  • hard to show respect towards police. but that is fredericton!

  • they yell stop resisting so they can beat them more... these cops today they are all insane...

  • This guy was a douche that is being arrested.

The cops told them to put his hands behind his back, he refused. That's called resisting arrest. The cops used necessary force. Get over it.

Innocent or not, listen to the cops. You're stupid if you don't. Whenever I get stopped by the police, I show them respect regardless if it's a inspection check or I was caught speeding.

  • @survivorhfx You should be beat by cops too.

  • Pretty brutal way to get the innocent to obey!! That's right, I said INNOCENT!

  • I can see the recruitment campaign now:

"Are you a dangerously-incompetent thug with a buzz cut & roid-rage problems, but not the intelligence to make into the the RCMP? Too lazy and out-of-shape for the armed forces? Well then YOU TOO can become a Fredericton police officer!"

  • i really hope that police officer gets what he deserves

  • Why "resist" if you are innocent. Christ, it's the cops that allow us to function...if they made a mistake, relax, and let it be sorted out in an adult way...resisting is silly and not adult-like, IMO

  • Good on the cops. I support them 100%. The guy was resisting and needed to be controlled.

  • That video sucks. I wanted to see the cops beating the shit out of him. The video angles are all wrong!

  • :55 LOL

  • i from here and i like gyros

  • The guy you seen on this video is my sister boyfriend his name is Luc,and he got couples bones broken and 2 black eye he have been charged by the cops about an issue that happen a week ago at this bar and the bouncer blame this on him and the cops came and they have like jump on him randomly, and he will bring these cops at a trials!

  • i live there

  • @nikojuggling sameeeeee

  • you people kill me. In canada, police have power over all their NON lethal arsenal to obtain a suspect. They did NOTHING wrong, and you gotta be kidding me. They do not target military guys, Many police i know where in the Canadian forces, and police treat them like brothers.

  • the scary thing is he wasn't resisting arrest at all... even if he was they shouldn't be that brutal, they broke his back, and ripped is rotator cuff....

  • Regardless....the Freddy Police fit right in here with all the city councillors...all a big joke.....

  • Regardless....the Freddy Police fit right in here with all the city councillors...all a big joke.....

  • Ahhh the general publics uneducated comments. Maybe the police should have just let him do what ever the hell he wanted, instead of tryinig to restore order. Then again maybe it would take an asshole like this to punch one of you guys to change your thought process of what the police do and how they do it. Don't be so quick to judge!!!

  • Uneducated eh?.... well , if the officer that is knee dropping the suspect is soooo right , then explain why he got a 7 week suspension , AND , is currently uder investigation for another incident where he used extremely un-necessary force , AND is being charged for this incident in the high courts????? It seems you are the uneducated one here dumbass. Do your homework before making a comment. Maybe you are one of the officers in this video for all I know.

  • @blackriverbrew

because the public makes a big deal about it thats why

  • @olhoin knee to the back is no way to restore order. i would understand force if an officer was on his own in a bad situation. I respect the police but theres bound to be a bad apple in any walk of life.

  • 1.Presence (using the effect of the presence of an authority figure on a subject)

    2.Verbalization (commanding a subject)

3.Empty hand control (using empty hands to search, relieve weapons, immobilize, or otherwise control a subject)

4.Intermediate weapons (using non-lethal chemical, electronic or impact weapons on a subject)

5.Deadly Force (using any force likely to cause permanent injury or death to a subject)

  • Did someone yell for a girl named Glenna? because that girl in the video looks like a girl i know by that name.

  • Go Police

  • He is not resisting. The police in Fredericton are not as smart as you hope they would be.

  • do u know what resisting is? It was clear thats what he was doing

  • Lying on the ground in the fetal position. You retard.

  • i dont see the value in police repeatedly kneeing someone in the back

  • That guy WAS resisting arrest. The more peaceful you go (whether guilty or not), the more peaceful you will be released. They say "Do not resist arrest" for a reason...

  • He was resisting arrest. Whether he was guilty or not, don't resist arrest. It is the police officers job to find out the likely story. You have two options: get arrested peacefully, questioned and released, or resist arrest and get charged.

  • Because our courts are perfect right? And nobody ever gets wrongly punished.

  • true, but its still not right

  • Another fine display of Fredericton's Cowboys !

  • Looks to me like the guy was resisting and got what he deserved

  • Continue..When I got up I ran to hide in the living room behind a friend to help me and they grabbed me, searched me and threatened to throw me in jail just for talking back. The day after I was so bruised up. My wrists, legs, arms, my fingers even & and my back especially. I probably shouldn't have talked back but they handled that situation in a way that they shouldn't have. I was just a kid.

  • Continue..She got in my face and asked If I had called her a bitch and I said no I called my friend one. She then asked if I wanted to go to jail and I asked for what? She said for arguing. I said go ahead and the next thing I know the male and female cop throw me on my back and yes I resisted I ran as far as the hallway and they dragged me on my back down the stairway and let me slide a few stairs down.

  • I too was assaulted about 9 years ago when I was 16 at a friends party by a male and female officer here in Fredericton. I mumbled to my friend that the female officer was being a bitch and she over heard me. She then asked what I just said and I said nothing. She said no you said something and I kept denying what I had said until she said that I infact had called her a bitch. --->

  • you are a loser , mouthing off at the cops i betcha your some proud of that hows the welfare checks jen

  • police brutality he was not resisting i can say it

  • What ??? Resisting arrest? The withness tells he was toss the the ground and beaten... What would you do... Give your hands or protect the way you can...

The guy said he asked why he was being arrested... The constable tells he was a hit and runner that was spotted 1 week before which he replied : I just arrived in this town you are doing a mistake... The other constable in the back toss him to the ground and he's being punched and trusted to get the cuff on??? Is that the proper way?

  • Resist arrest pretty much anywhere, doesn't matter if it's here in Freddy or in New York City, and it's the policeman's job to subdue enough to get the cuffs on.

Like the guy who hit the poor girl in the wheelchair - you go from "perhaps" being into trouble to making your situation ten times worse.

In this particular case, he's quite clearly giving the cops a rough time. Big mistake.

  • This was also the wrong person arrested, they never detained and asked for ID they just piled on and kicked the crap out of him? And i suppose lifting him up backwards by the arms tearing his rotator cuff was warrented also?? Spine damage and the ambulance medic makes a medical determination that hes faking???

  • his noob ...

  • and...???

  • not even connecting? are you watching the same video everyone else its? Those knees where completely unnecessary.

  • The Fredericton Police are not a joke you loser!

  • the poor guy couldnt even stand up anymore :o wtf ever. I go to this bar alot, haha

  • muhahaha perfect, i would love to see more of this happening. Then maybe people would learn not to act like retards just because they have a little booze in them...

  • i go to this club lol

  • cause i carry around a video camera when i go to the bars, you get arrested for that shit here dude

  • All though RCMP there ok, MP's There ok, Fredericton city police there a pathetic joke. They do more harm then good.

  • oh and another thing chucky it was the wrong guy they went after and the cops broke his back they pushed three disks and severed his spinal cord all because they "thought" it was another guy that was kicked out earlier that night, there's so many crooked cops in the city of Fredericton you have know idea

  • i was a witness and now there all suspended without pay which is only a slap on the wrist as far as i'm concerned they should be court marshaled and fired and jail time for what they've done they guy didn't do anything he was DND out having a good time

  • Some witness, try listening to the news, there is one suspended with pay. Guy was clearly resisting, all he had to do was stay calm and wait for the matter to be cleared up. As a member of the DND he should have enough discipline to do as he's told, when they are out drinking they are not representing Canada.

  • what kind of word is retardingness? seriously if you weren't there to witness what happened in total don't comment go to the court cases and actually sit in on them! and the cops are jealous man if they were jealous why the hell would they be cops and not in the army in all reality dude i'm sure they chose their career paths on an educated decision. stop the b.s. comments like that. and what free stuff?

  • looks to me that the guy deserved it. they should of beat him more. u guys dont even know what he did. so dont judge the cops. wierdos

  • You know what i think that the police force is just jealous .. because the army have more suuport from the country .. but u know what the Canadian Army deserve more our support and our respect.. because they are fighting for our country ...the only thing with the ciops.. is that they can get free stuff.. Police works is just a bunch of croak.. my opinion Army Men are more what is real..and aslo they have my respect and my support, way a go guys..

  • Should all cops and fire departments be subjected to random drug tests... Hell yes. For Roids and narcotics. Piss, blood and hair samples sent to 3 seperate labs. suspension with pay is a VACATION. The cheif - if this is the military case - said it was originally an unidentified complaint which would be investigated. Not so much an unidentified case now.

If you were an MP and did this - your in Club Ed.

RCMP and Municipal cops accountable - track history.... check it.

  • Police work is Dangerous ???, It is no more dangerous than a flagman at a construction site, Or a school crossing guard for that matter. They just get a lot more media coverage if one of them gets killed. I bet if you researched it you will find more construction workers have been killed on the job in canada then cops,

And if you really believe cops don't like using force, then why do they brag about it to each other.

  • Where do all you idiot's come from, what does this have to do with construction workers? When was the last time one was assaulted or shot at?

  • I am sorry poll1001. I hear that saying all the time. "Police work is dangerous".. Police work is less dangerous than a flagman at a construction site, Do some research and see how many cops in canada are killed a year in the LINE OF DUTY and compare that to how many construction workers are killed.

Police work is no more dangerous then any other job. It just gets more media coverage. And trust me Cops do enjoy using force, That is why they brag about it to their cop Buddies.

  • This man is clearly resisting. He has to accept responsibility for his injuries. If you verbally or physically resist or are uncooperative with a police officers efforts to uphold the law you are guilty. The math is simple and this man is a disgrace to our Canadian military. He should be ashamed of himself.

  • You know what .. u need glasses .. because he was not .. i reapeat he was not resisting..... sorry but no POLICE OFFICER as the right to used to much force .. scpecilly when he gives him injuries.. im sorry .. but the police officer are more guilty then anything else.. u know what .. you have a problem .. cause i think POlice are scum bags... and that they dont dersever respect.. because most of them cause ppl injuries... you need to go back to school or even get ur eyes check

  • Does anyone think its kind of ironic that "I gotta feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas is playing the background?

  • They all deserve to lose their jobs!! This is Fredericton, not L.A. people!!! Talk about overkill! This is such a disgrace to our city and anyone who thinks that this treatment is okay is sick too. I mean the guy is drunk and clearly NOT resisting arrest. Does it really take 3-5 cops to bring down 1 drunk man??? Not to mention all the wannabe cops or fat ass bouncers hanging around here enjoying all the action? Pleeeeeeze is right! Glad people get to see the cowards in action!!

  • Broken vertebrae.....pleeeeeeze! A little afraid of the trip to Afghanistan are you? I'd say this soldier is a bit of a pansy. Take your lumps and shut up! I think mr lifebeginsat190 might be a bit of a cop hater. Been arrested have you, boy?

  • You're an idiot and a response worth typing will not be wasted on you.

  • its not because if he as been arrested,, .. i have never been arrested and i hate those cops.. because they dont know how to do their jobs right.. the only thing they are good at is tim horton .. no wonder that place is always protected.. so they dont want to loose their donut.. so what do u think their so fat from it.. and plzzzz!!!! that as nothing to do with teh guy going to afghanistan.. !! omg!!! i rather suport the troop than the cops.. .. by the way the troops are more worth

  • Lets see.... drunk asshole told to leave a private buisness. He did not. Police show up and tell him to leave. He did not. Took 4 officers to cuff him. He was repeatidy to stop resisting. He did not. Any other county besides Canada this drunk would have had his arm broken. He should consider himself lucky... and DUMB.

  • Whats repeatidy?

  • The sad part is nothing will come out of this. Cops do this kind of shit everyday, When i was in the Navy in Halifax we were treated the same way. Cops target military guys because they know that because we have to go to work the next day we will just pay the fines. And they like to beat on us because they know we are not able to fight back. Otherwise we get charged twice. One for striking a peace officer and once for conduct unbecoming. Out of uniform these cops are pussies.

  • Let an MP use this much force and he or she will be in club ED if I'm not correct. The horsemen and some - not all municipal forces seem to cover this shit over.

  • Frederictons finest, Rick Riley was suspended. He also assaulted my niece Laura Sacobie, it was reported to police and nothing was done about it.

  • The police don't enjoy using force, but sometimes they have to for their own safety. Let's not forget just how dangerous police work really is! None of this would have been necessary had Mr. Begin just followed the police's commands. Why could he not just obey the police's commands? The fact that 4 officers were required to subdue Mr. Begin tells us something about just how cooperative he was being. If only he had just cooperated with police, no force would have been required to subdue him.

  • you know what .. police works.. is just a bunch of retardingness.. they dont protect.. they just like to make ppl suffer

  • Another shameful incident in Fredericton's Police Dept. Too many people have too much power and power corrupts !

  • So the question is where those knees to the back necessairy to subdue Mr. Begin? It appears that they were not, and to me they just look like some clown trying to get a few licks in before the fight's done so he can brag to his other cop buddies and tell war stories at the cop bar.The FPS is an unprofessional force and we should bring n the RCMP. Small town police forces are almost always unprofessional, that is why RCMP officers are never stationed in the city they're from if it can be avoided.

  • Fredericton must submit officers and fire fighters to random drug tests for roids and other narcotics. Hair, holds substances longer than blood and the piss test... and send to 3 independant labs for control... charge and remove those testing +ve.

  • Look, whether he is or is not the guy they were looking for is absolutely irrelevent.....just like Rodney King was actually a criminal does not make his beating "right or "justified" neither does it matter if Mr. Begin is or is not the person they were looking for. There is only one issue here, and that is: Was excessive force used on a citizen by the police? IMO the answer to that is, yes.

Cops are trained to use the least amount of force necessairy to subdue a suspect. ---->

  • I am sick to my stomach watching this

  • pussy

  • This guy was denied entry to sweetwaters under the claim that he caused trouble b4...he argued about it and they called the cops and recieved cracked vertebre......He has proven that it wasn't him on the date and the bouncer was wrong...Hope he gets a million dollars for his lawsuit...The Fredericton Police are asshole cowards that like to smash out drunks and then charge them with assault...

  • All one of them got is... suspended with pay, with pay this to me is wrong the way I see it he is getting a sweet vacation.

  • Oh you mean VACATION!

take pay away, if cleared pay them retro, if not charge them with assualt causing bodily harm in this case.

Unlike Judge Dreed they are not the law nor are they above the law. This makes me asshamed to say I carry a badge...

  • By the way that's their call sign...to yell "stop resisting" before they use excessive force or a beat down...that way the person in question has less of a case in court.

  • However the video shows little or no resistance and only an inability of the civi to protect his person against 3 or more cops. and yes it is a scripted statement proven to work in most cases if witnesses feel cops were unjustified...

  • This guy was denied entry to sweetwaters under the claim that he caused trouble b4...he argued about it not being him and they called the cops and recieved cracked vertebre......He has proven that it wasn't him on the date and the bouncer was wrong...Hope he gets a million dollars for his lawsuit...The Fredericton Police are asshole cowards that like to smash out drunks and then charge them with assault...

  • police are the scum of the earth

  • Fredericton Police have ALWAYS been a bunch of dickless assholes. Take Gary Forward. Not sure if he is still in the force but back in the early 1990's, this guy walked around thinking he owned the place. He used to threaten everyone even when he knew they were'nt doing anything wrong.

Oh, and I won't mention the little "drives" the Fredericton Police used to do out in the old UNB woodlot, taking guys out there and beating them with phonebooks. Too bad nothing was ever done.

  • and most people wonder why noone trusts the police here they disscrace the police force, mind the spelling but still its just sad

  • thxs a bunch that guy lives in the same town as me witch it hearst,ON and he will pro use that as proof

  • No one in the city of Fredericton trusts the cops . They are bigger crooks then the crooks themselves , they pick on the ones they think they wont fight back or they think are scared of them . I hope everyone of those cops are severely punished or loose their jobs . The Police think everyone should kiss their butts bcoz they wear a badge ....Well heres a news flash 4 them ..Respect is Earned Not Given .

  • I know. The cops here suck. They're awful. They hate everyone.

  • they where suspended with pay I mean how are they gonna learn their lesson that way they should be out of a job

  • Pi.apres ca les polices se demandes comment ca,....on les traites de chiens sale, pi de trou de cul,,...

  • I see the one cop driving his knee sneaky like with his buddies all around into Mr. Begin's back. He must have little big man syndrome, like a lot of cops do.

  • I am the President and Zone Commander of the local Legion where this soldier who is being beaten is from. He was sheduled to go to Afganistan shortly, and we were to have a special night for him at our Legion along with his bride to be. I am completely appauled at what I see here. Your typical gang of thugs, except these ones are in police uniforms. There is no reason to do what they did other than they are very weak men with a big ego complex.

  • You can't trust any cop, not one, they must be ex RCMP, they get in front of a bar with a bunch of women watching and tada, time to flex the ole badge and impress the ladies. Fredericton police are almost as not usefull as the RCMP.

  • I am curious to know what the officers defense will be. The video is very clear and obvious.

Let me just stand up right now and give the officers involved a big round of applause. Congratulations you have made complete asses of yourself. I am disgusted and feel sorry for the other members of the force who are able to exert a little self control.

Wow...you really make me feel safe and proud!

  • Very clear that the idiot was resisting arrest, and that the knee's being thrown were not even connecting, this video will help the officer in question.

  • The man has a couple broken vertebrae, he is almost unconscious (if he isn't totally) and only one officer, the one who broke the victim's vertebrae to boost his ego, attempts to place him in the car by one arm while 5 other officers stand around manning the situation.

  • Notice how the cops YELLS STOP RESISTING! just in case he was attracating onlookers. This is a definite case of police brutality.and it took 3 to get him in the car with 2 more standing by.

I hope we read about 200 army guys going downtown and put every fredericton cop in the hospital with career ending injuries. . unbelieveable

  • there's another million dollars lawsuit the city of Fredericton can do without,All officers involved should lose their job,There no better then the northside trash we deal with day in and day out...

  • the only difference between street thugs and the police ; the police get paid more !!

  • You can clearly hear

    Cops: STOP RESISTING!

    Mr. Begin: I'm not resisting.

Even if he was resisting, you do not start throwing knees into him to get him to stop, he's already handcuffed and there are dozens of pressure points and holds to subdue someone who is resisting, not to mention the fact that there were four cops and multiple bouncers and only one guy and a handful of spectators.

  • Webster's Dictionary

    Resisting:

1 : to exert oneself so as to counteract or defeat

2 : to withstand the force or effect of

By not laying prone on the ground and placing his hands behind his back he is resisting arrest...there is no question that he is. You cannot even begin to sway me to think that he's trying to roll over and let them do the job.

  • Fredericton police share some common threads with the over sea muslims county, they injure our soldiers!

  • Agreed, it's not cool to beat somone who has clearly done nothing wrong.

  • look at all the viewers!!! WOOT~~~~~~

  • Just like Robert Dziekanski was "resisting' !!! Ho yeah, it hard resisting to protect your self when you getting kneed in the face! Or maybe it's just me misinterpreting the word resisting, maybe it should be called reflexes. In reply to me being naive... if you think he was drunk then why is it not notified in any of the reports? Clearly the police overreacted, before asking question, BANG on ground, typical shoot now ask question later attitude!! What happened to the Serve and Protect?

  • F*$# the police.

  • I feel sorry for the guy that got beat up. I read the story in the paper. All the cops that were there that night should be ashamed of themselves. this goes to show that cops aren't trained well enough to do their job, they should learn how to really handle the situation.

  • You guys better watch the language...no swearing is allowwed in here.....

    :)

  • hmm wheres the swearing?

  • Where is the swearing in this comment?

  • well i'll tell you this that federicton police licks balls because it is not right for anyone top be put through so much suffering as my friend and this is why cops has been given so many bad names it just because of what they do and those ones that got suspended they deserve everything that comes to them just because their dress in blue doesnt give them the right to beat on a soldier who fights for our country by saying he is resistant arrest and he wasnt and he is one of my closest friends

  • he was mistakenly identified by bar staff as a customer who had caused problems two weeks earlier.

  • He didn't resist. They walked him about 15 feet and they forced him on the ground and like he said : "I feel bad because [going to Afghanistan] is part of my job," he said. "Serving my country just like those police - it's part of their job to protect people, not to beat them up." Get your facts before judging someday that might be you!

  • Found on cbc: "Luc Begin, who was in Fredericton celebrating his engagement, has filed a complaint over the incident with the local police and the New Brunswick Police Commission, alleging that he was assaulted. Begin, normally based at CFB Valcartier in Quebec, told CBC News in an interview on Thursday that he is supposed to go to Afghanistan in October 2010. But the infantry officer said he suffered a broken vertebra in his back during the altercation and that could cost him his tour of duty.

  • Only the pieces of **** in society would complain about police brutality here. Scumbags deserve it all the time - this time it happened. Deal with it. Don't resist in future.

I have ZERO sympathy for the scum of our country.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Did you really just refer to a deploying member of the Canadian forces as scum? Who the F*** are you and how do you contribute to our society other then your glorious opinions.

  • police and political figures " TOO OFTEN' think they are above the law... I say if I was the one being knee'd in this video I would want soooo much....

  • Most police brutality videos we see occurs when a suspect is lying face down on the ground. Police should know the difference between an agressive, AND A DEFENSIVE stance!! Lying on the ground INSTINCTcommands you to protect your head with your hands and arms! No one will readily put his hands behing his back while being hit! Thus seemingly resisting arrest! Can't see how someone lying face down represents a menace to officers.Just make sure that no one will hit him and he will comply.

  • Clearly resisting Johnny616666 you truely are naive...no budy drinks before going to the bar at midnight, they sit home and play chess right?

  • Good job COPS!!!!!! Next time he will cooperate. This has happen for a reason and that reason we will not hear or see what he did its very unlikely that the cops decided to jump this guy

  • Fredericton police forde is really well trained and professional. I just feel bad for them that they have to deal with all the leeches on society.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe you should quit your job and become a lawyer! First I personally know the guy and his not violent, second he was trying to get in the bar, that lead's me to think he did not drink. I wonder if they did copy on each other's paper work to get there story strait. They must of been in shape that night because they did not used there taser gun, how surprising!!

  • EVERYONE in fredericton or the maritimes gets their drink on before the bar.. ..Too cheap lol ... oh and btw they dont have tasers there douche bag

  • Comment removed

  • Part 2 One of the officers trying to feel me up and kiss me and I kept telling him to back off! I can still remember that he had red hair and his name was Joe *********

The Fredericton Police Force were corrupt even back then and I am 48 now.

  • Part 1

Don't even get me started on The Fredericton Police Force.

When I was 14 and my sister 16 they offered us a drive in one of their cruisers and we thought it would be interesting so got in.

They drove to Grand Lake area and confiscated liquer and weed from cars and then smoked and drank it with us and laughed about how they do it all the time.

  • Part 1

Don't get me started on The Fredericton Police Force.

When I was 14 years old the police offered my sister and I a drive in one of their cruisers. We thought it would be interesting so got in.

We witnesses them stop cars and confiscate liquer and marijuana and then they would drink it and smoke it with us.

  • so clearly at 14 you were an upstanding citizen right

  • The only thing I can see which may be an issue is that the officer struck a Red zone according to the use of force chart which may not have been t he best choice. I can't see if the guy was rolling around at the time of the strike but that would be the only grounds for a complaint if the person understands the use of force module used by police officers.

  • To further my last comment, the injuries he received could have been prevented with simple compliance of the original orders he was given. Also when an officer deals with someone with military training you have to realize the officer is put at more of a risk as they are taught very similar physical intervention techniques. This man is trained by the military to neutralize enemys and given that he had consumed alcohol he posed much more of a threat. If he respected the demands he would be ok.

  • I am a police officer in quebec orginally from Saint John and the video starts at active resistance on the use of force module from a police officers point of view. The officers are very verbal throughout this part of the intevention and from what I have heard he was issued many verbal commands prior to officers intial contact with him. In a social place like a bar officers need to be quick and effective as they are putting themselves at risk of being outnumbered.

  • When I first watched this video I Thought that clearly the solider was resisting arrest however after watching the very first of the video a couple time i noticed that his hands were in front of his face protecting himself becasue the police officer clearly hit him in the face 0:03 the officer hits him in the face and than his hands go up trying to protect himself I think that this office is completely in the wrong and should have been suspended with no pay

  • fuckin pigs think that just cuz they have a badge that it gives them the right to beat people. this makes me sick to my stomach.i fuckin hate cops.they dont do there jobs right.even a good friend of mine in miramichi was killed cuz the cop was speeding and hit him with his car this shit should not be allowed and im ashamed to say that these are the idiots that are suppose to be keeping our towns safe! must be some easy to become a cop cuz obviously these morons are poorly trained what a disgrace

  • I have lived in Fredericton for 32 years, you fools make it sound like the cops are always beating on people, not sure where you get your facts from, all you have to do is comply and things will get resolved without confrontation, these DND guys should have more discipline than the average civillian buy seems to be least amount of anyone. Your just another cop hating criminal. When was the last time you jumped in the river at night to try to save a life.

  • @Smithdjtbird

Instead of calling people "idiots" or "cop hating criminals", remember not all of us are idiots or cophating criminals. We're law abiding citizens who are disgusted that a gang of cops couldn't manage to take down one guy (whether he 'had it coming' or not) in a non violent fashion.

I know if I broke the law I would probably be arrested, and if I happened to break the law at work I very well could lose my job. Would you not argue that police should be held to the same standard?

  • I know the guy that had been arrested...he was actually inocent...a bouncer had wrongfully identified him as a customer who had caused trouble two weeks prior. The soldier wasen't even in that town whent that incident had occured.

  • i live in frederiction i think the police did a fine job guy shoulda let em put the cuffs on and done as he was instructed im sick of seeing guys from base come in town and get drunk just and pick fights i understand some are messed up from being over seas but booze wont help see a doctor ....

  • Caper has hit it bang on. The Csts are obviously trying to cuff the guy. He has his arms in front and not complytng with their demands. Don't want get hurt while being cuffed comply with the demands. Caper is totally correct about the filming, We see 3:17 of video, what foolishness did the Police put up with before coming to this as a resolution?

  • Maybe he wasn't resisting but he wasn't complying either. The police werew obviouslt trying to get his hands behind his back to be cuffed but he was refusing and and holding them up. If he had complied this would not have happened. What happened prior to the camera being turned on ?

  • Anyone know the names of the Sweetwaters bouncers?

  • I actually know the fiance of the guy who was being " arrested "...he was actually in hospital for a few days with major injuries from this incidence and he had also been punched in the face by a police officer.

I stand behind police when they are doing their job and doing it right, but not when they are abusing their positions.

  • wow.....i don't even know what to say

  • StupidVds lives up to his name, he does not live here but he has an opinion. Thankful for New Brunswickers he doesn't live here !

McD is about as gangster as a snowman.

As for the rest all this video shows is someone being arrested .

the only joke here is you cdnsoldier.

if something happened the first people you would call would be the police.

You are all lucky they can't go on strike then you maybe a little more thankful !

  • Ihave to apologise. I gave you a "thumbs down" in error. I hit reload, your post was first. I wanted to hit up StupidVds with a thumbs down.

  • Bla Bla looks like you just made an account to comment on this video. Judging by the name well it just goes to show who you are. The copper that was driving his knee into that guys back was a coward and maybe shouldnt be a Police Officer if he cant control his anger and with a bit of luck he will be relieved of his badge or maybe a desk job would be good for him.

  • Did you see him actually hit the guy in the back, you people must have some other footage your not sharing, watch the video again and notice that the officer hardly made any contact and the innocent victim did not cry out in pain.

  • Just because I don't live in Ottawa doesn't mean I'm not allowed to have an opinion about Ottawa. Grow a brain asshole. All we are dong is paying the cops protection money from vandals. If they go on strike, the vandals come out in full force. If we give them what they want, the vandalism stops. We're just paying the cops protection money. They are more of a mafia organization than anything else.

  • I gotta feeling that tonight is gonna be a good night... (Black Eyed Peas!)

  • The police force in the province of New Brunswick is one of the most corrupt and brutal force in Canada. Opinion: What NB needs is vigilante justice, a group of strong men who have no problem hunting down and beating the shit out of those "off duty" NB cops who take part in the brutal assault of innocent New Brunswickers. Cops in New Brunswick are not respected, They are feared by the public and a community in fear must rise up against this legalized brutality. Thank christ I don't live there.

  • Well, I *do* live here in NB. Why don't you come down here and form a group of "vigilantes" and hunt down the police. I dare you to back up your words with action. Go ahead, punk.

  • If this was the united states he would have been shot with a taser or they would have deployed mace on him. I don't know if you are watching the video but they use bare handed and striking techniques. I know officers from Val cartier MP and they use more force than this. He is lucky that he was not arrested by MP as he would have been court marshalled whether or not he was arrested wrongfully or not. Please use some deductive reasoning if you know what that is and accept that he was resisting.

  • This is very unprofessional and shameful behaviour on the part of the police. They are behaving like thugs and this is tragic.

Maybe they are not trained or maybe they are enjoying their brutal acts?

They should be disciplined or charged for the crimes depicted in this video.

  • Bare handed techniques were used the entire time. I didn't see intermediate weapons deployed which in my opinion is excellent. His injuries are unfortunate but they are a result of him resisting arrest. The officers may have arrested him wrongfully but they were given the information from a security employed individual who is considered to be a complaintant. The information they were given was reasonable and in a bar situation is not unlikely. Police acted with the information they had.

  • MAybe the police are criminals in disguise XD

  • maybe?... they work for big brother

  • this wouldnt be the first time this stuff happened and u can be sure it wont be the last it happens but theres no one there to video tape it the police assaulted my son for no dam reason they hit him with a flash light several times and told him if they caught him doing anything they were gonna bust his teeth out and break his arms i called the station and talked to the head one but of course he said i dont think the officer did that well i no he did they can get away with beating innocent ppl

  • to put some things out hes not an officer or anything of the sort even tho hes in the army he is like anyother guy out there, he did stupid stuff like any1 else would do when their drunk, yes thier is more to the story than what you can see.

  • I'm surprised didn't pound that jaywalker

What a joke these officers are, "stop resisting arrest!"....."I'm not resisting" is there even an argument that could be made here? Those pigs should be fired, get them out of the city cause there down right embarrassing.

  • He probably said he wasnt drunk too- we should totally believe him

  • Wow look at the HERO at :16 kneeing the soldier in the back while he is down what a coward you are. Big tough guy eh you are a joke. This video just shows how unprofessional the Fredericton City Police is and there should be repercutions if not turn it over to the military.

  • Walk in the police's shoes for just ten minutes at midnight, then post again.

    Putz.

  • Walk in a Soldiers Boots in Afghanistan "DWGarvin" and dont post again

  • I guess it would be better than being hit by the taster?

These guys put there lives on the line to keep people safe and they cant play games. There is always more to the story. Im sure if the guy just talked and did what he was told this wouldnt have happned.
