I think that if he'd said it as a general statement it'd be true. There are too many successful performers that don't have vocal talent, and rely on autotune, and can't write a song, and relay on lyricists, yet get treated like they actually contribute to the world of music. That said, none of those complaints apply to Swift. Like her music or not, she's sincere and legitimate. She is NOT one of these fake artists.

I think that if he'd said it as a general statement it'd be true. There are too many successful performers that don't have vocal talent, and rely on autotune, and can't write a song, and relay on lyricists, yet get treated like they actually contribute to the world of music. That said, none of those complaints apply to Swift. Like her music or not, she's sincere and legitimate. She is NOT one of these fake artists.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I do not agree however, I believe Taylor is a talented young musician. She's always scrutinized for her voice, but don't doubt her singing ability. Her voice is naturally wispy, and often quiet. Getting past the 'image' of her, I see intelligence, composure, and creativity. She's never used technology to create her music, she's been writing since she was a young girl. It's where she shows her vulnerability.
She's not some 'expensive pop robot'.

My 9 year old daughter loves Taylor Swift. I think she's horribly unoriginal in every way... but at least the messages in the songs are clean. I am also a musician, and I have no qualms about critiquing other musicians. And I'm glad there are people like Chris Robinson and I to remind other people that there is better music to listen to than all the regergitated waste that's prevalent these days.

I've met Chris a couple of times and he's horribly blunt. The man has no filter but he's very good natured, I can promise you he doesn't have anything against Taylor Swift personally but he's not going to lie when asked what his thoughts are on her either. People need to stop taking things personally, I'm sure Taylor Swift cares about Chris Robinson as much as he does her, not much at all. Grow up folks, stop making something out of nothing.

Say what you will about Chris, but in general, he's right about all these pop stars. They get coddled by the record companies and basically groomed to "make it", while rock n roll bands usually have to work twice as hard (no pun intended) to get half the respect.

Hmmm, you almost made sense there, but not quite. Perhaps in your skewed, Taylor Swift permeated existence, inane patterns of speech and lack luster teen idols constitute as intelligence, but alas, that does not make you any more understandable to the rest of the Earth's populace.

I know a guy, who used to fill in on Taylors regular guitar player on tour. He described her playing as nothing groundbreaking, but surprisingly capable. She can play. Plus she plays some ukulele and piano as well. Girl beats the shit out of most pop darts these days...Plus her albums are universally acclaimed by the critics.

She is way over rated and one has to wonder whether she would have gotten this much attention if she weren't so pretty. And why was she shut out of the Country Music Awards? Because country music ignores bullshit.

I guess country music still love her. And rightfully so. Girl is mad talented. id have been the first to agree with Chris a while back...have not been a fan of Taylor's music on the radio, but she can hold it down live i saw her on TV during an awards show. Not my genre but i think the girl can sing. she sold a million (or several million?) records in a week. Ive been a long time Black Crowes fan but for the whole run the lead singer has been quite outspoken and if he cant even get along with his band mates and brother i dont expect him to make friends with Taylor Swift

I have always loved Chris Robinson for his honesty both as a person and an artist. I think it is commendable for someone who actually has talent and doesnt fit into a little cookie cutter to voice an honest and completely TRUE opinion. Chris...Love Ya Man!!!
