@jammastereric cuz they are something called CIVILIZED (look it up) you don't have to jump up and down like a wild monkey to show that you enjoy something. Plus Japanese wrestling fans have tons of knowledge and respect for pro wrestling that goes far beyond most of you narrow minded American wrestling fans and before you say anything yes I'm an American so i see how you guys act at wrestling shows.
I can understoud his descision I mean he is so talented and in WWE he was made but after the rivalry with Matt Hardy the WWE turned on him and make him a living joke, he lost most of his matches he never get a chance for a title so he quits, the reason why he goes to Japan was first he loves the Wrestling there and he said in an Interview that he thinks in th U.S. there are no differents between WWE, TNA or RoH, because there all have the same management and all there want is Money it´s so said
@pspdude1990 This is late, but yes he is still MVP, and yes he does still have the same gimmick. And the reason why that is the case is because he came up with the "MVP" gimmick himself, has been able to change it up however he likes, and make it work for him. As Japan really does not focus on promos as much as they do wrestling, unlike WWE and TNA does. Japan = Wrestling all and all.
@tonymetgnr He is now allowed to enter Japan and other foreign countries as long as he is willing to undergo background checks to make sure that he has stayed out of trouble.
@Slame333 ROH is one of the best WRESTLING promotions in the world in my opinion. The two world champions in the WWE right now are guys who passed through ROH. :S
mvp's doing so much better in this company IMO this is where he belongs but it is hard to keep up with his matches seeing as they dont show this in the uk and i cant find a weekly uploader yet.
About Toru Yano, if Vince McMahon sign him to WWE he could at least get a push. Most of the Japanese wrestlers like Sho Funaki, Ultimo Dragon, Tajiri, Jimmy Yang, and Yoshi Tatsu were never near main event status. Vince gave Yokozuna the WWF title because of his size and strength, push he was main event star and a monster heel at that time, and it worked out.
@EnterSandman9900 Yokozuna is Samoan, but he was able to portray the Japanese sumo wrestler gimmick in the WWF. Vince wanted to push him into a monster heel and the WWF Championship fit the bill for Yokozuna, unlike the smaller ones like Funaki or Tajiri for various reasons.
@21richkid Actually, I'm sure that WWF recognized Yoko as an islander since Todd Pettingale in a vignette for a KOTR qualifer against Lex Luger mentioned "Many people have felt the Polynesian power of Yokozuna" plus Vince has a fetish for wrestlers over 300 lbs...There are rare exceptions on big talent but most of the time, Vince was interested in giants plus Taka/Funak were made into comic relief eventually.
I know its your opinion man and all for you but otunga sucks perfects kid is carrying that team every time I watch his matches I see nothing good. Maybe he should go to njpw to learn how to wrestle but that's it
If New Japan ever signs David Otunga, he could compete against MVP for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, also have a rivalry with him. The A-Lister is a 2 time WWE Tag Team Champion and he could be the air apparent to The Rock.
If New Japan ever signs David Otunga, he could compete against MVP for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, also have a rivalry with him. The A-Lister is a 2 time WWE Tag Team Champion and he could be the air apparent to The Rock.
Not only that, but he's the first foreigner and black man to be a inaugural champion in Japanese sports history. Bob Sapp is the first and only black man to become the IWGP title and Devon Dudley is the first black man to held the IWGP Tag.
@Slame333 Because he's been a big fan of Japanese wrestling for a long time. I guess since he wanted a change, he might as well have made it a big one.
@DirkMantooth@Slame333 he's wanted to wrestle in Japan forever, and he used WWE as a stepping stone whereas most WWE wrestlers use other promotions to make it to WWE.
@Slame333 because TNA sucks ass and Ring of Honor tends to younger roster and their all like light heavyweights, like none of the guys in ROH are over 238 lbs. MVP is 249/255 easy. He out weighs the entire ROH roster. Back to TNA, TNA sucks! He is not that much of a loser to want to join them. TNA hardly pays their roster. You get like 250 bucks a match, but Hogan, Bischoff, Sting and Flair get paid 12,000 an episode. Also,TNA is dying, too many people run that company
@dreamslayer I also think TNA would taint him too, in a way that he could never recover if he decided to return to WWE. Working Japan or Mexico at least gives him an air of prestige if he decided to return.
@Slame333 In many interviews, he said he always wanted to work in japan, but that he was not able because of his criminal record - he been implicated in a gang and spend 9 years in jail for kidnapings and armed robbery- pretty hard to get a visa when you are a convicted kidnapper, let alone one who converted to Islam. But, look, he been as clean as one could possibly be since 1989, he work hard, never been late to any meetings or show, and he got many letters of recommendations...
@vytalibus Yeah, the guy that brings a weapon to the ring, beats up the referee, takes the ring apart, and is a founding member of the leading heel stable in NJPW is a face against a random gaijin.
MVP used to be a heel since he associated with Kojima. Since Kojima turned face, MVP followed.
The audience is so damn quiet. What do these guys have to do to get them excited? Shoot someone in the nuts or something?
