Thank you all for support. I purchased the locomotive back in February and I had it a total of three weeks. MTH only offered to replace it because after being shipped back and forth the locomotive fell apart literally and made a claim to UPS in which their insurance paid the claim then they offered me a new locomotive. My beef with MTH is they kept messing up the ES44DC so bad that the frame was bent from forcing it back together. The circuitry constantly smelled like it was burning and was hot
I think your layout is first class.Tough break with all the engine trouble. I have never sent any engines to Columbia for repair. Mine always sent to Thurmont MD. I know they always come back fixed. I hope you never have trouble again...but if you do try them. Just look on the MTH repair shop list.
Lionel is just as bad- they did that with the new NH repro set my friend purchased! MTH im surprised- but i heard their customer service is crap so i believe it!
it sounds more like a earlier version of proto 2.0. i received one of the first proto 2 engines ever made and it sounds just like this. it is definatly not 2010 quality.
Hey man.....Sorry about all the BS you had to deal with from MTH. It is a sad thing when you buy the engine you want, wait forever to get it back, and then have to accept a replacement that is not even the same engine. You would think that whatever the problem with your ES44DC was that a Company as big as MTH would have the resources to repair it. Once again...Sorry man. It was good to see your trains running again even though it was not the way you wanted it to be. The Layout is looking good!
I like that replacement now you have something to lash up to your railking sd70ace.
