Anybody who watches this and thinks Richard Herring should look deep into the mirror and ask themselves "how am I intelligent enough to put food in my mouth?"
@standardbrit ah, hmm. Seems the middle bit went missing. It was supposed to say "Anybody who watches this and thinks Richard Herring is a racist, should look deep into the mirror" etc. Well spotted, it didn't make sense
I've been to this show LIVE. A key part of the show deals with race by challenging racism but also liberal assumptions on racial identity. That it is interesting how we seek to divide, and further subdivide, ourselves into separate groups which only serves to obscure our essential and unifying humanity.
If you think this out of context clip makes him a racist - you're a fucking idiot.
@1883ross I agree with you wholeheartedly, with youtube's limit on the length and my idea of 'fair use' I couldn't provide the clip in complete context so apologies all around. It still makes me chuckle quite a bit and ah one day hope to see him live. Cheers
@standardbrit HAHAHA why is a thought so dangerous to discuss, naybe you shoud ask yourself that, but then it is clear by your comment you have never questioned anything in your life. SUCK A DICK :)
12dgdgdg You completely missed the point mate. He's playing with words and people's perceptions about what those words mean. Personally, I thought it was an intelligent and original way to undermine and deconstruct the concept of racism. And it was funny. And no, I'm not Richard Herring.
There's something quite excitingly dangerous in this, which is that although he categorises himself as a 'wolly' liberal, he sharply critiques liberalism and explores the arbitrariness and provisionality of attitudes.
Rather than guarding against racism with anti-racism sentiments, pure nonracism is to not have it in your heart in the first place, rather than fearing it. It should not even have a place to take root. With liberals, I often feel that they are hacking at the leaves all the time.

The common theme through this is that only white English people can be racist. Utter rubbish. This guy cleary got picked on at school and hates the country of his birth. so very sad.
@12dgdgdgdg He doesn't say or imply that, and if you listen to his podcasts in which he talks about these subjects more in-depth it's clear he doesn't believe it either. Go away.
@TwiztedAnimator He was deliberately looking like Hitler because he did a bit about if it's been long enough for people to start using that mustache again. EXPLANATION EXPLANATION! I swear! I'M EXPLAINING!

There is as much genetic reason to divide people according to 'race' as there is height or hair colour.
I call for the abandonment of the abstract concept of race.

@FrogmortonHotchkiss The thing I always like about Herring is he'll explore both sides of an argument. It really makes you think.

What a load of rubbish.
You don't need to be racist to not know what country somebody is from.
