its quite hard to beat this boss but i managed to beat it with a knight a ninja a white/black wizzard and they were all lvl 55 the strategy is really straightfoward just make your white wizard use healaga each turn and ninja and knight attack while black mage uses haste and temper on both of them then he should use flare for the rest of the battle unleess one of your guys die if it isnt the white mage who died make sure she uses full life on the fallen and keep doing this strategy for winning

What level were your characters. I'm currently facing Shinryu in the PSP version while my characters are only low 50s. Needless to say, my butt's being kicked. xD I deal about 15-20k damage before I'm completely obliterated. Sometimes I get lucky, though, and last longer. His magic attacks do around 400 damage to each of my characters, and his normal attack does like 400-500.
