  • I've been in Autzen stadium, Husky stadium, and Martin stadium. Husky stadium is the largest, but when it comes to each stadium on it's loudest day Husky stadium falls short of both those ones.

  • cool story hansel

  • to bad washington cant win any games

  • really Death Valley is the only one up here that is really consistently loud, all the others are really always fluctuating between 113-115 DB's. And this coming from a Bama fan

  • Even if your claim of 130 DBs at UW is accurate, it means nothing without knowing, "compared to what?"

I'd like to see objective measures of volume at peak levels at the 50 yard line in all large stadiums.

I think it is louder indoors - big, close, college basketball games have almost live-rock level volume, even smaller ones like Duke.

The noise is allowed to escape from open air venues. At places like Columbus, Athens, and South Bend you can hear crowd response to big plays 3 miles away.

  • Yeah in 1992 when you guys had enough fans to be there

  • whats up with seattle and having loud ass football stadiums?

  • @MrOMEGA811 they averaged 68,000 fans per game in 2008, the stadium seats 72,500. They were 0-12 that year. So they were winless and were only 4,500 per game short of a sell out. Check your facts before you talk out of your ass dickhead. Must be an Oregon fan.

  • After the stadium renovation, it should be even louder. They're removing the track, which will put the crowd even closer to the field.

  • the like to dislike ratio suprised me after watching this.... everyone down rate for the misleading title

  • Goooooo Washington Huskies!!!!

  • Husky stadium sucks. full of fair weather fans who only root for their team when they win.

  • Heh heh I go here ;D to bad the stadiums getting remodeled -__-

  • You practically have to wear earplugs in Death Valley. Geaux Tigers!

  • @superjosh2001 Death Valley is in Clemson....LSU got the name only because reporters misinterpreted "Deaf Valley" and started to call it "Death" instead. Guessing because of regional dialect...anyways I like LSU too, but Clemson is my team...GO TIGERS!

  • @superjosh2001 It's funny, but the only way anyone would know you're talking about LSU, is the "Geaux".

  • @osubuckeyeboy25 The Horseshoe, is the only place I've ever heard the announcers had to yell during their TV broadcast to be heard. When it's a normal game, Ohio Stadium is quiet. When it's a marquee game, there is no place that's louder and more intimidating than Ohio Stadium

  • roll tide

  • Autzen Stadium better of been up there. Havent u seen tht place get loud its really cool. Yet never went to the other ones but Autzen is just too awesome. The foghorn, the fans, everthing about is just awesome.

  • If that was evidence of loud, then the crickets in my backyard are louder than that.

  • Husky stadium did do that but the most consistent are Beaver Stadium, Autzen and Death Valley in my opinion.

Autzen being the loudest per capita

  • @Breakdancingguru Yeah those three are hands down the loudest stadiums in college football

  • I'm a Bama fan and I've been to Death Valley, Florida, and Georgia and those 3 are NOTHING compared to Happy Valley of Penn State where I went to last year. Even though we beat them, what a crowd they had!

  • No other stadium can prove that they've been louder then Husky Stadium which has been measured at 133.6 decibels... That is the truth and fact. Until that happens, everyone's opinion is just that... an opinion.

    Woof Woof!!!!

  • Those were so loud I heard them with the sound off!

  • umm'92.... THE Big House is louder then husky stadium

  • UHHHHH MICHIGAN ANYONE?

  • every been to bryant denny when its packed with 100K people....LOUD

  • Walton Stadium at the University of Central Missouri? that's my guess. Go Mules!

  • Huskie Stadium- 72,00 people

    Clemson- 80,000 people

    Tiger Stadium- 90,000

    Oregon- 54,000

sorry...Oregon has the loudest stadium...look how many people they have compared to the others!

  • @CGalum09

you're so stupid, you don't even know what the name of your stadium is and you can't spell husky. typical duck fan. GO DAWGS!

  • @cubicleboy true story

  • tennessee vols fans!!!!!!

  • Baton rouge had an earth tremor or whatever they are called because it was so loud quite a few years back.

  • Death Valley and Kyle Field are the loudest I've ever heard by far.

  • @accolade1984 yes, you can hear the sounds of boos and crying anywhere within 10 miles of Death Valley, even when theres no game.

    GO COCKS!!!

    2001!

  • BIG HOUSE

  • it's gotta be the Shoe... buckeye fans are crazy for their team...

  • Not surprised. Seattle fans just get loud at every sporting event.

  • Milan Puskar Stadium. Ask Pitt fans

  • @wvmtneer96 What about asking LSU fans?

  • @Sublime0545 I said Pitt fans. LSU fans too. Its loud as hell in Morgantown

  • Williams Brice Stadium. Just ask those Clemson fans that were there last month just how loud it was. 34-13. 3 YEARS IN A ROW.

  • Texas A&M is the loudest. The fans are always pumped and the tickets are always snatched up. The Longhorns always have trouble in the first half against them because the fans are so loud and never stop and the longhorn players cant hear eachother.

  • @sivret20 False

  • @iReversaLHD Did you watch the video? You are wrong, my good sir.

  • @spartansoldier49 that's the thing with u Aggie fans. U NEVER focus on ANYTHING but beating Texas even tho Texas leads by a 2:1 ratio in the series. Can't u guys EVER focus on beating other opponents? No, apparently. I went to the 2003 game against Oklahoma in College Station. You know when OU won 77-0? even when u all yelled at the top of ur lungs OU didn't mind and obviously heard each other & never had trouble. If A&M is really as loud as u say it is how come no one else agrees? Exactly.

  • @Terminator80085 The problem is that the 2003 game was in Norman first of all. The 2002 game was won by A&M and they defeated another No. 1 Oklahoma team in Kyle Field and yes it was difficult for the Sooners to hear that day as can be judged by the false start penalties they incurred. As for trying to beat other teams, dude you have not one damn clue what you are talking about.

  • @accolade1984 whatever you say, silly Aggie. You guys are going to get beat down in your first year(and every year) in the SEC you know. ;)

  • Autzen Stadium is the loudest!!

    GO DUCKS!!

  • @iReversaLHD False

  • @sivret20 True

  • as a bama fan, Death Valley(at LSU) has always been loud on a consistent basis, not just on special games.

  • Funny both top comments are Death Valley..LOL but GO CLEMSON!!!

  • @DanGoBearcats32 the first Death Valley comment was LSU... obviously! and you Clemsux fans sure werent very loud whenever we (south carolina)beat the CRAP out of you(:

  • @CJchickadee Wow you have to use the same exact comment for multiple people..way to be original. And sure you did beat the crap out of us this year and actually we were at SC just saying. But hey its called a rivalry game and it happens, at least we own the series still and not like we wont give you guys a nice beating sometime again.

  • I'm an OSU fan and Washington's stadium was literally created in a way that it makes it louder, so Washington is the loudest.

  • huskies need to fill all of their seats to be loud. But the cougs were so loud against u of a in 97 the qb couldnt get the snap count off. that was with only 28000.

  • Autzen stadium. . .

    Duhh?

    Go Ducks.

  • THAT VIDEO WAS SO LOUD!!!!!!! IM GONNA DIE

  • it says clemson vs BC 2007. i was there it was the loudest game ever.

  • @southernboy11223 Actually the '92 game of Washington vs Nebraska was the loudest. DUH!!!!

  • 2013 this will be no question the loudest stadium.

  • Proven fact the loudest stadium is Tennessee :/

    Go Dawgs!

  • the simple fact that Ohio Stadium is not on this list tells you that its B.S. go bucks. michigan sucks.

  • clemson is the loudest

  • @LiiSSaPOO13 False

  • The BIG HOUSE OF MICHIGAN IS!!!

  • DEATH VALLEY is the loudest! When we were unranked and upset #4 Auburn the crowd's reaction was so loud that the seismographs in LSU's research facilities registered it as an earthquake!

  • @Terminator80085 When was that?

  • @TKwarrior17 1988. the game was titled "The Earthquake Game"

  • @Terminator80085 Death Valley is in Clemson, SC... you must be thinking of Deaf Valley, the nickname given to LSU's stadium way later. REAL LSU fans don't call Tiger Stadium DEATH Valley... you must have jumped on that bandwagon a tad late...

  • @thehafpadwota LSU now calls "Deaf Valley" DEATH VALLEY because we usually just kill all of our opponents who play us at home in Baton Rouge dumbass. And yes, REAL LSU fans DO call Tiger Stadium Death Valley and Tiger Stadium. What makes you think a Clemson fan such as yourself would know more about LSU than me, and actual LSU Tiger fan who actually went there?

  • @Terminator80085 THE REAL DEATH VALLEY IS THE LOUDEST NIGGA

  • @southernboy11223 well, I guess.

  • @Terminator80085 haha i got a little carried away.

  • @Terminator80085 Did you watch the video?

  • @sivret20 yes i did but LSU and a few other stadiums are still louder.

  • @Terminator80085 you Clemsux fans sure weren't very loud when the Gamecocks beat the CRAP out of you!(:

  • @CJchickadee I'm an LSU fan dumbass, can't you read other peoples' comments?

  • @Terminator80085 hah, the same auburn team that almost lost to Utah State a week or two before in their own home stadium. WhOa!!! WhAt An AcCoMpLiShMeNt!!!!

  • @Terminator80085 - nice try... use a VU Meter and then come back to us. Otherwise your opinion is just conjecture. haha

  • @Terminator80085 I was about to put the same thing, and I'm an Auburn fan. But hey, I'm going for LSU on Monday. GeAUx Tigers

  • @aubietiger1928 thank you. Geaux Tigers!

  • @aubietiger1928 i have no business in this conversation but coming from an LSU fan hearing it from an AUBURN fan means a lot, when you guys were in the championship last year i wanted an SEC team to win before pac10. When we're not playing each other we can all agree we hate the tide... GEAUX BOTH LSU AND AUBURN TIGERS!

  • @hcaz731 Hey, Florida fan myself. We should always root for one another when it comes to bowl games, especially National Championships. Gotta keep that Championship trophy in the SEC, where it belongs. Fortunately we'e guarenteed it another year with LSU and Bama going at. Good luck to your Tigers and Go SEC!!!

  • @Bucboy1001 thanks means a lot too from FLORIDA! most people hate on SEC teams for winning so much but they don't realize how much this conference is as a demonating force. that's half the reason why tx am and mizzou wants to come down to be with us. thanks for pulling for the TIGERS rather than bama and congrats on winning the GATOR bowl this year...GEAUX TIGERS AND GATOR CHOMP!

  • they knew michigan was the loudest but they must be osu fans

  • HOLY SH*T! Thought Beaver Stadium or the Big House in Ann Arbor would eclipse this, but...

  • The Shoe in Columbus. Go Bucks!!!

  • surprised that with the amount of people that are always in the big house its not in the loudest

  • It's crazy that 16,300 people in Allen Fieldhouse put out 124 decibels...ROCK CHALK!!

  • @Kansas1241 Allen Fieldhouse is indoor dumbass

  • wanna know why it was so loud? look who they were playing... Nebraska. The HUSKERS probably had more fans than the Huskies at there own stadium. GO BIG RED

  • @anelson69 Its not all about size Washington has like a 70,000 capacity, but because of the design, the noice is emmitted more. also its how much the fans are in it.

  • @anelson69 no... at that time UW had the best program in the nation, the Huskers average age in their stands is about 84, they don't make any noise, but they make for very gracious hosts.

  • @TheChubVids The Landfill... They can bury all the arrogant losers there.. Since it is a landfill and might be the UGLIEST stadium in America, outside of the Superdome.. They can use some TNT and do the world a favor.. I have seen Seahawks games louder than Autzen ever could be. The U of ZERO, ugly football stadium, the UGLIEST basketball court ever.. And still ZERO National Championships.. The Best thing of 2011.. Auburn 22, U of Zero 19

  • Comment removed

  • I bet Husky fans at 92 are still louder than current huskies

  • To bad they took it down... NOT!! GOOOOOOOO DUUUUUUCCCKKS!!!

  • @mamaman65 To bad you'll never win a national championship............Not!! GOOOOOOO Tiiiiiggggggeeeers

  • @bravesnipz Hey fucktard! Who juist won the rose bowl!? You cunt!

  • watch= HITLER HATES ohio state....we gana spank Rural myers and da Chokies.

  • 07 was the yeara of the true fans

  • Those are loudest recorded, I would love to see loudest Average.

  • No one dies at Death Valley, SC. well maybe Auburn, but the country knows LSU's stadium as death Valley now due to what happens there

  • @geauxtigers440 I did. And I have been to many stadiums. The Horseshoe was loud and the way it is built amplifies sound. You may not like Ohio State (obviously since you are a Tiger fan) but when I went there, it was much louder than when I went to the LSU/Florida game in 2007 (the year LSU won it all). Death Valley was loud but the Shoe was nuts and BOTH those stadiums were still far below where the shitty Ducks play which was a god damn echo box.

  • lsu's tiger stadium is deaf valley named after clemson received the name death valley. and clearly as seen in this video husky is 1. death valley is 2. also memorial stadium holds 10 grand less people than tiger stadium which means we're pumping out more decibels per person.

  • @herb821 false. LSU did not name Tiger Stadium "deaf valley" or "death valley" after clemson. there was NO copying. LSU was "deaf valley" originally because the LSU crowd was so loud people said it could make you go deaf. In 1988 when we upset #4 Auburn our crowd's reaction was so immense it registered as an earthquake on a seismograph in LSU's Howe-Russell Geoscience Complex. We then later changed to "Death Valley" because we usually just kill our opponents at home. More people=more decibels.

  • clemson, Death Valley is the loudest. almost tied with husky but death valley is a little louder! look it up yall will see! its in a valley built to hold sound!

  • @geauxtigers440 - i have been to Husky Stadium and to Auzten, and Husky is much louder. what makes Autzen loud is that the stands are practically right on top of the field. the overhangs on the upper decks at Husky deflect sound directly onto the field, but almost more importantly is the people on the upper decks stomp their feet, which makes a thunderous sound to go with screams. trust me, when Husky fans yell and stomp, there isnt a louder stadium in the country. same range, yes. louder, no.

  • @geauxtigers440 - ummm, Husky Stadium HAS been louder than both of those stadiums. Husky Stadium holds the record (in the United States, at least) for the loudest decibel reading ever recorded at an outdoor sporting event. when it really comes down to it though, there isnt a noticeable difference between 133 and 130 decibels.

anybody who thinks Husky Stadium isnt one of the loudest stadiums in the country though has no clue what theyre talking about.

  • From EXPERIENCE I would rank the top 3 as (and I hate having to admit this) 1) Oregon 2) Ohio State 3) LSU

Oregon really is loud. Too bad they can't win a big game and are consistently overrated.

  • LSU's Tiger Stadium aka death valley is the hardest stadium on earth to play at. I wonder why?

  • @AirRondo - are you freaking kidding me ?? mind explaining how you came up with that claim ... i highly suspect i know where you got your information, you pulled it out of your ass. hardest stadium on earth to play in, lordy. please, impress me with your vast knowledge of stadiums outside the United States.

in reality, there is no such thing as a difficult stadium to play in. what if LSU sucked? would their stadium still be so difficult to play in ? the stadium has nothing to do with it.

  • @AirRondo now i could be wrong here but... Clemson lays claim to "death valley." but nive try!

  • Having been to both Beaver Stadium and Michigan Stadium, Penn State was louder...but it was also against a big ten opponent homecoming weekend. When I went to the Michigan game it was against Bowling Green...most of the extra noise comes from any differences in stadium design.

  • Well, when everyone is BOOING, it does tend to get real loud in Huskies stadium.

  • How is Beaver Stadium at PSU not the loudest, They measured the decibels there once in front of the student section and it meaured louder than a jet engine.

  • @TheOrioles93 - you read that in the National Enquirer or something ?

  • The Big House, largest stadium in the nation, loudest one I've heard all year.

Clearly that was in 1992....its 2011...things do change

  • Kyle Field.

  • uh hello, look at the bottom, its cuz of a jet plane 100 ft away. Gosh look closer people

  • @CliffHangerOnEdge ummmm, man, I think you need to look closer, They are saying the stadium recorded 130 Decibles.....they are giving an example.....a Jet From 100 feet away gives 130 Decibles..

  • @CliffHangerOnEdge you're dumb

  • The Big House (Michigan Stadium)

  • @TTepid No way it's a hole in the ground and all the sound isn't contained very well

    .

  • @TTepid

definitely not. Stadium is too open. All the noise goes straight up. its gotta be a place with tiers, to keep the sound in. That's why a place like notre dame is out of the running as well.

  • @repthe9011 well at the michigan game, where there is 115,000 people.....you cant tell me thats not loud. you must be crazy...

  • No way Washington is louder than LSU, A&M, or Florida State.

  • @sjakubik they must've made this up then

  • Ben Hill Griffin Jr. aka The Swamp nuff said

  • Clemson named there stadium death valley first, LSU's was called "deaf valley" cause no one could hear in it because it was so loud. Or thats what i heard anyways.

  • i wasted 15 seconds of my life..

  • LSU

  • the swamp in florida is pretty loud as well.

  • Any poll without 105,000 Buckeye fans is irrelevant...

  • @snyde19 dude 25,000 fans at washington grizzly stadium in missoula, montana gets way louder than the horseshoe. Every ESPN announcer thats done a game there has said so.

  • @geauxtigers440 you won by 3 decimals ....in 1992....I can't say your wrong, but whats the fun of a game without crazy fans?

  • @sunnyhound0

Mutts haven't had much to cheer about since the 20th century. They like to live on their laurels, though.

  • its husky stadium no doubt

  • LSU

  • watch?v=GtLxpMyh13g

    Enough said.

  • ummm not sure who their statistician is, but.....hes wrong. Clemson set the record with 135 against Miami in 2005, and Oregon broke it the next season, but that should be 1. Oregon 2. Clemson...just sayin

  • @rebeldude1865 well this was conducted by espn on the visitor sideline. Also, fuck the ducks

  • Husky Stadium? Bullshit.

    1. Death Valley

    2. The Shoe

    3. Texas Memorial

    4. Coliseum

    5. Autzen

  • @SimsAustin ummmmmm wrong every home game the camera shakes so much it looks like its gonna break and we havent had the best seasons in the last couple years so that shows that our fans are dedicated to husky football oh ya and bullshit about autzen

  • @SimsAustin bull shut did y just made that up its husky stadium...which is under construstion right now soon to be a state of the art stadieum and the best in the country..

  • @thatr0ckstardood what about that UW game? We always bring the noise.

  • the shoe..enough said
