Because the media has succeeded in splitting the nation in two. There is no difference between dem or repub. They each agree to act like they care about one issue or the other, then pretty much agree on everything that has to do with funnelling money to corporations. The US is OWNED by big business. CBC radio has talked about the Noth American Currency recently, they want to try a pilot project between Ontario and some of the lower States. I don't think it will work though. As for guns, really, no civilian needs automatic or semiautomatic weapons. Only guns for hunting wildlife that you eat.
