Really interesting video. Always wanted to know the backstory of Bane.

As stupid this may sound, I saw Bane first time in the Batman & Robin movie, not in The Animated Series, not in the comics, the stinking Batman & Robin movie.

That movie gave me the idea that Bane isn't that smart, but I was apparently wrong. Reason being, that I was really young when Batman The Animated Series came, and the comics as far as I know were not found in stores here in Finland.

I might be wrong though.

I read on Wiki that Bane used Scandal Savage's blades to kill himself, but can't find any other mention of it on Google. Is Bane really dead or did someone play a joke on Wikipedia?

@DreamerM he didn't want to kill him, because Bane felt that by killing Bruce he would end his suffering and quiet his shame, thus showing some mercy. But Bringing Bruce to ruin and leaving him shameful, humiliated in utter defeat would be perfect so he simply broke him like dead twig. and Left the Great Batman a defeated broken crippled mess

Even when he was on venom, Bane was never anywhere close to being in Juggernaut's league of strength. The venom drug only made him slightly superhuman in the comics (strong enough to punch through a brick wall, but not strong enough to throw cars around, for example).

Read his origin story in the first "Vengeance of Bane" comic. You see him studying a ton of books that he had smuggled into the prison.

Also the "Bane of the Demon" mini series. Ra's Al Ghul gives Bane access to his gigantic library.

see Bane is cool, I just think that he is the perfect ex. of a writer who fell in love with his character. I think he is to smart in the comics personally. Deff to dumb in the movie, I liked TAS adaptation. Smart enough to manipulate but not just automatically know SPOILER who Batman is.

Bane breaks his addiction to venom and comes out of the experience as much more focused and deadly, since he doesn't have a mind full of chemicals anymore. There's an amazing scene of Bane getting himself into solitary at Blackgate Penitentiary, and using meditation and hardcore exercises to rebuild his body and mind to their absolute peak.

That was published in 1995, was a great advancement of his character, yet people STILL think that he uses venom. Why?

Bane was a Great vilian, problem is aftehr Knightfall DC couldn t figure what to do with him, he could not brake Batman again, his appearances on Legacy, and after tend to leave the character undefined , sometimes good , well I think, he should have retired or being Killed so the impact of his original storyline wouldnt be as diminished as now.

seems like if you like bane, you love wrestling. the intro music is Abyss's of tna. one of his 2 finishers is "shock treatment" where he drops his opponent across his shoulders, stressing their spine.he is a masked wrestler, who is like bane in many ways, also at 9:36 the yellow sign says "kane" yet another masked wrestler whe physically dominates, less like bane. but still... wrestling/bane.. love it

EXCELLENT BRO! That was a fantastic synopsis of the character BANE. A character that has stuck with me since childhood when Knightfall came out and transformed my view of Batman and the DC universe forever (of course Superman's death in that same comic era had a major impact too).

If it would be possible to do I'd kill to see Bane in the next Batman film, but Im not sure that they could do it properly in just 2 hrs and going with a character like the Riddle just seems like a much easier choice
