@tapuzronko From what I understand, somehow the game is only supported by some versions of MAME. I use the MAME UI FX 0.140 to play. You can look it up on Google, it should be pretty easy to find.

why does virtua racing have such unrealistic physics? f1 cars do not drift like in virtua racing. it should have been more accurate. sega rally is the most realistic sega racing game. anyway sakura chao plays this.

Sega was definitely the best gaming company of all time, what happened to them seriously sucks and i think that if they made some kind of new system, that wasn't bull shit (motion control or high tech realistic games) they would make crazy money from all of the fans who know that a lot of the stuff out there today is crap compared to games like this (and I'm not even a fan of racing games)

Virtua Racing is a classic! It was the most amazing racing game in arcades until Daytona USA came out. I still held a soft spot for the flat polygon graphics though. This game sparked my love for 3D racing games. It was almost everything that I wished Hard Drivin' would have been (Hard Drivin' had awesome stunt courses, but VR was so much better looking and much more fluid).

Model 1/2 era was a great time to be a teenager in an arcade with 20 bucks of his parents' money.

yeah this version is SO much better than the Genesis and 32x version. I have those 2. The 32 version is quite a bit better than the genesis version and it has 2 extra tracks, and 2 extra cars.

I found that the sound is emulated Perfectly on newer MAME Versions since MAME 0.119. in Older MAME Versions under this version, the sound has a problem.

I love Sega games, but I HATE when you beat or come in 1st in a Sega game, and they STILL tell you, "GAME OVER"... JESUS! What I gotta do man? LOL... Oh, the podium celebration in Waverace 64 is eerily similar to this. Even the character models look to be made up of about the same number of polygons.

great game. i always thought the coolest part was the top-down view of the circuit showing your position relative to the other cars. i always thought it was ultra-revolutionary how it moved as you progressed/steered.

MAME is a program that allows you to play the original roms from the arcade on your PC. It's the closest you can get to the real thing because it uses the original roms. For something like this game, you'll need a pretty powerful PC to run it smoothly. But for the older games like Pacman and Space Invaders, any old computer will do. I use MAME v118 which has over 5000 emulated arcade games.

When on my PS2 I mainy use V.R. view 3, skyline/chase view on all the tracks, but on the Acropolis course, i use V.R. view 3 alot, and use V.R. view 4 after the second checkpoint, and before entering the tight hairpin

The new vr romset should have a binary file named VR-TGP.BIN inside the package. This romset uses a patched version of MB86233 used on Model 2.

The graphics on the Saturn version is better then 32X but the 32X has the better gameplay as Sega developed it, the Saturn version was developed by Time Warner Interactive. It's a shame the Saturn version is at such low res as the Saturn emuatlor (SSF 007 prototype R8) almost runs it 100% and this is with using the original CD in drive.
