I agree, the Flyers would have been a higher seed in the playoff if they didn't have all those injuries. But let's not forget the Devils had a lot of injured players too. :)
Losing Gagne and gaining a floater to replace him is a downgrade in my opinion. I THINK the devils look better on paper with Kovy to be honest, but that doesn't mean the outlook is brighter. I should know this as a Devils fan all these years.

It's all about winning the championship. You and I have a different expectations for our teams. The Devils once again won the Atlantic Division last year, 9 times in the last 15 years. The Devils have made the playoff 13 consecutive years and counting. The Devils won the cup 3 times in the past 15 years.
Of course, you don't care because you can't say the same about the Flyers. And I 'm still wondering what makes you think that your team is better than the Devils even NOW.

In my opinion, the Devils are not better than either teams mentioned. The Penguins are the team to beat in the Atlantic Division because since the lockout, they unlike the Devils have had success in the regular season as well as in the playoff MORE THAN JUST ONE SEASON !

i'm 50/50 and i'm neither a flyers or ottowa fan one angle looks like it was all elbow and another angle looked clean but i agree it was a hard hit cause carcillo stopped and volchenkov ran through him and one thing we have to remember about carcillo he's known to throw his fair share of cheap shots.
