Is there any difference between using this lens and just zooming the projector in to produce a picture big enough to eliminate black bars on the screen?
yeh, because you are using more of the panel in the projector, the resolution is higher (using more pixels) and you are using more of the projectors brightness. then again, considering the price of the lenses, you could argue its not worth it.... not sure..
I have been buying many projector, but I don't get what a big deal about anamorphic lens ? what the heck is 2.35.1... why can't 16:9 isn't good enough?
I have been experimenting myself with theatrical lenses and can vouch that developing a solution like this isn't easy! Alignment is one thing but finding a suitable lens is another. That's one awsome lens right there and I'd love to know where he got hold of it!
heres a question:
why dont they just make blu ray movies in 2.35:1 and projectors with a 2.35:1 mode?
