You DO realize that the Flames play in the toughest division in the NHL, the NW division, and that they beat the #1, #2, AND #3 teams in the West that year, right (if I'm not mistaken)?
luongo is just looking amazing this season...but i think nashville and detroit will be the finalist, with maybe minesota being the black horse in the western conference....while in the east there is no question buffalo has it in the bag, i love atlanta's explosive players like hossa, kovalchuk, and tkachuk but i don't think they have what it takes....nashville vs buffalo would be a great final
I was thinking the exact.same.thing then. But by the start of the playoffs I knew it would be different. First was when Nashville was set up against San Jose, I knew the Sharks would win that series. I knew the inexperienced Thrashers were done, and I knew Ottawa was the best team in the league (I hate Ottawa urrgh :P) but I still had my hopes for Buffalo but they didn't have the intensity from the year before. Oh wells, I think Buffalo-Ottawa in the East Finals again next year. :)
well... Flames lost in '04 to the Lightning in 7, Oilers lost in '06 to the Hurricanes in 7, my guess for this year is the Canucks losing this year to some other city that there shouldn't even be a team in in 7.

2004 Playoffs were SO excellent; even after the Leafs were knocked out by the Flyers, we had the three best playoff series in the last two rounds. The day before Game 1 of the finals, I told some people at work that I was picking Tampa to win the finals in seven & they didn't believe me. They were cheering for the Flames to win. Well, guess who was smiling the day after Game 7;-) I'll always remember those '04 playoffs as being some of the best hockey I ever watched:-)
I live in calgary, I remember them playoffs against calgary and tampa bay, we should have won it in game 6 when the tampa goalie kicked it out when it was like 1 or 2 inches over the line which was a goal, but never figured out until a couple days after Tampa won. :(
pretty good video, it needed some more flyers highlights though, they had one of the best series i've seen in a while against tampa in the conference finals.
