  • Love this game... Super dimensional fortress macross on the Saturn, grab an st key or get a japan system :-)

  • lol la musique mdr

  • i am so off to 1channel to watch this

  • Que aburrida la musica

  • well i can't blame harmony gold because American needs things done its version... but I think a macross timeline (not robotech) would make a better live action movie

  • @doop408 I cant agreed with that. americans need to adapt themselves the same way they demand foreign people who visit the US.Every thing that gets Americanize from movies to games end up sucking thought i have to admit from time to time they manage to do things right for example what james cameron plans to do with battle angel alita. You can also check for yourself how many people around the world likes more the original version with subs rather than dubs.

  • @doop408 Also i agreed with you on the live action movie that would be epic.

  • . .

  • what movie is this from, it looks like the prequal to Macross: Do you remember Love.

  • @AdmPrestonCole IT'S NOT A MOVIE. IT'S FROM THE sEGA sATURN mACROSS SHOOTER GAME, ITS THE OPENING... MAN I MISS MY sATURN SCREW WHOEVER BROKE INTO MY STORAGE AND RIPPED ME OFF.. BUT IT'LL, DO THEM NO GOOD ..LOL ALL MY GAMES WERE IMPORTS AND I HAVE THE sT KEY...LOL

  • I like both Robotech and Macross

I first watched the entire Robotech series, before watching Macross , and I can say I love both of themm the same <3

  • @ascendead1

the original voice actor for hikaru ichijo commited suicide a few years ago. a couple of the others have simply died of old age. we're talking a nearly 30 year old movie.

  • this clip is not from a movie. it's from a ps2 game only released in japan based on macross. you had a choice in the game - play the story as told in the series, or play through as it was told in the movie. the carrier being destroyed in teh beginning of this clip is the daedelus - both daedelus and prometheus are destroyed in DYRL, but are part of the macross in the series.

this is the opening for the game when you choose the DYRL playthrough

for the life of me i cnat remember game name

  • robotech is a piece of junk

  • i go to this movie clip for comfort some times

  • This is sort of a prequel to Macross '84 rather than the series. Notice the whole squadron gets off the carrier before Prometheous is destroyed, and armor 1 and 10 are already attached to SDF 1 as per the movie. Hey but what is this song?

  • The reason Harmony Gold did what they did was because the networks wanted more episodes than the Macross Saga,so they added the 2 other seasons for more episodes. If it wasnt for Carl Macek, anime would have been years behind comming to the states. It was a hit! and introduced anime on a grand scale! Some of us didn't grow up on Pokemon.Us old skoolers had Tosho Daimos,Battleship Yamato,Gatchaman, and all the anime from the 70s and 80s not kids crap!

  • If it hadnt been for CARL MACEK. THe HUGE following, MACROSS GOT, BEEECAUUUSE OF U.S. exposure, would NOT BE ANYWHERE NEAR WHAT IT IS TODAY. Robotech, was a fantastic americanized version of Macross, the sound score, and bringing it to the states, a novel, animation conept, not only taking ONE series, but THREEE, and combining them with a SUPERB story line?...your all some what off beat.

  • @MrNomad123 I agree bro! You speak the truth these kids need a slice of humble pie! Some of us witnessed the birth of anime!

  • Yeah people dog Robotech, but what other Anime was in the states at that time like none.Hell there was no word Anime back in the day it was called Japanimation.I had a friend from China that would get us bootleg VHS Gundam from the late 70s and Fist of the North Star. Some anime I watched had no subs.I watched it because it was badass! So It was cool to rush home to watch Robotech. It was better than shit like Voltron.Right before I joined the Marines 1990 I got to see Gundam 0083.That was the shit!

  • @Uncrazamatic quite right, I concur. Robotech, all hail Robotech. Amen.

  • I remember hearing that working on the deck of a carrier is the most dangerous job in the Navy... and then the carrier gets destroyed in the video, whoa O.O

  • Wow! Can't believe someone snagged this little clip!. It's from the Macross Video Game from Play Station. Yes, the first one. The music is different for some reason. BTW, for those who don't seem to know, Macross is the orginal Japanese Version where as Robotech is the American Version. Robotech is based more off the OAV's as opposed to the movie "Macross: Love Do You Remember", but the basic premise remained the same.

  • Whats the title. I missed this one.

  • プロメテウス真っ二つに呆然...。

  • What Carl Macek did was genius....what he did, he did in 3 months and a few dollars...NO ONE in the world could have pulled off what he did...Macross had a WAY higher budget AND MUCH MORE time...

  • @jackhammer10101 Carl Macek is an untalented motherfucker so lazy and stupid that he has to steal from other people works.

  • @RebelAdmiral

    REALLY?!!

is that your opinion for EVERY remake of rock songs and classical music with Beethoven for 100 years, along with remakes of movies, plays and T.V. shows and diva repostering, such as lady gaga from madonna from marilyn monroe?

what about copying of governmental, economic and social policies? are you DEEP enough to understand

countries COPYING american tech for 2 centuries?...

  • It is possible to like two things that are similar equally.

  • @superpescado

    ABSOLUTELY !!

  • I thank Harmony Gold for making me aware that Macross existed back when i was a child. They combined 3 shows, which I enjoyed watcging at a young age, but now I can go back and enjoy Macross in it's original state, but still enjoy it in it's Robotech state. They all exist in equal measure, and have a valid place in my life.

  • @Gunslinger48 I totally agree. I love Macross, but Carl Macek, and by extension, Harmony Gold is one of the main reasons anime became so popular in the west. I've got equal love for both. I've got incredibly fond memories of Roy and Rick from my childhood, so much that I became a pilot. (Battle Of The Planets (Gatchaman) helped with that too!) But, there's always something special and honest about the original.

  • @sevensblack I envy you now sooooo much for that....i wanted to become pilot just to be like Rick as a kid, just so i could knock off some hansome chick off her feet pretty much like Rick or Max:-)They both got what they wanted in the end, right?

  • @dernhelmrs

my brother wanted to a bio-maintenance engineer because of Lunk...then he ended up getting his masters equivalent of Electrical Engineering(Laser Physics) at UCLA

  • @jackhammer10101 lucky him... i never suckseeded in what i wanted...

  • @dernhelmrs

i became a film maker. i went to LACC college for cinema so i could do the live action ROBOTECH (and star wars episode II/III after Lucas ruined Ep I)...but Maguire got to it first...however if it does not green light soon....i still have time to send my resume to be director....but i still have an idea for a ROBOTECH live action TV show for back-up !!!!

  • @sevensblack Right on man! I remember wanting to be a pilot cause of this show. Glad that someone is living the dream.

  • I have to agree with fryboyIII.

Without Robotech I may have never watched Macross.

However, I am in agreement with LordMetzen that Harmony Gold did "destroy" Macross by by altering the series and turning it into part one of a trilogy with two other terrible series.

Macross in its original form far surpasses the Robotech version, and is tough to equal by any other series out there.

  • @Lashingwind I understand and I too think that Harmony Gold wasn't being respective to the 3 series and keeping them seperate individuals as it was meant to be, but Harmony Gold wanted 70+ episodes so that put Carl Macek on the tight rope. Atleast he took the time to somehow connect them, but I believe he was able to pull it off without hurting Macross, Southern cross, and Mospeada's respective storylines. I think that we who are fans of Robotech found out that all 3 series were not meant ...

  • @fryboylll (continue) to cross over kind of killed the magic. I dont believe Robotech and Harmony Gold destroyed Macross, but instead made it even more popular! Robotech was being seen and retranslated in many other countries, like Britain France, ect. ect. All I'm saying is in my opinion that Robotech has helped make Macross to international fandom. I accept Robotech for what it was, a great cartoon that will stay with me forever, plus I can enjoy the original Macross!

  • こんなシーンあったっけ?

  • Hi, People! Tell me please, from where this video? I mean - game or movie...? And sorry my bad English

  • Harmony Gold sucks donkey dicks nowadays, but being nearly 30 years old, I gotta thank them for Robotech. With out them, I would have never known about Robotech/Macross. I despise most modern anime (it's geared towards pervy virgins who have never had/never will have contact with women), but Macross will and forever hold a special place in my nerd-heart. I wish they'd drop the licence and allow new Macross stuff to flow into the North American/Eurpean marketplace :(

  • Essentially, both are a love triangle romance fought amidst the backdrop of a war where humans fight an unknowable alien enemy that threatens to destroy the whole of human civilization. Music offers a system of communication and a means to understanding among all competitive parties.

Macross F plot and theme is very close to the original's plot and theme. F's cast is an ensemble of Expy SDF Macross characters that go a similar story with a higher animation budget.

  • MACROSS franchise continuity rocks!!!!!!!

  • si esos aviones los hicieran en la vida real me cae que me hago piloto de la fuerza area

  • penske13, if you love carl macek that bad why not fuck him ? Oh no you can't because that piece of shit is dead lol . ^^

  • @JamesBond77 you again? why don't you go hump somebody elses leg fucko? you need to change yer name to james bondo. your shit is outdated fool.

  • One of the worst things about Harmony Gold getting its slimy hands on Macross and the other shows was the horrible music. The music blew in so many levels and made me want to watch the original shows in Japanese even more. Anything with the name Ulpio Minnucci was complete puke. Sorry.

  • The thing is Harmony Gold shoved us a poor representation of the Macross story, depriving us from its continuity and versions.

I saw Robotech all the time as a kid, but now, having watched Macross in its purest form...can't stand what they did.

Macross can stand on its own, it doesn't need help from those other 2 crappy series, Macross DYRL? movie its a proof of that, it is still relevant to this day and looks incredibly detailed, more so than some of the latest "state of the art" movies....

  • @LordMetzen. Exactly, they had no business blending Macross with those other two series. Originally Harmony Gold had planned a pure English Language version of Macross, I even got a copy of the first three episodes on VHS. It was titled "Macross", and had the original Japanese character names and story. However it already had a horrible opening Ulpio Minnucci opening theme song, called "Macross". It is still embarrassing to hear. I sold the tape to a lady at a convention for $100.

  • @LordMetzen who did they deprive man? it sounds to me like you are all really ungrateful for what you have. macek took FAILING japanamation ....brought it here and cut it into some of the most successful stories ever told. just a buch of sour grapes here.

  • @penske13 Yep, yep ... what ya' say is oh so true. Born in '75, so I lived through the anime explosion of the late 80's. It was ushered in by the introduction of Robotech to the US in '84 (at least where I'm from in N.Y.), that had EVERYBODY dying for more. You tell 'em.

  • @daTruChosen you know you're right. look at this idiot james bondo. this asswipe finds me on every single anime vid i post on and tries OH SO HARD to discredit anybody who doesn't see it his(i assume) way. he's an asshole who thinks that macek and harmony gold defiled something. had it not been for carl and his vision we in the west wouldn't even know what macross or mospeada or super dimensional calvary is. i know it kills him that macross doesn't hols a candle to robotech. fuck em.

  • @penske13 I don't know how you feel about today's anime, but I don't care for most of it myself. The 90s was the height of it for me; the storylines were ultra dark and complex, the action was crazy, and the sagas were epic. X/1999 is my FAVORITE anime of all. I loved Battle Angel Alita, Ninja Scroll (first one ONLY), Devilman (1 & 2), Doomed Megalopolis, Record of Lodoss War, Fist of the North Star, Curse of Yoma, Venus Wars, Berserk, etc.; even the Fatal Fury motion picture was good. You?

  • @daTruChosen you have named some heella good stuff there. here's a few more. dirty pair and the ova's....gall force....rhea gall force...iczer 1....roadbuster....maddox 001 (metalskin panic)......robot carnival....pat labour.....etc, etc. i could name 20 more that blow the doors off of ANYTHING out since then.

  • @penske13 Dirty Pair? Yo, that joint was hot. It's crazy that even the so-called "girly" anime like Dirty Pair, Sol Bianca, Devil Hunter Yohko and others that the hardcore cat might've laughed if they knew we were watching them, are ALL way better than ANYTHING out now. And Patlabor? ... Son, that was my shit back in '89. Just the mention of that now has me thinking about titles I didn't even mention, like Silent Mobius, Wicked City, Demon City Shinjuku, Genocyber, MD Geist and the Guyver!!!

  • @daTruChosen you know your shit jack!! i am OFFICIALLY impressed. loved sol bianca yea man....these suckas out here now have no idea what japanamation is. did you check the pat labour ova's or the series or both? hot shit right there. GRIPHON!! PLEASE. pffft. it was over when you saw the bitch comin. GUNDAM....chars' counter attack is still one of my favorites. GIRLY?! it'll smoke the shit out now...hands down. these fools wouldn't know good japanimation if it kicked their asses ...TWICE!!

  • @penske13 I loved Gundam (couldn't help but compare the mecha battles to Robotech, you know?). Regrettably didn't check the OVAs for Patlabor ... just the movie, although it's been 20 yrs since I saw Patlabor, so I may have actually caught them. I gotta say though, I was lovin the fuck outa Hajime No Ippo, too; this cat I work with put me on to it, and Berserk, and I was hooked on it! My chick was on some "what the fuck is that? Can you even understand them?" Only watchn w/the subtitles, bro!

  • @penske13 Now, they're on that kiddie kid, mainstream friendly bullshit. I can't complain though, because it's a testiment to the success of Japanimation in the 90s that there'd be a mainstream market for it now. I just don't fuck with it anymore. I miss it, though ... brings back great memories of 1994, buggin' out watching Urotsukidoji with the fellows in my dorm room; all Saturday afternoon coin-op mall Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat tournaments, buying my anime at SunCoast video (sigh).

  • @daTruChosen i like very little of the garbage out today. cause it's just that. junk. i can get down with some cowboy beebop.....big o...maybe a couple more. that's it. i am VERY unimpressed with all of the cg shit. some of it rocks but the vast majority of licks anus.for someone to suggest to me that macross 7 or ilk of that nature stacks up to plastic little ....gunbuster.....devil hunter yohko or 3times 3 eyes makes me understand just how fucked these cats today are. good calls on your list.

  • @penske13 HAHAHA !!! You can't even spell baka. ^^

  • @LordMetzen Robotech introduced me to anime but now that I have seen Macross, I hate Harmony Gold and what they did to that story. Harmony Gold removed everything Japanese and in turn ruined the music, story and characters. Mari Iijima is a superior Minmei and Hikaru isn't anywhere near as whinny as Rick. Now, HG's lawsuits are preventing new derived works (Zero, Frontier, the Mechwarrior reboot) and my hatred makes me wish Macker's fate on the whole of that company.

  • @LordMetzen I'm getting tired of peeps who disses Robotech, without Robotech and other anime imported to America, you wouldn't have known at all about Macross. Carl Macek had to combine all 3 series to one continuity story line or Harmony Gold would not fund the project to import this fantastic anime to American shores. Robotech has become an 80's pop culture cartoon like Transformers and Thundercats!

  • @LordMetzen Originally Harmony Gold did it because they wheren't allowed to translate Macross by itself because it was too short. They needed the other two to meet the quota, by now it's just a cash cow to them.

  • @LordMetzen The only thing that hg did to Macross is cut out the sexual elements that were deemed inappropriate for American children, and give it much better music. The storyline up till the very end is the exact same. Also they needed the other 2 to meet syndication standards or you would have never heard of macross. And as far as sequels goes, ive followed every series since (except for 7 thats just garbage) Robotech has a far more complete story universe. Had it been animated in continuity

  • @ikaruichijoe Macross and Robotech could technically be looked at as two alternate realities playing out. In Robotech the SDF2 is destroyed while in Macross it isn't. Macross has a full back-story that has to be pieced together though watching the series (parts of 7 actually help tie the Macross universe together... surprisingly), while Robotech has more exposure in that instance. Both actually have a compelling plot and a rather complete universe. Its down to personal tastes after that.

  • @ikaruichijoe

HG bastardized protoculture into some sort of crazy flower derived power source too. LOL As for Robotech having a far more complete story universe... you missed the point of Macross if you never watched 7 in its entirety.

  • @LordMetzen So True., I just finished watching the Japanese Macross series. And it showed how much of a hollow imitation that Harmony golds version was. Particularly what they did to Minmey. I loved robotech as a kid but everytime minmey started to sign "to be in love" it made me cringe. Harmony gold put no effort into the soundtrack compared to Macross. And nearly ruined a good cartoon.

  • @LordMetzen Because of this comment i decided to watch both Robotech and Original. In the Macross Saga, which is the only part that i like in both version, felt to me the robotech version seemed more alive and had better background music and dialog while the original was at many times stale and embarrassing to watch.

  • @LordMetzen I AGREE IN 1986 havoing seen the Macross Oboite imasuka? do you remember love? I felt robbed of an experience.. Karl macek... i'm glad you're no longer amongst us... And Harmony Gold.. lol i'm glad though i got a chance once to raid their basement! HA!

  • 2:02 dude is like ....... O SHIT!

  • Macross and Robotech are two different shows. Robotech is a different story that used some of Macross's story. There should be no reason both could not be released at the same time. Does Harmony Gold think we cannot tell the difference? Do they think we are stupid? It just does not make any sense.

  • what is it exactly? is there a movia callen "Macross 20th Anniversary"? because i didn't find it on imdb. please answer me, i really would like to watch this movie! i mean, after all it is MACROSS :)

  • Yo which series should I watch after watching Super Dimensional Fortress Macross?

  • @SnIkLeeT its better to begin from the TV series MACROSS......then watch the MACROSS movie. do you remmeber love.....macross pluss.... macross zero then last macross frontier YOU CAN SKIP robotech....

  • @2submit Is there a Macross plus in english dubbed?

  • @SnIkLeeT I dont Know..but better enlgish SUBs well for me any way

  • @SnIkLeeT There is a dub. The only place i have been able to find it is the Netflix (1st half only) and iTunes. The dub is right on, the voices are good (kinda fit with the characters not perfect but not terrible). I went onto Veoh and downloaded the subbed versions.

  • @SnIkLeeT This is the chronological order of the Macross series:

Macross Zero (Released in 2002, set one year before the original Macross.) #

SDF Macross (The original 1982 release.) #

Macross II (Released in 1991. Considered non-canon. Set 8 years after Macross.)

Macross Plus (Released in 1994. Set 30 years after Macross.) #

Macross 7 (Released in 1994. Set 30 years after Macross.)*

Macross Frointer (Released in 2008.) #

    ---

    #: Very Good

*: Caution this one is not like the others.

  • @AeSaar What's so different about Macross 7? I watched the first two episodes of Plus and didn't like it. Watched 5 minutes of Macross II.

    Frontier fucking owns. nuf said

  • @SnIkLeeT You have to watch it to understand. The music is good, but the story is very whimsical. The protagonist is a pacifist that fights enemies with music, and while it sounds somewhat reminiscent of the Macross theme, most fans agree that it silly-feeling compared with the rest.

Still, like G Gundum Macross 7 has a niche group of fans that love that particular style of storytelling.

The beginning of Plus is slow but ends with a bang. Frontier IMO is the best and surpasses the original.

  • @AeSaar Aw how can you say Frontier surpasses the original? I mean it's awesome, but the original is an anime classic.

  • @SnIkLeeT I love both, but here are a few reasons I like Frontier more.

First, May'n and Megumi Nakajima are superior singers. Mari Iijima is good but they are better. I find the songs more creative and enjoyable, and that might be due to the presance of Yoko Kanno as composer.

    TBC

  • @SnIkLeeT So, with Macross F you get the same basic story as SDF Macross with better singers, better music composition, and a much higher animation budget. Had Macross TV received the same production value as its movie DYRL, I might consider it superior, but getting the better music and animations with a similar plot loaded with shout-out directed at the original has won me completely over.

On a side note, DYRL still looks fantastic and is more than equal to the new False Dive Frointer movie.

  • @AeSaar There's a Macross Frontier movie?

  • @SnIkLeeT Macross Frontier The Movie: The False Diva is part one of a two part set of Frontier films. Like Plus, Zero and Frontier TV there was no U.S. release due to ongoing legal disputes between Big West, Tatsunoko, and Harmony Gold. Fortunately, a HD fansub of the movie is floating around The Pirate Bay, though it boasts a large 12.5 GB sized file. I can say from personal experience that the download is well worth it. The movie is spectacular and you should take the chance to see it.

  • At least everyone knows that Harmony Gold are scum bags.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheTruthIsGonnaHurt untrue. if it weren't for harmony gold none of you ungrateful assholes and purists would know ANYTHING about japanamation or anime. get yer head outta yer ass bud. r.i.p. carl macek. the king of protoculture.

  • @TheTruthIsGonnaHurt agree, but they did well with the music - and it introduced ppl to anime stuff. Sucks without internet in the 80s xD (but I'd still go there if I could ;D)

  • @TheTruthIsGonnaHurt Yeah, no. Having an opinion is fine; saying that "everyone" knows this or that is moronic.

  • @TheTruthIsGonnaHurt

    But not ROBOTECH ;-)

  • What The Fuck???? O.O

  • hello macross fans. Toho Studios has confirmed the release date for SDF Macross to 2012. Since Robotech the movie is on hold, Robotech 87, shadow rising may get released next year. it was rumored that ken watanabe was going to play captain global. you got to go to japan to see the movie. HG wont release it in the west.

  • @bebito1a A live actuion macross in japan?

  • @bebito1a ....Macross fans? and youre talking about robotech? *facepalm*

  • i remember this clip from my Playstation 1 game... hahaha

  • This is simply summing up why Japanesse stuff is great.

  • hello macross fans. as we speak, hikaru, misa, minmay and the macross gang is currently being filmed in japan. following the december release of space battleship yamato, SDF Macross has a release date for 2012. but you got to go to japan to see the movie. HG won't let it come stateside.

  • @bebito1a

What do you mean "SDF Macross". A movie ?

What is this video from btw.

    Thanks a lot

  • Song is nice. Anyway, it is taken from a Japanese Game by Dreamsoft called North Wind. Can be downloaded from the official website.

  • this is not...

"Macross: Do you remeber the love?"

  • Boy I can't wait for the live action Robotech movie.

  • Where is this video from? The uniforms are from Macross: Do you remember Love, but there have been some other variant stories for Macross, thought it might be from one of them. perhaps Macross Zero or some such. Appreciate the feedback.

  • Me gusta esta tecnologia..aporta paz y tranquilidad.bye.

  • actually this is part of a game!

  • There seems to be a lot of moaning about Robotech.

While I don't disagree that Macross is far superior, if it weren't for Harmony Gold and their efforts, Macross and anime in general would be still virtually unknown in the US. They created Robotech because of rubbish American television syndication standards that dictated that you needed 65 episodes. Macross had 36. So they cobbled it with two other series.

Without Robotech, we'd have had only crappy Transformers and GI Joe back in the 80s.

  • @jigen08 how very true...

  • Wait a second the video is from PSX Macross Do You Remember Love and I can tell it for sure because I have it.

  • 昔セガサターンとプレステで出てたシューティングゲーム『マクロス・愛おぼえていますか』のムービーパートやね。映像が秀逸なので観れる造りがグーです。

    でもこの歌は誰かしらん?w

  • This video is good, I can't stop watching it.

  • I so liked this cartoon in the childhood. Damn it, I've never thought to see it again.

  • What is this clip from? Macross Flashback 2012? I gotta know!!!

  • the harmonizing from 1:05 to 1:07 just gives me the chills...

  • @JamesBond77: Thanks, you rock ;)!

  • I've never seen the original Macross but from what I've been able to read about it, I think the ending of Macross was better and it made more sense than Robotech's did. Now if there was only a way I could see the original......

  • @BoomBoomStockings1 Problem solved dude. For all things Macross : macrosshare(DOT)com

  • @BoomBoomStockings1:

check ebay. check rapidshare. check anywhere. Macross is so easy to come by.

  • has anyone watched the english version of SDF Macross its actually really good and the voice acting is a LOT better.

and if people still dont know the differences between Super Dimensional Fortress Macross and Robotech The Macross Saga: the MAJOR difference between the two is that the Protoculture in SDF is an ancient humanoid race that created both zentradi and humans whereas in robotech the Protoculture is just a plant or something like that(an energy source)

  • The piloted transformer is very heavily based on F-14 Tomcat. All its missing is horizontal stabilizers/elevators lol oh well thrust vectoring takes care of that :D

  • @Spetsnazovets

It's partially based on F-111 as well. Note that the ordinance pylons swivel as the wings pivot.

  • @daina009 Yeah but thats that case on every variable geometry wing equipped aircraft that carries weapons under the moving console of the wing.

  • @Spetsnazovets

I had forgotten, the Russians built quite a few variable geometry fighters, didn't they.

    And of course the Tornado.

  • @daina009 Bell X-5 was first, Then Grumman Jaguar, F/FB-111, Su-24, MiG-23/27, F-14, Tornado, Tu-160, B-1, Tu-22M1/2/3

  • @Spetsnazovets

    Awesome! You know your jets!

  • @daina009 I love my planes

  • @Spetsnazovets dont forget that Messerschmidt one designed with VG wings only they had to be moved and fixed in place on the ground, no hydraulics to change them in mid air

  • meh.. i enjoyed the macross story more than the robotech one.. and i watched both when they aired in japan and in america respectively. plus if you want to see the real storyline, just follow the macross one.

  • sweet music

  • esta muy buieno , ojala hiciera la serie otra vez en esa calidad...esta buena pero hay un error -sea macross o robotech- algo debio pasar y no paso , quien se da cuenta ?

  • yeah man i loved robotech

  • WRONG !!! The animation is from a MACROSS game based on MACROSS : Do You Remeber Love? MACROSS has nothing to do with robocrap. roboass is a crappy ripoff of 3 anime TV series including the original Macross aka Super Dimension Fortress Macross : "Robotech is a story adapted with edited content and revised dialogue from the animation of three different mecha anime series: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA."

  • i know that chill out...but robotech is a choped up version of macross.

  • I don't approve of trolling other people nor put downs on a show (no matter how warped from its native story) that had been made before YOU MR 007__77. under stand not all of us take timed speed reading classes or Foreign language Japaneses so refrain from insulting others with an absolutists mind track see it with a strange light or as an alternate Macross LIKE reality.

  • I'm sorry, mabye in the US robotech might be more popular. But that is in part the work of Harmony Gold basically blocking Macross in the US. Robotech is not very popular in the rest of the world where you can find Robotech and Macross. I do like both though. Robotech is for a younger age group than Macross, just sayin.

  • dude macross was the first one to be made before Robotech, Robotech was after when Harmony started using macross and copied it as they started making there own story, macross made more series than robocrap

  • @ROBOTECHTEHBEST RObotech sucks, that's all.

  • @009FGH its ok. hes only a troll trying to be annoying.

  • Alucinante... superior a Robotech...

  • great video ^_^

  • djindio555, esta en lo correcto es el intro del juego de macross ps1, de hecho hay en este juego otros videos exclusivos de macross

  • Este tema me trae recuerdos.

  • where does this clip comes from??? another remake of macross???

  • @ric0925

    Macross: Do you Remember Love.

Its the movie verision of the original Macross.

  • Wrong there, it's from Macross 20th anniversary.

  • @da3daluz

Where Can I find the complete version?

  • it's from the japanese 1997 Sega Saturn or 1999 PlayStation 1 game.

  • Its the opening from one of the macross games I think for the original playstation.

  • Robotech got me hooked on japanimation in the 80's...damn them!!!.....lol

  • Okay, for the umpteenth time. Robotech and Macross actually are one int he same. Carl Macek went to japan and took 3 different anime series and edited them together to make them generational. Basically because there were not enough episodes for a weekly series, Macross, Southern Cross, and Mosopedia were seperate. Okay, got it? Everyone up to speed?

  • I'm sorry but, it doesn't work that way. Just because one series was used to make another doesn't make them one in the same. Robotech has its own story that was created to tie those three series together, with its expanded universe following that story. Macross on the other hand has its own universe consisting of Flashback2012, Plus, 7, and Frontier, with Zero serving as a prequel to the whole thing.

  • I agree with you there, but if u put the robotech macross saga in a vaccum and keep it seprate fromthe other stuff that was added, Its still Macross.

  • It would only be Macross in name only as even though the Macross Saga was the least altered of the 3 series making up Robotech, it was still altered in order to tie it in better with the re-written stories for Southern Cross and Mospaeda.

  • Yeah, but still I wish it was just Macross. I rather be int he Macross universe then the robotech one.

  • actually i agree with this one. Macross is the original one, Robotech is actually the American spinoff frm Macross. not to undermine the American animation, but can us animators at that time came up wiz a fighter that not can only change into a humanoid form, but also has a form of both humanoid and fighter? come on... Macross is the original

  • You misunderstand. They took the original macross episodes and re-named it Robotech, giving the japanese characters american names. Yet Minmei remained Minmei. They added the Southern Cross and Mosepedia series afterward to make the show generational merely because macross didnt have enough episodes for a daily series. Although I agree with you. I prefer macross to the americanized robotech
