting their full allocations. It just happens that Westlands, the biggest and wealthiest irrigation district (900 farmers averaging 1000 acres), has no water rights and is being hung out to dry by terms in its contracts. California has different water rights priorities and the water projects have different tiers of contracts. Open "Water Allocations (Historical)" for info about CVP distributions:

  • "Moreover, it does not disclose that Rodriguez owns a farm. "

Really? Watch it again. 1:40 Rodriguez states his family farm is affected.

  • Hearing it again, I see your point. I had interpreted that as a more general comment. However, Rodriguez's farm is in Yuma, AZ according to a May 17 article in the local paper there - yumasun(.)com If so, his statement is a bit disingenuous in that he asserts he farms in the San Joaquin when he does not. That is, unless he really does farm in both locations.
