I've been diagnosed with ADHD over and over. My solution? I run. A lot. 3 marathons this year! Calms and focuses my mind. Yoga too. And I feel great! It does, however, take more effort than a trip to the pharmacy. I also tried a natural remedy called addieup but overall the best thing for me so far has been exercise!

I took this for my first time today(big dose) and i feel like shit. When i took it it lasted good for about 4 hours. Now i feel weak and i cant eat. I dont want to get addicted and i need something to make the pain pass
I take Ritalin and the only thing I can say is accurate is I chew gum like there's no tomorrow. If I don't have gum, I grind my teeth. It sucks not even realizing that I'm doing it. :/ I don't like it though I'm going to ask about adderral, with Ritalin I've exploded on people and have snapped for even really small things like my gf not responding fast enough. my parents force me to take this shit. @spunkflunk Talk to your doctor or psych next time you have a Med check up. Tell them how the medicine makes you feel. They'll change it or ween you off of them depending on your choice. No one can force you take meds if you really don't want them.
Don't take ADHD meds if you haven't got ADHD, don't get chemotherapy, unless you have cancer. Consult your doctor. And whatever your doctor prescribe, if the sideeffects are too bad or if the medication doesn't have a positive effect, stop taking it and consult your doctor again. If you don't trust your doctor get a new one.
They are blowing it out of proportion. I have been on the drug for a while and it's not like I'm addicted. I can go for weeks without wanting it and it makes me do awesome in school

There are days where I go without it, and other than my ADHD being a much bigger pain in the ass I don't have any troubles. I still have all my teeth, I'm not jittery, no withdrawals, nothing even remotely related to meth addiction symptoms. I've gone off it for weeks at time and started back up with nothing more than a minor head ache.

@Uhhlaneuh I only took it as perscribed...my mother & school gave it to me...I never had control or access to it...regardless I would never have taken more of it then perscribed...because I HATED taking it..& bi-polar is not a proven illness either...there is no test that states it's real. While I was on it for 9 years I experienced aggression, psychosis, restlessness, delusions, hallucinations, unusual behavior, motor tics, high blood pressure, anxiety, and/ or confusion but instead of being taken off it after being expelled for a psychotic episode caused by the med my dosage was increased & I became dependant on it. People have a right to know that the medication can do this too&you need to know too
@Redrumhydro Have you tried L-Theanine? It is what the japanese use to treat ADD/ ADHD. It is NOT a stimulant, but a supplement. L-Theanine can help calm your anxiety, as well.

@Uhhlaneuh there is no blood test or medically way to prove you have a chemical imbalence. Everything doctors say about your disorder is opinion and they are often times wrong about a lot of people. If you were raised on Ritalin you probably have long term side effects not bipolar and would be better served learning what they are for you and learn to live with them then believe you have a disorder and take meds that hurt the body. This was my story and I greatly improved my life in everyway

Which can sometimes be caused by chemical imbalances, environment etc. This fact is also why mental illness is so difficult to deal with... because it's not a cut and dry bacterial/viral illness, it's something that is described by societal expectations and common conduct.

The history of pharmaceuticals began with a partnership between research scientists and the big pharma companies, whom funded (and still do) the research the scientists did/do. There is obviously some conflict of interest there. But on the other hand you have to take into consideration the fact that we have scientifically proven that chemical imbalances in the brain are linked to mental illness. and some drugs can help rebalance the brain

@J4KEJ0 I passed through a depression. Not functional at all, "burned." Was like U know your body is there, but your mind is in complete darkness. I lost 40 pounds. I went to a psychologist and she helped me to be functional again. 5 visits and a lot of homework and help from my relatives. Putting me back on track. I didn't take 1 pill to during all the process. 1 year in darkness. 5 months to return and take my life back. Tea for my sleeping problems. When pills are really necessary?

From my experience it does well but If someone is make sure they have a license.There are different strains for ADHD that can help you focus and pay attention. Usually a sativa strain. Sativa is more of a clear headed, relaxed, energetic high. What I mean by that is that you are relaxed and you can think but you wont be to tired and unmotivated to do work. Now for Indica. Indica's are for pain and sleep.
This is because obviously cognitive behavioral therapy is not easy to succeed with and it does take it's toll in effort and time (it's not infinite , get over it) and "ADHD" won't be diagnosed if you are just a lazy bum in school with parents who have simmilar expectations (hence certain biases in the demographics used by demagogues to base their lies on or may I say hide their lies in)

Many of these damages are permenant. If you decide to go off your Concerta you should do so slowly and with a doctor's help who's philosophies are anti-medication. If you don't you could end up like me stuck with tics/tourettes &dependance on a drug I did not ask for
I have been taking riddle for 15 and it destroyed my brain, being hyper as a kid is normal and if doctors cant understand that than we are ages away from good health care. everyone is different. i my self personaly abuse adderall (rarely now) i am not sticking up for the drug i dont personally like not eating or sleeping. I just have horrible sleeping habits (my own fault) and when i have to go to work after not sleeping it allows me to focus and get the job done earlier then usual. I take the knock off 35 mg ones and i pop like 4 or 5 at a time. im more active, social, goal drivin. But the no sleeping just makes you crave more the next day.. it never ends

It's called informed consent.. something legally and ethically required before docs give out drugs.. yet the docs are criminals because they just ignore laws and ethical resposibilities. I'll bet alot of these so called ADHD cases are of people who have underlying causes that NEED to be addressed. Medication might be a good short term fix, but its not the answer. Some causes of ADHD symptoms I've come across are; poor diet, lack of good sleep, mercury in vaccines, too much sugar and lack of protein. And a poor diet for a short period of time might not cause too many problems, but what if you eat mostly junk food for years?
ADHD isn't a short-term problem. It's a permanent, neurological disorder. Diet, sleep, and 'vaccines' have no correlation with the etiology of ADHD; you are sorely mistaken and misinformed.
People really need to start looking at alternitives to drugs for behavioral issues with kids. They do nothing but mask the real underlying problem (s) and are really just a temporary fix. my step daughters mom keeps giving her pills for ADHD, but she does not have it. we just got her back from visite with mom and she was up for 2 days, has not eaten has chronic headaches and nosebleeds and i just spent 6 hours in the er, and I turned her in again, but it always seems to happen again. this little girl is only 9!
I believe the motivation behind the phony is money. A child who is diagnosed as ADD or ADHD is classified as "disabled". A disability before age 21 results in perpetual SS Disability benefit checks. If there is a divorce and child support, Federal law requires the father to pay child support to his "disabled" child forever. These are nice streams of income for the mother. He was an excellent student until his 2nd year of college when he starting dropping classes and spiralled out of control. He tried respiratory therapy school and dropped out. He went voluntarily for treatment in Houston at Memorial Herman Park (PaRC) who kicked him out after 8 days of detox and 2 weeks of in patient. 7 days later he died. I am trying to help others.

I've been diagnosed with ADHD over and over. My solution? I run. A lot. 3 marathons this year! Calms and focuses my mind. Yoga too. And I feel great! It does, however, take more effort than a trip to the pharmacy. I also tried a natural remedy called addieup but overall the best thing for me so far has been exercise!

I take Ritalin and the only thing I can say is accurate is I chew gum like there's no tomorrow. If I don't have gum, I grind my teeth. It sucks not even realizing that I'm doing it. :/ I don't like it though I'm going to ask about adderral, with Ritalin I've exploded on people and have snapped for even really small things like my gf not responding fast enough. Don't take ADHD meds if you haven't got ADHD, don't get chemotherapy, unless you have cancer. Consult your doctor. And whatever your doctor prescribe, if the sideeffects are too bad or if the medication doesn't have a positive effect, stop taking it and consult your doctor again. If you don't trust your doctor get a new one.

There are days where I go without it, and other than my ADHD being a much bigger pain in the ass I don't have any troubles. I still have all my teeth, I'm not jittery, no withdrawals, nothing even remotely related to meth addiction symptoms. I've gone off it for weeks at time and started back up with nothing more than a minor head ache.

While I was on it for 9 years I experienced aggression, psychosis, restlessness, delusions, hallucinations, unusual behavior, motor tics, high blood pressure, anxiety, and/ or confusion but instead of being taken off it after being expelled for a psychotic episode caused by the med my dosage was increased & I became dependant on it. People have a right to know that the medication can do this too&you need to know too

@Uhhlaneuh there is no blood test or medically way to prove you have a chemical imbalence. Everything doctors say about your disorder is opinion and they are often times wrong about a lot of people. If you were raised on Ritalin you probably have long term side effects not bipolar and would be better served learning what they are for you and learn to live with them then believe you have a disorder and take meds that hurt the body. This was my story and I greatly improved my life in everyway

The history of pharmaceuticals began with a partnership between research scientists and the big pharma companies, whom funded (and still do) the research the scientists did/do. There is obviously some conflict of interest there. But on the other hand you have to take into consideration the fact that we have scientifically proven that chemical imbalances in the brain are linked to mental illness. and some drugs can help rebalance the brain

@J4KEJ0 I passed through a depression. Not functional at all, "burned." Was like U know your body is there, but your mind is in complete darkness. I lost 40 pounds. I went to a psychologist and she helped me to be functional again. 5 visits and a lot of homework and help from my relatives. Putting me back on track. I didn't take 1 pill to during all the process. 1 year in darkness. 5 months to return and take my life back. Tea for my sleeping problems. When pills are really necessary?

@Uhhlaneuh --- does bipolar exist? yes. do doctors have any idea what the imbalance is (ie can they test for it and say "ah yes, you are bipolar because your brain is making too much of chemical x and not enough of chemical y")? no. based on the same set of symptoms, doctors have given me over a dozen different diagnoses (And you can almost double that if you count the fact that I've been told I definitely do not have almost everything I've been told I do have).

From my experience it does well but If someone is make sure they have a license.There are different strains for ADHD that can help you focus and pay attention. Usually a sativa strain. Sativa is more of a clear headed, relaxed, energetic high. What I mean by that is that you are relaxed and you can think but you wont be to tired and unmotivated to do work. Now for Indica. Indica's are for pain and sleep.

everyone is different. i my self personaly abuse adderall (rarely now) i am not sticking up for the drug i dont personally like not eating or sleeping. I just have horrible sleeping habits (my own fault) and when i have to go to work after not sleeping it allows me to focus and get the job done earlier then usual. I take the knock off 35 mg ones and i pop like 4 or 5 at a time. im more active, social, goal drivin. But the no sleeping just makes you crave more the next day.. it never ends

I'll bet alot of these so called ADHD cases are of people who have underlying causes that NEED to be addressed. Medication might be a good short term fix, but its not the answer. Some causes of ADHD symptoms I've come across are; poor diet, lack of good sleep, mercury in vaccines, too much sugar and lack of protein. And a poor diet for a short period of time might not cause too many problems, but what if you eat mostly junk food for years?

my step daughters mom keeps giving her pills for ADHD, but she does not have it. we just got her back from visite with mom and she was up for 2 days, has not eaten has chronic headaches and nosebleeds and i just spent 6 hours in the er, and I turned her in again, but it always seems to happen again. this little girl is only 9!

If there is a divorce and child support, Federal law requires the father to pay child support to his "disabled" child forever. These are nice streams of income for the mother. The drug companies love it because they profit. Schools love the quiet kids. it's an unholy alliance

@macpduff My 22 yr old son died last Nov 2009 from an overdose of Ritalin (Methylphenidate). He was diagnosed with ADD at age 12. He was an excellent student until his 2nd year of college when he starting dropping classes and spiralled out of control. He tried respiratory therapy school and dropped out. He went voluntarily for treatment in Houston at Memorial Herman Park (PaRC) who kicked him out after 8 days of detox and 2 weeks of in patient. 7 days later he died. I am trying to help others.

@bigmac575 Why do you think his psychiatrist would keep him on this medication for this long and increase his dosage in 2008 These are the experts who have been to 10-12 years of college. I believe the medical community is just starting to learn these stimulants should not be on the market. Canada has discontinued some.

@TheZigZagg I was forced to take it for 9 yrs & I became dependant on it&also deal w/ tics&tourettes from it. I also felt like a freak in school. I felt angry all the time but never knew why but was afraid if I stopped feeling angry I would loose part of myself.I feel like I was fighting for my life&that if I gave into the teachers&curiculum&conformity I would destroy who I was.It's hard to explain but eventually I commited a violent act as a cry for help but was expelled&my dosage was increased

@SkaterKyoto that may be true but whether u like it or not all kinds of drugs are inside our bodies naturally. one example is anabolic steroids which aid in muscle growth and two others are ghb and dmt.
