  • Hi Tatoule,

I saw that you installed a thin (2") ceiling initially. Was this soundproofing or did it have anyother reason?

    Cheers

  • @mcbain35 First ceilling is sound proofing, the rest is for the look.

  • Hahahaha primer the walls only to paint them the same color they were. Love it.

  • @MasterUnholyWar It looks like it is the same but it was not. Nice try :)

  • @tatoule Either way, nice job.

  • Ah yes. The bicycle, a key component in any home theatre setup!

I've just got one question, what happens if you ever decide to move?

    Sweet setup though!

  • Dang how long did that take?!

  • maravilloso amigo muy buen trabajo envidiable e insuperablemente espectacular +10

  • superb carpentry work!

  • I like it, but I prefer 3d and games, check out mine

  • Id rather get a TV than go through all that. In fact, I did. check out my video I'm gonna be uploading for my 65" 3D gaming an TV setup. Its not uploaded yet, but chances are you read this comment in a few weeks and it will be up by that time.

  • ... and then the terrorists bombed your house while you went shopping...

  • Awesome Video. Man that room came together. Awesome work on the Home Theater!

  • i really like the ceiling

  • very nicely done

  • Awesome, what's the name of the music playing all the way through!

  • OUTSTANDING job, looks better than any real cinema.

  • alright im just putting it out there for no reason, why would anyone build a "home theater" with a screen that's almost as big as any regular LCD TV you can buy and probably be easier to set up? Nice work on this one though it looks nice.

  • this is a real home theater right here!

  • Incredible! Great job, and cool video!

  • What are the specs to the projector? Is it full HD?

  • I hate the orange but man that is one sweet ass theater!!!!

  • How much did you spend total for that? It's beastly! :D

  • awesome!

  • show off :)

  • ye so cool ;)

  • Very good! Hey, I have and idea! Could you come help me with my home theater!? lol jk

  • im probaly the only one who dosent know but what are the blue slabs of what evera on the side of the walls?

  • Acoustic Panel, home made. To absorb sound for less reflection.

  • @tatoule hey man, im really curious on how you got those carpentery skills?

where do you learn them? how did you know what ceiling to construct and what wood to use etc ?

  • LOL, I thought the roof was going to fall down as much stuff as you attached to it.

  • sweeeeeeeeet Very nice JOb

  • Superb looking theater room. I wish i had the time to do something like that with one of the empty rooms in my house. I'm just too lazy, lol. Enjoy your new space, you did an awesome renovation.

  • Nicely done!

  • nice a modded xbox

  • Damn.. That's amazing.

  • see that was just awesome!

and Im just way too lazy to do all that myself!

I'd rather just plan it out hand the money over and let them get at it but hey props to you man this is great!

  • Nice!

  • perfectly done! just awesome!

  • well done bro

  • Nice, this is a real home theater

  • Amazing.

How much did that whole renovation cost? Plus projector, screen, sound system etc.

  • holy hell man! Friggin awesome

  • Damn amazing. I'm only 14 and I really wanna do that. So nicely set up.

  • im gonna build my ht room next month. your design is nice.. im just gonna copy that :) . nice cabling up there.

  • Upps, what was, and what is now that room:D nice vid man:)

  • PS3's are very common additions to theaters, as well as xbox-ect. It has 1080P HDMI and seems to be immune to software updates like all other Bluray players. Only has an optical digital audio output if you want to avoid HDMI switching through the reciever.

  • coooooooool

    i wish i had one

  • im writing this on my ps3 whilst its on my 140" projector just now , trust me u can play ps3's through a projector

  • I know. I want a projector.

  • well thats nice to know. but the defintion playstation games wouldnt be as nice as a 1080p hi def tv. so that all i needed to know. and the answer to that borrow my head?. inhabited?. nope.

  • 1080p projector anyone?

  • All of the theaters I installed professionaly had x-box and PS3 included! Since PS3 is a bluray player it has HDMI and is easily incorporated into almost any Theater easily. the bluetooth remote is difficult to get around if you want to have complete control with one remote. But that's the only drawback. Click my link to see a badass theater with fiber optic ceiling and automated lights!

  • how did u get into that soughta stuff cause i love that it let me know how u started in that industry

  • projectors are nice. but you cant play playstation games on them.

    true/false?

  • your dumb. false offcourse !

  • You numbhead, you can play.

    Is someone borrowing your brain?

  • False, you can't play playstation games n them but hook up a PS3 to the projector and put in a game.

  • :) funny

  • I wish I had a home theater like that though. All I have is a cheap TV probably close to 10 yrs. old with some 2 channel speakers hooked up. It's my gimp home theater. Doesn't have HD though. I don't think there was HD a long time ago.

  • WOW! Come make me one :p

  • Cool, very inspiring!!

  • dude, that is the absolute coolest thing i have ever scene in my entire life. u should charge ppl 2 copme in there and watch movies lol

  • wow! i wants one lol

  • Pretty good, but an 2:35:1 setup would've been awesome...

  • Good God! GREAT job!

  • i bet they wanna wring his neck

  • 0:10 YIKES!

  • Looks SICK, i bet your neighbors want to watch movies there :P

  • can i come to live with you to say yes pleas!!! jajajajaja

  • wow!

    Looks GREAT!... Respect!...

How much money did u spend on that... and how much time?

  • sweet!

  • Nice reminds me of home theaters in high end homes

  • Fantastic, will be making home theatre in garage soon, some great ideas there, really impressed. Loved the ceiling :)

  • VERY VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE!

im mostly impressed of how many times the sofa was moved in that vid.. could not of just put it in the corner :P

  • good job..looks like a fun project

  • can i come live with you loooooooooool nice job bro 10/10

  • classy

    chidooooooo

  • Nice home theater bro i am going to make my Home theater soon

  • dude i love your place.

  • Nice job. Are the white columns bass traps? And what speakers, projector, cables, amps etc. are you using.

I just finished an IB with 4 Dayton 15" subs havent figured out what I will end up powering them with just have 2 500watt BASH amps for now. Well good job I love to see other ppl projects, especially done well.

  • How Do You Get Cable Television onto a projector?

  • The same way you get it onto a TV. First of all,l if you have basic cable, it's not going to work for ya. If you don't, all you do is grab a pair of RCA cables(Red, Yellow, white), and hook the cable box up to the projector. This also works for gaming systems, etc.

  • bravo! Love it. Don't listen to the euro douchebag complaining about wood, his home probably sounds like a tin can. Sound dampening is something that people don't do when setting up a home theatre. You did it and it looks great too!

  • Sweet!

  • Your just jealous cause you gotta pay people to do it for you.

  • How much would it cost for someone to Build me just the Cealing part ? any ideas

  • indeed

  • i fucking hate this!

    gimme!!! :(

  • $500 projector

    $100 screen

    $1000 speakers

    $35 per can of paint

finding out that rats ate the cables Pricless hehe....

  • lmao.

  • woah nice are those speakers on the side hanging ?? if they are its a rly good idea and i like ur style and stuff. im gonna make 1 into my manor maybe in 2 years or so =)

    Nice vid!

  • what are the dimensions of this room

  • sweeeet

  • My GOD! That a lot of work for Home theater! I got 1080P projector, and I am my wall to view blu-ray, it not the best but I can't do all those stuff you did in this video. To much work, have upgrade projector yet? Cause it shure to look like 720P and very old.

  • Bookshelf speakers yuck

  • Love this video

  • VERY nice setup....I love the music makes the construction sound easy haha. Great work. If my home theater only got to that step, I love my 116" screen though.

  • wow thats hell of lot of work to built home theater, good job man!

  • was my ht maar so big

  • greath jobb! it looks beautifull. my parents are thinking of making one, but in a few yrz.

  • ummmmmm looks goooooood i want one

  • Wow dude, that's great. Good job.

  • rico eh foda neh

    quem pode pode!

  • wow!!! this looks awesome!! you done a great job!!

  • Wow you did a really good job on that...

What model projector did you use?

Was this in a basement location?

What types of video cable did you use amd where did you get it from?

Sorry for all the questions I'm just curious and want to build my own home theater, Its my favorite hobby.

  • How much do you think to build this one? im looking for somebody to make me one. Just put your contact number so i can call you.

  • Sorry I dont build anything for anyone.

  • about how much did this cost, just for reference

  • Excluding the electronic components, about 2300$ in building materials (wood, carpet, cable plugs, lights, etc)

  • not bad

  • @tatoule Did you miss a "0"?

  • Cool, check mine :)

    +++++

  • very NICE!

  • cool, the best place to buy diy movie screens is from ebayer movie_screens he has them for $6.99 and they are $1,000 screens you can make with them

  • i dont like the wall color

  • Check out other videos, its Now Black

  • nice job. didnt do it half assed like me :P

  • now thats a home theater

  • my bedroom isnt 11 ft long or wide lol.

  • 11 feet long by 11 feet wide? What kind of horrible fucking screen? I also bet your "70,000" system is Bose, which is complete garbage and overpriced.

  • hahaha your just jelous.... get over it... good post.

  • that looks gooood

  • Where is your Monster Power Center? Just curious.

  • Yeah... Cool room man... But, who the hell taught you about speaker placement? The rears should be ear level while standing up... Not WAY up on the ceiling, like you had your. Other than that... Pretty nice, but your screen needs to be a little higher up as well.

  • I think you have been misinformed about speakers placement. Do more research :)

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Wow... You really are a complete idiot... Look up anywhere... You'll find that the rear speakers need to be ear level when you are standing up... Not 8 feet in the air. I've been buiding/installing high end home theater system for years... I know what I'm doing.

  • You have been doing that for years? Is that why you can call people idiot?

First I thought you said only ear level. Second, they are 3 feet above my ear level and a little bit behind.

Ceiling is at 7 feet and the speaker is like 5inch from the ceiling.

My other videos for my actual version, screen is 1 foot higher and I've got different rear speakers and one is placed differently but same height. Thanks for your comment it.

  • You have the actual PLACEMENT correct, you just need to lower them... Especially the side surrounds... Other than that, you're good to go.

  • And no, I have NO been "misinformed"... It's fact... Google it. It's really common knowledge if you ask me, but I've been doing this for years. Don't get me wrong, they will still sound good where they are, but the IDEAL position is ear level while standing up, that's all I'm saying. I believe even THX specs recommend that sort of speaker placement. I'm not trying to be a dick, sorry for the "idiot" thing. Just trying to help.

  • The "misinformed" was because I thought you said "ear level" at listening position, which did not make sense to me. I read too quickly sometimes.

  • um actully you are wrong. like he said you have been mininformed. i also have a home theater and the speakers do not have to be ear level

  • Maybe in your own, misspelled, ignorant opinion... Why don't you people simply google speaker placement? I'm not trying to be a dick, just teach ya'll something. Just cause you have a cheap Wal-Mart Home Theater in a Box, doesn't mean you have a "Home Theater"... So, shut your fucking mouth. With shitty shit like you have, it doesn't matter where you put them, it's always gonna sound hollow and fake. LOOK IT UP!

  • um actually, my father spent over 74,000 dollars on our home theater at our summer house in key west. and we had professionals set up our theater. and my father is a lawyer and my mother is in real estate so unfortunatley for you it isnt wal-mart. =) and our screen is 11 feet long by 11 feet wide.if you dont believe me ill put a video of it up. and im on youtube not the literature for nerds site so i dont have to speel right if i dont want to =)

  • Yeah, you're spelling is way off there buddy. So, that makes me not believe anything you just told me. THX certification says they need to be ear level standing up, I think they know what they are talking about. Also, it's 11 feet long by 11 feet long? What the fuck are you talking about? That's what you just said! If it's 11 feet wide by 11 feel tall, then it's WAY out of date, and in 4:3 format, somewhat... you are an IDIOT!

  • um yeh i am and idiot and i dont care because i have money. itll get me somewhere in life and hold on ill ask my dad how big it is. ok excuse me i was off my a few feet. he told me it is 10 feet high, by eight feet wide. so its pretty big. and im an actor not a contractor so i dont know your little nerd technical terms. so yeh i was off by 2 feet. its still big and if you still dont belive me just ask me to put up a video.

  • i want one please

  • how much is the cost to build one ?

  • It depends what you include in the cost, contruction materials/isolation was around 2500$. A/V equipement is from zero to infinite :)

  • WOW thats great!!

  • Very nice.

  • Very nice home theater. I also agree with AirPlus1, quite an exceptional video!

    cheers.

  • Very Nice Job!, Congrats!

  • its ice but its just like a big plasma tv you should buy an projector that projects a bigger screen

  • that was a projector, idiot

  • yeah but he meant a bigger screen i think?

  • Of course it is a projector, but I don't need a projector that project a bigger screen. I would need a bigger screen and a bigger room and sitting further, etc. Everyone is limited to their room size.

  • awesome home theater.

  • Nice cinema

  • Looks like you put allot of time thought and effort into your setup. I never thought about using pvc pipes as cable chases. I assume that's what that black pipping is. Very clever.

  • Great work with the cinema, but the vid is also first class! Good job!

  • 10 out of 10 bro...thx.

  • Being a Audio Video Installer Myself. I enjoyed that alot. People sometimes don't understand how much it takes to make a good Theater. I have people that want a room like that it one day. It just don't happpen. Anyway great video

  • really really sweet i love it fantastic

  • looks much nicer than mine, only my screen is like 3 times bigger (it runs from the second floor down to the first.)

  • Holy fuck dude, your crib fucking rocks

  • I can see to create this kind of time lapse video would take a lot of 'initiative' very nice!

  • holy shit i want that in my house

  • dude that looks awsome i love it. but only 2 seats?

  • There been some change and now I have 6 places. I'll post updates soon

  • nice setup you got there mate!

  • where did you get those long cables for the projector? I've been looking for a 20 foot AVI cable/component cables for this new projector I got, but the cables at most stores arent that big, any help?

  • I've checked around. Your best bet is Amazon You can also check TigerDirect or NewEgg to shop around for prices. I just checked again and amazon had one for $40 with free shipping.

  • I think you should've hid the equipment because it looks a little dustribing, Iv seen many home theaters do that but over all on my ratings I give you an 9.8 of 10.

  • Thanks a lot. I changed a lot of stuff in my home theater recently. I'll post a update soon.

  • Congratulation to the room and the patient to record all! I'm Brazilian and a have a simple Acoustic Research ARHC-5 and a Yamaha RXV-457. I love home theaters systems.

  • Nice but what is that on the right wall (1:57 in)? Is that a LCD or Plasma display? Why is it up so high?

  • It's the basement window with curtain

  • very nice work, Im pleased with your work. See my video Home Theater [ Part 1 ] and see what your think.

  • Dude you should takeout the basement window cause it looks like theres a LCD, Plasma there lol.

  • it's a window, you can see the curtain in front of it and the light coming through.

  • Is it THX certified?

  • No, only the speaker wires are
