  • I feel totally inspired to start using my Odd Obsession membership again! Thanks, Charles Edward Cheese Band!

  • This is the worst. Enjoy going out of business.

  • @zombiesatemycereal The local video stores in Austin (I Love Video and Vulcan Video [featured in this clip]) are thriving, so you can suck it.

  • lifeinaustin - I'm not sure I would take "the hate" of a rapping unicorn at face value, but the success of Netflix and Redbox have killed stores like Vulcan in most of the country and seem destined to wipe out that entire industry. These animals obviously prefer the superior selection and experience of ye olde fashioned video store, and want to support their local independent businesses instead of corporations. I agree with them.

  • I think Netflix is awesome. I really don't get this. Blockbuster put all the old rental places out of business, and were then put out of business by nexflix. I really had no problems with Netflix jacking up their prices.

  • @fatdogwiggle I think the point here is that if you have an independent video store that has survived in your community, support it. Obviously that's not an option for everyone because, as you mentioned, most of them have been wiped out.

  • @sickcrazy I can finally actually hear the song. This is the most hipstery shit I've ever heard. White people...

  • @fatdogwiggle Yep. Its just white people who care about their local economies, personal service, better selection, and physical media. Netflix is awesome...when they paid actors to pretend to like Netflix Canada for news cameras when that service started....or when they throttle your service so you receive titles slower than you did when you signed up because you are no longer 'new'...or when they completely devalued the DVD to the point where they wanted to get out of their own business...

  • @Kutulhu How does a local video store offer better selection? I personally dont care about personal service in a video rental service. I have found hundreds of more awesome films using the Netflix sugggestions than I did in over a decade of using a local video rental place. I have never experienced any problems with my nexflix service and I have used them for 4 or 5 years. They are facing financial trouble because of operational costs not the value of DVDs.

  • @fatdogwiggle Netflix only has titles on DVD. And not every title on DVD. They don't have Warner Archive, nor MGM Limited Edition, or any of the fast growing 'manufacture on demand' catalogs. They don't have DVDs from most independent DVD sellers. They don't have imports. They don't have anything that is only available on VHS or laserdisc. Hey, not everybody has a video store in their city. I understand that. But there is no reason to not support both.

  • @Kutulhu Netflix has Angus, War of the Buttons and Wonder Years none of which are available on DVD. It also has tons of hard to find old kungfu movies that I've never found zoned for North America.

  • @fatdogwiggle Angus and War Of The Buttons are on DVD. Wonder Years is not.

  • @Kutulhu Anyone can burn a DVD I just want to see the movie. Netflix is more efficient at offering a wider selection.

  • I like having a Vulcan account, we pick up anime and classic movies. I also like using Netflix to watch TV shows. I've used RedBox to get something for the kids at the last minute. All these are decent services, I don't understand the hate.

  • holy shit so many naked chicks in Winged Migration

  • See you at the rental store, fools!
